I have a soft spot for the setting and interactivity of DA:O and so this review from a Redditor that points out how D:V fails so spectacularly in respecting its own heritage struck me as a good read.

You know you done fucked up when somebody writes that many words in an angry rant.

Apparently according to the author there, he was banned from the Dragon Age subreddit for critiquing the writing.

And his post on /r/gaming was deleted.

There was also this post from the director of the Ori games - Ori Director Says Dragon Age The Veilguard Writing Is ‘Terrible And Feels Dehumanized’ - that was posted on one gaming subreddit, where it got locked, and then on another more mainstream one, where it was removed.

Quite the mystery.

:hmmm:

Now wait a God damn minute. Does the hottie from DA2, who is now a pajeeta, have a peacock feather tail?

What in the fuckiest fuck. Jeeez
Isabella was kinda already a pajeet.
Sort of.
Your yearly reminder that Isabella was once a white redhead.

Fuck everything after Origins.

Redhead on a shitskin is not much of a readhead. More like raghead.

Leliana was a redhead.

But unmodded Origins characters are butt-ugly anyway.

Fuck everything after Origins.
And still looks uggo like hell.
With redheads, they are either hot, highly attractive and possessing a certain majesty, or they are complete ugly goblinas.

Tbh Isabela looked nice in Inquisition (The DLC/Multiplayer thingy). Same as Leliana and Morrigan. If only the game's issues were how the characters looked...

It's hilarious because back in the day i ignored Origins because it felt like dumbed down trash and decline of Bioware.

How far we have come...
I mean it kind of is, it just doesn't look as bad compared to what we have now

But it still is decline in many ways, and definitely dumbed down

I feel like Veilguard could be improved, if after every line like this, there was a 2 second cutscene that shows the mass slaughter that is happening in Ferelden - heads on spikes, cities burnt to the ground, the Archdemon feasting upon the populace. And then it cuts back to these """people""" talking about Starbucks, with a laugh track.

BioWare should’ve made another Darkspawn chronicles so you could slaughter all companions. Taash could die doing what she loved - telling everyone she’s non-binary.

Darkspawn Chronicles was such a weird, weird DLC, just on a technical level. It's the only thing in DAO history, official or unofficial, that utilized "Other Campaigns" tab. What was it there for? What were they planning to do with it? God only knows.

That's because there is dumbed down (relative) and there is dumbed down to the very bottom (absolute).

The entire game is apparently like this. People keep posting scenes from different points in the game, and it's always people just lounging around their clubhouse talking about bullshit. You'd be forgiven for thinking there's no world-shattering threat on the horizon. I'm convinced this game was literally written by children.

What is there to discuss?

If your game isn't good enough to warrant a sequel due to its popularity (which sales are a measure of), then that's on you. Otherwise you'd be making a new game. If you destroyed Dragon Age universe to the point that even the fans don't like it, if your presentation of LGBT is so horrible than even trans people speak against you, if YouTube content creators are giving their honest opinions on your own game, backed up by video evidence, then should you be blaming anyone else but yourself for the failure of the game YOU MADE?
