If Conan the Barbarian 1982 (greatest film ever made) was transformed into a video gayme, it would be Elden Ring. It's too epic to describe in words.
Based on what I've heard the sentinel boss at the very start of the game (it's almost the first thing you see after leaving the tutorial area and entering the open world) is definitely also deliberately placed there to hammer the point home.So I would say Margit is one of the hardest bosses in any of the From games. I think this is to encourage the player to go out and get as strong as possible before facing him, but at the same time, it's like a bold-faced challenge to all the fans who've played the games up until this point. I felt conflicted about it, turned to go and get stronger several times, but ultimately came back for the pain. It's a great fight, the game is not too easy - at least up until this point - and I ultimately wish I would have just done what my RPGamer instincts had told me and gone out and gotten stronger. I'm glad I persevered, but it was a stupid perseverance that I won't repeat for the rest of the game.
I am happy that Elden Ring is the way it is. And I can see why people have said it's taken the genre in different and better directions. I can't wait to play more of this tomorrow, and for many days after, and for many years after.
A question for everyone who experienced heavy stuttering that made the game unplayable: after how many hours and in what area did that start to happen? I need to understand if I haven't reached it yet or if I'm just blessed.

Seems like you're definitely expected to go out and explore.
BRO MINE STARTED WITH THE FIRST HORSE BOSS DUDE
Do you mean jumping by any chance? I have a feeling that's it, and as someone who hasn't played Sekiro, it's really hard to get used to it. It will take some time, but the combat has been really enjoyable so far.As for the the Tree Sentinel, he has another learning purpose that I won't post here, as it was fun to learn on my own.

Man, if I'm chipping 10 pixels of the boss's 900 pixel health bar with a hit, I'm not dealing with this shit, I'd just grind.

It's not that extreme, it's moreAnd yes, he does have quite a lot of HP on top of that. It's not unmanageable, just slow going given the circumstances.the attrition of health vials mixed with his extremely aggressive moveset that tends to counter every tactic we've come to learn throughout all these games.
Seeing very mixed comments regarding performance. It certainly doesn't help that it's hard to discern which ones are written by people with genuine performance issues and those who haven't done any troubleshooting.
Some of the comments I saw mentioned the game tried to use their integrated graphics card instead and that some issues were fixed when they changed this. Others say that switching from fullscreen to borderless windowed fixed it for them.
It looks like everyone's mileage might vary, so I guess I'll have to try it myself. I hope the issues won't be too severe
RIP if you warp to the Mines like I did....
I kept exploring this area for almost two hours before I realized that fast travel and and a fucking map are available from the beginning.RIP if you warp to the Mines like I did....
