Germans should work faster on patches. :x It's more than a week since release, about time for a patch, at least. I'm not even talking about Enhanced Edition which is essential here.
Yeah, the lack of a patch is annoying. I don't really want to continue until the Abessa and Stormson bugs are fixed.

Edit: Bioware stuffs their games with ladyboys and what not Piranha doesn't even put niggers in
At least PB can do something right, I guess.

Ah come on theres more right about this game and you know it
Yeah, there's a few things, as I've mentioned. The fact that you can fuck yourself over through quests in a believable manner if you're retarded, the quest interconnectivity and the various ways some things can be solved, for another, even if it leads to awkward-as-fuck and dialogue strangeness at times, and the world design, exploration & geography are all top-notch. Pretty much everything else is condensed awful, though. The controls, the UI, the NPC:s, the companions, the AI, the models & animations, the character development & system, the crafting, the combat, it's all unforgivably bad.

Thx for that mini review Luckmann. Everything I needed to know to pass this game.

ppl itt already finishing while i'm barely level 13 or sth :negative:

That's around where I am and I have about 30 hours in-game time. I'm apparently the slowest motherfucker at playing this game, but I can't help constantly getting distracted and running off to explore something that catches my eye. Usually not the best way to gain XP. Still having an extremely enjoyable time.

You tell me, on tuesday I launched the game around 5 pm, I was at the worldheart with Thorgal south of the domed city. My idea was to go from there to the city immediately and finally hook up with the clericbros.

I finally arrived at the domed city at 10 pm.

I'd stil recommend playing it, just so you can adequately refer to Elex in the context of other games and game development later, because those very few things it does well, it does very well. If it didn't completely fail on all other counts, Elex would be great, and it is my sincere hope that other developers who aren't completely incompetent take a look at Elex and says "Hey, this thing here is actually really awesome, can we do something like that?". Most of the quests are MMO shit, but the way you can resolve them in multiple ways, fuck yourself over because you're retarded, or have something completely unexpected happen way down the line is something I'm not sure I've ever experienced in CRPG:s before, and it feels very organic (up until the dialogues start making you go "Wtf are they even talking about?" because you've done something in advance, or start repeating themselves in the span of a single dialogue), and the world is extremely well-crafted; everything really feels hand-crafted and you can double-over the same area multiple times and discover nooks and crannies that you hadn't seen before unless you're extremely thorough.

I almost think that it's a mistake to have included the sunglasses in the game. Not only because they so massively outclass everything else, but because it trivializes the element of scavenging - at the very least, such a thing should've been very late-game, allowing you to go back to previously cleared areas and actually clear them.

nope, left that piece of shit for later once i return with muh plasma guns, though i did clear out all its friends

in reality i got diverted so far that i accidentally found my way into the playa stronghold

Speaking of the moloch place tho, it's probably the #1 golden example of retardo monster/people placements in this game. Like, those farmers are just ABSOLUTELY NOT BOTHERED AT ALL that there's a deadly mutant infestation just next door, RIGHT BEHIND THEIR DAMN TOILET??

I cleared that place with my plasma rifle, and it kept knocking it closer to the farm, until it was so close to the farm that it aggroed the farmers, at which point they attacked the place and since I was set on plasma burst, they started taking damage from me, which aggroed them to me, and then Falk started blasting them.

Once the Moloch was dead, I high-tailed it out of there, but two of the farmers died because they were retarded and started chasing me. Yeah, the placement of those two areas are retarded. It's extra-retarded that if a single one of those farmers aggro a single one of those mutants, the resulting clusterfuck (bar your involvment) will see the farm wiped out. It really makes you think, who at PB thought that this was a good place to place a full fucking house full of would-be skull-marked enemies, especially since you get sent to that farm early on and getting there as long as you stick to the main road is easy.

I don't think there's even a single guard there.

Nope. And if you ask some random farmer if they're not afraid of beasts, he says "we can just get inside the house and board it up". Well, good luck with that

At level 15, took down two of these bad boys. How? Hand Grenades were super effective. Nothing else I would touch them with even left a dent.

Yeah, if there's one thing in the game that should have absurd damage thresholds, it's the mechs.

Honestly, the game could've had some interesting combat dynamics by mixing resistances and thresholds with multipliers and penetration and things like that, meaning that low-pen weapons like arrows wouldn't do much specifically against mechs, but work very well against unarmored enemies, whereas EMP:s would completely bypass DR but only against mechs, etc. A lot of interesting things could've been done with weapons and combat in general, but nothing was.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
I'm happy that at least the damage types find good applications.

Fire damage is great against many mutants but trash against quite a few monsters in ignadon. Ice is fire in ignadon.

Not like you really need to care but is there.

I also liked that my melee only playthrough was ok. The mechs are pretty tough in melee when you have to fight four of them at once...

I did so right away and noticed a large increase in my melee-only, two-handed-only berserker.

I don't recommend playing this way though - 2-handed is even worse than in Gothic 1/2. Stick with 1-handed or use a gun/bow/whatever.

What's wrong with two-handed in Gothic 2? That's how I've been rolling. Sure, a bit challenging initially, when your stats and skills are low... and it's not very easy to get a good two-hander, but later on you simply murder stuff. So classic Gothic progression at its finest.

I think the move set for the one-handed style is a bit better in Gothic 1 & 2 than the two-handed.

I've actually noted that there are good reasons to use one or the other with particular enemy types in ELEX. One-handed works well against quicker foes and two-handed better against slower, heavier-hitting ones. I like that the game encourages using different weapons within a fighting style in different circumstances without shoving the possibility in your face.

I do miss training and investing points in specific weapon styles though.

there is a farm next to the domed city if you ask the farmer about monster too close he answer that they have tons of wood and can hide inside the house and think about life and other stuff.
