Well at comic con (If I was reading correctly) they have a cloth map of thew game. So I guess that makes it an Ultima.

Anyways fuck this crap, I'm going to go finish Serpent Isle. Which is the best Ultima ever. Just FYI.

SERPENT ISLE = LINEAR JRPG WANNABE

Enjoy your banquets, ceremonies and rituals.

Ultima died when Batlin released the banes. The Avatar went insane too. All the bullshit that happens next is just in his crazy mind.

That's how I chose to interpret it. YOU HAVE BEEN INDOCTRINATED !

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Virtues give you of course new abilities/spells and items to use. I got the sword of Compassion. I'm like that. Apparently, the item that symbolizes the most Compassion to Bioware Mythic is a fucking sword. To add insult to injury, as I receive the sword, Shamino says to me :

"Go show those thieves the Compassion this sword is made of !"

:retarded:

I think I am at a loss here,is all this real,or some elaborate prank?

Please, I am so depressed from reading this, and not so much about the Ultima release, though I played and enjoyed them all. No, that movie quote is horrific but the above I just can't quite believe is real. Do you have a link? Bitch about old classics all you want: I love B/W movies, but I understand they aren't everyone's cup of tea. But the above "Sword of Compassion"? I feel like writing Compassion on a sword in magic marker and cutting off someones balls.

Turns out that the problem is that the old Ultima games are incomprehensible and thus lost to this generation. So, EA took it upon themselves to reimagine it and give the fans the Bioware Ultima!

"It's like when someone tells you to read Chaucer," Barnett commented. "I know it's supposed to be brilliant, but it's incomprehensible! I mean, I'm aware that Battleship Potemkin defined modern cinema, but it's not a great view. You watch it and go, 'it's black and white and a bit crap, I'd rather watch something else.' And that's basically the problem we've been faced with, is how to reimagine and reboot a classic and make it so that there's a new generation that can have an Ultima.

"Every generation deserves an Ultima," Barnett declared grandly, "And we're giving this generation the best BioWare Ultima that we can."

:bravo:

"It plays fast, it's clicky, but the combat's fluid and fun rather than tactical and mind-numbing."

Mind-numbing? That's a new one.

Unbelievable. This man is rotten to the core.

Combat in Ultima IV was utter crap though. Anything is better than the mind-numbing repetition of that.
While I agree the combat in UIV was by far the weakest point (as it is in any Ultima) it's probably like saying severe diarrhea is better than a rock hard turd that passes like a brick.

So speaking of impatience, when does the world get to look at Ultima Forever and decide if it's a worthy successor to the franchise? EA hints only "later this year." Barnett declined to elaborate, joking, "PR will chop my hands off if I say anything."

If only they'd chopped off your head, or tongue.. or better yet; your father's cock :x

Eh, Ultima 4's combat was actually OK. Like Arcanum, it had the decency to get itself over with quickly when it showed up, even for combat weak classes.

Compare this to the awful combat systems that also drag on forever Bioware does and...

I will give them a few points for the cloth map and Virtue cards. Prelim score now sits at 7/100.

Could the combat be any worse than (as many a forum post has said) Ultima 7's nearly completely hands-off easy combat? That being said, I have come to dislike level-ups in action games. If I wanted a well-designed action game to get easier I could either adjust difficulty settings, use a power-up, search high and low for a well-guarded piece of equipment/upgrade, and/or acquire more lives (plus cheat codes if I like). I do not consider an action game becoming easier through generic moment by moment gameplay, killing enemies, loot, and completing sidequest checklists to necessarily be innovation. Most of the time these action RPGs just end up feeling like stripped down action games (Dark Souls is not one of those games because of still qualifying as a well fleshed-out action game and being WIN incarnate).

Player Character : "Eight virtues ? Why so many ?"
Shamino : "People are complicated.".

They kept all 8? That's surprising. I'd expect them to streamline it to one. That is, THE virtue.

How utterly predictable. Rape was imminent.
So now you know why EA recently gave away those two Ultima adventure games for FREE* at GoG.

And now you know why EA has been so nice to Fargo regarding Wasteland...Wasteland Forever is already in pre-production...

BUY the Blood Sausage Pack now for only $2.99! Take out your enemies in style with this classic ability straight from the original Wasteland!

You know someone is going to bury this last post in 10 years and we will then see the irony behind it all.

Shouldn't you be writing them a 5,000 word essay on the qualities of the game now, Moa?

I actually replied to the survey and made a lot of observations. I think it only turned out in expressing shock&disbelief. I have not played enough to bring something more worthwile than "the buttons are too big" gameplay wise.

But I thoroughly explained to them, in simple honest words (right) why I would not bother to figure more.
