I thought the railroady griffin battle was dumb.

At least the railroady QTEish Greg-the-dragon boss fight has a good voice actor shouting pseudo-profundities

If you can kill it at the first opportunity and skip that shit, do it.

It's not so railroaded... If I understand it correctly you can kill it at any moment, it just becomes progressively easier as you climb the tower and

you get help from an npc once on top, provided you did his quest

Dunno, probably I enjoyed it because I was low level, the fight was actually very tense.

It's actually a pretty cool sequence, you can jump the rails so to speak to go around the gates for example, and some other neat possibilities. Generally speaking though I hate the fucking griffin because it employs the most annoying boss fight mechanic ever - frequently moving so far away it's out of range of all possible attacks and is essentially invincible until it deigns to return to you. Who enjoys that shit?

Perfectly timed Comestion as the Gryphin tries to lunge at you is quite satisfying.

Perfectly timed comestion doing nothing as it lunges at someone else and then flies away again instantly, quite infuriating.

What? Fire magic staggers and makes the griffin fall down pretty easily.

Yeah but you can't possibly hit the fucker if he lands 20 feet away from you and takes off in less time than it takes to move the cursor. Which he does all the fucking time.

I am so wary of Guardian that I don't use commands. At all. Ever.
Before I started playing, I read that ←left reinforces Utilitarian, which to me seems by far the best Inclination. Whenever my pawns are being unhelpful I hit ← and sure enough my main pawn became Utilitarian.

←Left also causes pawns to buff you when not in combat. Great just before a fight.

Warrior can stunlock the Griffon until they run out of stamina. Just use any of his Arc abilities on the head to keep the griffin stuck on the ground.

Or set fire to his wings as soon as he nears you? If you have a fire enchantment going just jump+grab him while he sweeps down, his vulnerable spot is quite easy to hit onche you're on his back. I did it as a low level fighter and almost killed it before blue moon tower.

Man, the BBI secret augments for opportunism (+20% strength when you're grappling) and grapple-stability make the stupid rooms with multiple dire dragons doable. You can drop all your old dragon fighting technique and just bum-rush them, grapple somewhere on the trunk, slide over the heart and thousand kiss them to death in like 7-8 seconds with one of the better daggers (and probably do even better with gouge). Wyverns with the hearts on their back are just pathetic - they try to fly to get you off but get stunned back down before they get 10 feet off the ground. Only classic drakes with their fly-up belly drop move have something they can possibly "roll" as a counter.

Griffins are awesome. They are, like, the biggest trolls in video game history.

The best is when you're trying to do an escort quest, and one shows up and flies away with the NPC you're supposed to be escorting. :argh:

Deadly Gouge is heavenly with all the climbing augments. While I personally prefer daggers for gale harness and the dodge-roll even just using dire gouge with a decent sword is just too good to pass up, and wearing the assassins band just puts it into 'overpowered' territory.

I've been using nothing but dagger + bow on my assassin so far, just beat Grigori. Should I bother looking into sword + shield? What kind of builds are you guys using for BBI?

Also using the guard trick to level up vocations. Couldn't for the life of me figure out a way to get them to give less than 100 XP, I'm using pawns that are quite a bit higher level than I am and it's at 124 XP per kill.

I like the sword and shield moves. One thing that surprised me but seemed obvious in retrospect is that assassin can mix up their weapons. So you could use sword and bow or dagger and shield if you wanted to.

You can also swap weapons pretty easily during combat, so you could have something like sword moves set for crowds of small enemies and daggers for stabbing big ones.

I guess that's not a huge pain in the ass, but I thought there might be some loadout swap button or something like a lot of games have.

Mmmh I'm level 43 and nearing end-game. Should I do BBI or rush to the end and go NG+ on hard mode? I'm finding many fights far too easy...
