I'm gonna head Mountaintops soon, but I already dislike how little variety there's in enemy types. It's like everywhere you go you stumble upon the same monsters you've already fought before.

I'd say this is the biggest weakness of the game going open world, everything else is cool

Okay now what the fuck do you do with Ulcerated Tree Spirit. You can't even see anything half the time. Holy shit these bosses are some real winners!

I just might have to throw this thing in the garbage and play some Dark Souls 2 or Bloodborne. What a fuckin joke these bosses are...
The ulcerated tree spirit is actually quite simple if you don't face it underleveled. If you stick to his belly, you can avoid all his attacks by simply rolling once and then punish him with 2-4 R1 (or jumping/charged R2 if you are confident in your timings). You just need to watch out for 3 moves: the one where he screams, the explosion and the breath attack. For the screaming move you need to roll into him when he runs toward you after the second scream, for the explosion you just run away (and, more importantly, you level Vigor), and for the breath attack you can avoid it by running close to his tail. If he is constantly one-shotting you, you're just too underleveled.

You're making it sound like he just stands still. The mother fucker jumps around all over the place like a spider monkey (and that constantly breaks the camera)

To me a lot of the unexplored factions and/or (demi)gods just seemed like DLC bait to me. The NPC quests that abruptly end (Nepheli), outright disappear (Patches and Diallos) or leave key items behind that can't be used (Alexander) are the real mystery.

its froms natural evolution of storytelling. first it was vague and mysterious, now its nonexistent.

Asylum demon 2.0 is the erdtree avatar, no? Ulcerated tree spirit is the rotten tree-snake.

If the contents of this image (most notably the ones regarding the differences between the JP and EN version) are to be believed it'd appear that not even FromSoftware has any idea about what the story is supposed to be. It certainly wouldn't be the first time this has happened either.

Spoiler alert, this tree-snake is one of the recurring minibosses.

It caused me a lot of issues at first aswell. But after you get the hang of it the fight is actually really simple and you barely ever get hit. Just stay behind his back and close to him. You can just hack at him until he jumps away.

But yeah, it's a terrible fight. You can barely see what's going on.

My bad, I thought he was talking about tree something for the snake thing, equip 100% physical shield + bleed weapon and just block.

Can't believe I storyfagged a From Soft game when the entire thing was translated by a guy that can't read kanji

I think DS I/II also had a lot of mistranslated lore.

well, he writes his stories in a way he found by being unable to understand proper english and in turn gets them translated by a guy unable to properly understand japanese. Thats almost poetic, if vaati made a video about it the circle would be complete.

Just found Hoarfrost stomp... Jesus Christ, this so incredibly broken! Literally nothing puts up any sort of challenge any more.

Even the biggest giga-tard with a thumb in the middle of their palm could clear the game with this shit.

My son put hoarfrost on my weapon almost by accident :D

Now imagine your toon and the mimic, spamming stomp on both sides of a boss... And that is how I beat every boss whose arena runs at 30-something fps! :D

Not even the ones that are in other locations or drop from enemies?
Here's a (partial) list https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Golden+Seed if you don't mind risking some spoilers, take a look at it, see if there's one in some location where you haven't been and see if you can get it.

Either they are not appearing for me or they disappeared in my inventory. I see people complaining about that happening. Anyways I deleted the game. Fuck going through all that again. From Soft can kiss my ass. This thing is rubbish.

Sell your son and get a better PC. Get your goddamn priorities straight, man!

He doesn't stand still, but with 90% of his attacks he naturally gravitates toward you and, once you're under his belly, you can usually punish a couple of his melee combos.

Just an example of how broken it is:

So I stopped really paying attention because nothing posed any sort of threat any more but then I ran into the twin crucible knights and I thought, ok, now I might actually have to focus and maybe use an ash summon.

No. I didn't even take damage.

I'm not good at this game. I died to the early single crucible knight like 30 times and won kind of by accident. With Hoarfrost I took on two level scaled ones at the same time without taking damage.

Absolutely broken.

Dung Eater looks just about exactly like what I would've imagined.
I do think it's a bit interesting how some of them are just completely unaltered default presets since it shows they did at least put some level of thought and consideration into what they should look like.

Guys... after 90 hours... I think I did it.... I found an enjoyable minor dungeon....

Gaol Cave in Caelid. It was filled with the zombie type enemies on fire screaming behind bars and as I was walking through I noticed items in their jail cells and it became apparent a lever would release them all at some point. It was very atmospheric and for 10 minutes I thought i was in a better game (Demon's Souls.) Unfortunately I got to the end of a dungeon and fought some boss I've fought five times before and found an arcane weapon that can't scale since it's bugged.
