I would count the rats as annoying enemies. They're not challenging but god there was so many of them (I don't remember a souls games with so many rat encounters) and you always, always must let them attack first because they attack at the speed (or maybe faster?) of a dagger wielder and since this game has no poise this means fuck you if you started an attack first and you don't hit them fast enough.
This is the type of enemy that makes me most angry about the games lack of poise, let's get real, fighting these things ad nauseam is not good content, I just want the fight to be done asap and if poise existed I'd just take the hits and mash that r1 on them like a drooling retard so that it ends faster.

I don't generally disagree with this point about rats other than: there is poise in the game. It's DS3 poise where your poise value and your weapon type and attack type all matter. What were you wearing? A nun's habit and running with your katana? :P

Ulcerated tree spirits? C'mon bruhs this is like one of the easiest enemies he has like 5 slow attack and if you have basic shield with 100% physical def you can block all of them with 1 point of stamina because he doesn't have any follow-up the only thing you need to roll is his grab attack tons of openings to just smash him just don't lock on.
doesn't mean it's not a shit enemy.

It is not?
>thing literally clips through walls of most rooms it's put in and can hardly be seen
>constantly jumps around the arena like a madman on cocaine
just because it's not a hard enemy doesn't make it good game design, stop defending garbage just because "you can do it". Fromsoft has some of the dumbest fan base. "the enemy isn't hard so it's good" ? do we hear that sort of reasoning often in other games?

Every enemy is clipping through walls and your attack do it too, I guess every boss should stay still and turn into loot piñata.

Finally beat Leyndell. What a beautiful place. Think its my favorite Soulsbourne location.

Only thing dragging it down a bit is the reuse of enemies - regular footman grunts and regular knights - only they are color coded yellow and shoot lightning now.
Sure, there are the new funny trumpeteers and a few annoying swashbuckler types with deadly x-bows plus some priest(esses), but other then that - the earlier Souls games were much more creative with enemy types and often had new deadly knights in late game locations.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
So I've just found out you have to activate the summoning pools not only if you want to summon someone but also if you wanna send out your signs through the the Small Golden Effigy. I mean it's kindda obvious...in retrospect. I have activated barely any since I didn't play online on my first run. Now I have to start running around and switching them on....aaaaagh.

Don't make the same mistake as me kids, eat your broccoli, turn on your pools.

I don't understand why didn't the devs make those summoning pools auto-activatable. What's even the benefit in walking by and not pressing "use" key? They could've been simply tied to a nearest bonfire.

Feels to me like they were a late addition in the development cycle, and that they'd been planning on just doing the 'drop a symbol here' variety, but some suit demanded they have a 'user friendly' pool so they could just drop their summon at it without actually walking back to it, so they added it late in the cycle.

I never use the statue anyway, I always drop mine right outside the boss portal. In a lot of dungeons the statue is QUITE a way from the actual boss, there's no reason to deal with a potential invasion from a tryharder on the way to the boss.

Overall ranking:
DeS=DaS1 > DaS2 = ER > > > > > > DaS3 = Sekiro
Fixed for accuracy :salute:
Well I don't think it was a correct decision to even put Sekiro into this ranking, since it's not really a souls game. I didn't really like the game before, and thought of it as a rhytm-clicker game where the whole gameplay consisted of "running past trashmobs" and "learning boss patterns to a tee and then clicking them to death".

But at least it was an honest attempt at reinventing their combat formula. And overall the game felt like a tight experience without any major hiccups or boring/copypasted moments.

Watching a few tubers and streamers now, kindda surprised how many aren't realizing things I thought were p. obvious
- that those tiny obelisks on an unexplored part of the map mark map locations
- that you have to hit a skeleton second time to kill him
- that those hunched statues point to a catacomb and that they deactivate if you complete a catacomb
- that the Baldachin's Blessing decreases your HP and you can cancel it out by popping the blessing

Even the normally smart ones like Lobos are still in the dark about those.

Last battle gave me Children of Kos vibe. After 10 hours of agony I finally beat the bastard. What's weird, after 180 hours of play time I don't have enough of this game, after some rest I will return to kick some butts I've missed (Volcano Manor, Helitree). It was a great journey.

180 hours... Wtf are you guys doing in this game? I was done in little over 70 and i didn't feel like rushed and that I experienced most of the decent content and got all remembrances.

I'm sorry, what? I thought these were about something online. What do they do exactly?
cvv was talking about a small icon that you can see on your worldmap before you found a map fragment.

Actual tiny stone obelisks that you may have seen in the game world signify that you are currently in an area where summoning is possible.

I can't watch streamers play, it completely triggers me how inept most of them are. Forget being good at the game or finding secrets, half of them don't even pick up crap that's right in their field of view in front of them and whine about things that the game has already told them.

Forget realizing that the next map location is marked, half of them never even open the map to begin with and then bitch and whine that they're lost and they don't know where to go.

To your list I'd add:

-That you can fast travel to any bonfire (seriously this DRIVES ME FUCKING CRAZY that idiots whine about travel time being too long and don't even bother to understand you can instatravel to any bonfire with rare exceptions)
-That Sacred Tears are ALWAYS inside marked churches, and that's the only place you find Tears
-That every single ruin marked on the map has an underground room with an item in it
-That equipping weapons in alternate slots still increases your load
-That when you full stagger a boss you deal FAR MORE DAMAGE by simply whaling on him with normal attacks for the good 5-10 seconds of his fall animation + his getup animation, rather than running around and getting one mediocre damage 'critical' hit - ESPECIALLY if you have other players. Nothing aggravates me more than an idiot critical hitting a boss for maybe 1k and making it invincible until it gets back up, when the 3 of us just attacking it in the time it was staggered could have done 5-10x the damage

Only speaking for myself here. When ever I fight the ulcerated eye spirit I'm totally blind. The camera is constantly flipping around and I'm seeing inside of walls or my face is buried in his chest the whole time. When he starts jumping around I'm on the verge of a seizure. Difficulty has nothing to do with it. It's just a terrible fucking boss you retards.

The only summon allowed on high level play is the jellyfish.
