I hope your bodies are ready for the EXPLANATION TRAILER :shittydog:

Not sure why they decided to RP explaining gameplay mechanics to Jax himself though. But it sure feels janky.

Lol, just today I've received my boxed copy of Elex 2 for Xbox Series X. The disc version got automatically updated to some newer version (I guess that there will be another patch on day 1) with over 20 GB update. I've played for 30 seconds then quit, I can wait a couple of days for an updated build.

But I have noticed that game run very poorly - it was locked on 30 FPS and with sudden movements there were major FPS dropdowns noticeable. It also looked worse than ELEX 1 on my 8 years old budget PC. What the actual fuck? It looked and performed worse that Risen on previous generation of consoles.

There was no option to switch between Performance and Quality mode in options.

I fucking hope that with the release day patch they're going to add some performance tweaks and 60 fps mode. If the reviewers received that version to play on Xbox, ELEX will fucking bomb big time on consoles. It was almost unplayable.

It's not just console only, I have a 3070 and it frequently drops down to 45fps even on medium setting 1080p.

Elex 2 is already not doing great on Steam it's currently only 72nd place on Steam's global best selling games 2days before release. Whoever thought releasing this close to Elden Ring 2 should be fired.

Going to buy it on launch day just to try and help raise its visibility. Really sad and unfortunate release date. Totally agree someone's ass needs a firing

Need to create some controversy around the game to help it gain the spotlight.
For example spread false rumors about multiple romanceable npcs resulting in polyamory.

Nahhh, performance can be patched, incline design is forever. I'm not worried about this, only D1Pers are.

ELEX was released nearly five years ago. It wouldn't do them any good to release it sooner and they've already spent enough time on it. Elden Ring was originally supposed to come out in January but got delayed, they can't go around making last-minute decisions based on what the competition is doing.

Not nearly enough time if they are self sabotaging the console version with performance issues.

It's an unfixable problem if they've botched the performance of a same-engine sequel released on the same consoles they were on the last time.

Played for another couple of minutes. There was stuttering while running, like in Gothic 3. Not the fondest experience to be honest.

Also Jax face looks worse than in the latest explanation video, so maybe some big update is expected. Xbox shows ver 2.0.2 but it does not matter.

I'm not positive, but am fairly certain that the ELEX II release date was announced a decent amount of time after Elden Ring's, which was why I found it so baffling. Of course they probably had a rough date figured out before the initial announcement, but if games like Weird West can get pushed back suddenly for bugs and additional polish, so could ELEX II, especially in the time of pandemic push backs. I'm just saying, it may not have been a move they wanted to make, but they absolutely should have done it. Hell, I can't remember which, but I recall another smaller developer just straight up saying they were pushing their release back because they just couldn't compete with something this big.

So in the end, let's hope THQ Nordic has their back on this one, because they were probably the ones to push the decision and it's going to cost the game dearly. Even an extra month would have helped a lot.

Elden Ring's delay was announced in mid-October, ELEX II's date was in early November. Weird West is a digital-only A title (as opposed to ELEX II being AA), and with ELEX they have the logistics of boxed copies to deal with. A delay isn't as simple as just saying they'll hold off on it.

Are there any reviews for this yet or is there an embargo until (arbitrary time)?
Elden Ring and Elex 2 aren't even in the same genre. I can't imagine ever playing Elden Ring -- looks like absolute shit.
They're both ARPGs. Elden Ring is great, that doesn't mean ELEX isn't also, people are allowed to like multiple things. Also, why are you autisticly yelling into the void? If your comment was meant to be a response then you failed miserably at it. Try using the "reply" feature next time.

Try not having the attention span of a gnat. The post directly before mine was about Elden Ring, and the prior page had 5 posts related to Elden Ring discussion.

Elex is the game play style of Gothic, although a bit more modern. Elden Ring is the gameplay style of of Dark Souls. The games could not be more dissimilar. Claiming they are similar because they are both "ARPGS" shows a level of understanding of role-playing games approaching the level of the average redditor.

Try using the features of the forum as they are intended to be used instead of COPEING & SEETHING like a Twitter tranny because someone pointed out your massive retardation.

Also ELEX's combat is literally inspired by the Souls stamina-management combat archetype. I am actually impressed how in denial you are concerning this.

Gothic 3 release date, October 13, 2006. Combat has a stamina system.
Dark Souls 1 release date, September 22, 2011. Combat has a stamina system.

Elex is by Piranha Bytes. Gothic is by Piranha bytes. To claim that Elex combat is modeled after Dark Souls again reveals how lacking your knowledge of RPGs is. Perhaps RPG Watch would be more your speed?

Have you actually played Elden Ring, or you just think it's cool to shit on the latest "fad"?

The Elden Ring Open World actually scratches that Gothic itch possibly more than any other AAA game I've played. I say that as someone who literally just finished a 90 hour playthrough of Chronicles of Myrtana a few weeks ago.

Items are actually interesting to find as there's the possibility of permanent upgrades/good weapons unlike the average Ubisoft open world where the map is simply covered with achievement bait. Caves/areas you find actually have interesting bosses instead of brain dead mazes/loot fests that you find in Bethesda's Fallout/Skyrim. I don't think it's perfect, but if future open world titles are influenced by it, I'll be happy.

No, it's not Elex/Gothic in that it doesn't have towns, settlements and C&C but in terms of open world design it has actually been done cleverly, that's enough for a comparison to be fair. Also I'm not sure why there's a discussion about Elex combat going on like it's something to defend. The combat is pooryl executed even though I think they had the right idea.
