Some people are aware of the changes that happened during the last decade.
Some people are willing to let a game actually release with the full picture in hand before the endless whining and critiquing begins. Go take a walk in that beautiful forest you apparently live iin.

Keep defending the dumbed down systems, mediocre graphics etc.
Everything I've seen so far looks like a typical sequel downgrade.

Should the finished game prove me wrong, I'll admit it (should I still be around), but I doubt it.
I've witnessed too much decline in my life to not recognize it when I see it.

Takeaways:
DD1 went for quality over quantity with quests, but reception has been that DD1 was relatively barren in quests, so they'll be making more this time.
You can recover stamina while climbing if you're parallel to the ground (in DD1 this merely reduced consumption to zero or almost zero)
Knocking down large monsters is physics based on their center of balance (rather than just doing enough damage to break their poise).
Confirmation the player can be human or beastman (interviewer just mentions players may want to think about which they'll pick for their character and devs affirm, so no real info on how it will work)
Last bit says DD2 is standalone story, though implies it takes place in the same world.

There's a huge 4chan ''leak''

But honestly the funniest bit was:

Cyberpunk 2077 release fiasco made Capcom change many things about development, incluiding giving a lot of extra time for Itsuno & Team.

Also vocations screen.

looks like shit in every way
tuning out of this thread.
Thanks for announcing. WAA BOO HOO HOOO I'VE SEEN TOO MUCH DECLINE IN MY LIFE WAAA- exactly, and that is why you are bitching like a woman on her period. You have let the onslaught of decline make you jaded. Don't be jaded! Itsuno and his team always deliver quality. You have no idea what goes into making a video game and you come off like a spoiled entitled teenager with the posts in this thread. Putting you on notice: please grow up and get a sensible grip on reality. You sound like a /v/ poster. In fact, every single one of your posts reminds me of the whiny little fruitcakes I encountered on /v/ threads before Sekiro released. It was all whiny FUD cuckery. And then lo and behold, Sekiro released and it was everything I knew it would be and more. Don't discount the Japanese, baka gaijin. This game is going to come out and it will be amazing and you are going to love it. :salute:

I love Dragon's Dogma, looking forward to 2 and I don't say that lightly, I usually hate new videogames. It looking pretty similar to the first game only proves that the first one was very much ahead of its time and nothing has even come close since.

That griffin video was great.

I especially appreciate that they've kept the game single player, I'm sure it was very tempting to release it as a multiplayer GAAS abomination but thank you based nippon Itsuno.

Nah, this doesn't align with the verified Capcom leaks. The leaked release schedule had DD2 set for a q1 2022 release pre-lockdowns. No way a game of its scale only ended preproduction in 2020. Two years for a major title (that isn't a "new levels" sequel) seems unlikely. It just made some very, very safe guesses.

This reminds me of first two Gothic games, in the sense that they are reusing some old locations. Let's hope that the Japs manage to pull a Piranha Bytes and make the sequel better than the original:salute:

However, in terms of other games providing inspiration for the studio, Itsuno revealed that it wasn’t a fantasy RPG, but Rockstar‘s GTA 5, that impacted most on development.

“If I had to pick one other game that came out in the meantime, I would actually say GTA 5,” he explained. “I kind of admired how they were able to create a world in which it really felt like the NPCs were going about their lives independently of the player.

“All kinds of interesting emergent behaviour could happen whenever you were exploring the city and all kinds of weird accidents felt like it would happen whether you were there or not.

“That feeling of a living world is something that I’ve definitely tried to achieve in Dragon’s Dogma 2.”
Dragon’s Dogma 2 takes inspiration from GTA 5, director says
