There is no in-game way to do that. You have to edit the save.

If you complete the quest, it is essentially game over. They will warn you about it quite clearly. I'd do BBI.

The 20 wakestones quest is a point of no return, can't do anything but go to NG+

However you will be able to re-access BBI within like 5 minutes of starting a new game+ (it's open after you remake your main pawn). The only really relevant merchant from the basic game for BBI is Fournival, who can sell you infinite cheap damage boosters if wanna ruin BBI for yourself. Otherwise everything from the main game will be obsolete like 1/3 of the way through BBI.

I'll do exactly that. Glad I asked before turning in... Going into the everfall blind has been fun

I basically went WTF? When Ur-Dragon attacked me... I totally wasn't expecting that.

but I'm glad I asked.

edit: yes I know, but I won't start a NG+ atm, too litle time to play properly, so I'll just go to BBI and kill something or get killed whenever I have like 20 minutes of free time.

I hate the single slot save, wish I could play at least 2 char simultaneously...

As I understand it, if you swap an old backed up save file into the "active" save slot, you will be quasi-softbanned, other people can't rent your pawn, and any gifts you give will turn into rocks - but it only lasts a couple days. I haven't actually done it myself, although I did back up my physical character before making a fresh game with a mage.

Ah yes, the joys of being locked to a single save file (I'd never cheat or dupe, but I might like to put one file on hold and try another) and the game constantly phoning home in order to insert little girl pawns wearing that obnoxious pink dress and the blue jester's hat into my city streets, even though I exclusively use the Riftstone search function to find pawns with decent abilities and stats and outfits that don't look like trash.

Funny thing: You can preview everything about pawns in the Rift except their voices. They have the default voice while in the Rift, but once out of the Rift you may end up with a hulking brute who sounds like a chipmunk or a little girl who sounds like Sheeva from Mortal Kombat.

It's very obvious that Capcom simply altered the pitch of one male and one female pawn voice actor for the voice slider. This is perfectly understandable, since pawns have thousands of lines in Dragon's Dogma and using ten voice actors would have been a ludicrous expense, but the more dramatic pitch alterations sound off because altering pitch alone produces non-genuine, uncanny results.

The weird part about the save file thing is that in the console versions you could still easily make multiple characters just by switching profiles- you could even rent your pawns to yourself, which could be incredibly cheesy. I wonder if stopping that on PC was deliberate or not.

Well, you can still do similar thing on steam. Just make another account and use family sharing.

As noob my idea of making it more challenging is using Rook all game.
I'm Level 47 now and he's died more times than I can count.
Forces me to actually use consumables to remove status effects because he doesn't have that cure all spell like every other mage.
I don't know what difference it makes but I try pimping him out with some +magic gear but it seems to help a bit, he kills the odd wolf now and again.
Works as a money sink aswell since the previous gear is lost.

I just use mods to switch between saves myself, much easier than backing up your save all the time.

I think that makes the game think you are duping, no? I read somewhere that if you do that, you can't rate or give gifts to other pawns for some time

Having multiple chars I guess...
I am loving my sorcerer so much, nothing as satisfing as killing a Chimera in a single meteor strike :D or seeing my fighter pawn become so competent as to lay the smackdown to a group of enemies all by herself while I calmly summon my earthquake

Daimon 2nd form down on hard mode. That void spell was unmanageable until I went and got myself some liquid vims.

Think I'm finally done with the game.

The final cutscene was fucking beautiful considering how my characters look. I was holding back laughter. So much for the intended dramatic effect

Is that gloriously dopey J Rock title theme still in this version? I burst out laughing every time the vocals came on back when I played the original version on the PS3. Brilliant bait and switch.

No, it was replaced once Dark Arisen came out on consoles. You can still look it up on youtube though. Maybe mod the game to put it back in. ;)

Alright this game looks cool, it's downloading now. Is it like Dark Souls where melee combat is great and everything else feels kinda boring?

Archery is fun too, magic is kinda cool if you like spell effects but there are casting times on things and if you get rushed or pick a bad spot to cast you can get knocked out of it which sucks... Also magic gets quite powerful. Regular game is on the easy side but the expansion areas can get pretty tough, especially after you beat the storyline.

No, it's much better rounded. It doesn't have full blown lock-on mechanics like Zelda/DS (it just has some proximity lock-on) which is part of what makes DS so melee-centric.

I like that you must actually search for quest items and npcs.
