I’m more than 40 hours in, just hit level 30 and got to the highest rank with the Clerics (is it just me or did someone fuck up the translation for the top Cleric rank—all the NPCs call you a Paladin, but it’s not Paladin armor it’s Regent armor. I think someone screwed up because Paladin’s the top Berserker rank and Regent just sounds better for the Clerics. Does anyone know what the faction ranks are in German?).

The difficulty curve really is classic PB. I’ve been exploring all over to delay finishing and finding some great stuff. After I got my stats high enough to use the legendary flamethrower from the Hort and the Executor from Tavar, combat became too easy so I switched from hard to ultra. Even then it was still pretty easy, but now that I’ve got the best armor along with The Redeemer and the Mortal Beam (again, bad translation—it should obviously be the Death Ray), I’m invincible. I wish it had stayed challenging for a bit longer, but it is really satisfying circling back to all the trolls who I ran from earlier and blasting them to smithereens.

Like a dope, I did all the side quests before even going to Origin or talking to the renegade Elexitor or doing the Ignadon battle. I could’ve passed way more of those seemingly high stat checks and gotten better resolutions if I’d progressed further with the main quests earlier on. Plus, I’d have more ways to impress Nasty—I know much of Elex’s writing can be lackluster, but I agree with others that Nasty’s really well-written, especially her color commentary during exploration. Falk’s also high quality; he makes so much sense after you finish his quest. And Arx is great—skull soup!

I think I’m going to finally play Gothic 3 when this is done; I bought the CD when it came out but never got more than a couple hours in because it had so many bugs back then. Presumably there’s a good fan made patch?

48 hours and only level 23, where did the time go?

My build is basically finished, unless there are better one-handers for the clerics than a +3 Regent Sword. Too bad the highest damage weapon for clerics are hammers, because hammers are gay.

Now it's just a 10-level grind to get 85 strength for the last tier melee skill. I can't imagine its going to be a huge difference but what else is there? What level Con do you need to wear the best armor?

My Cold hasn't budged from Neutral the whole game, despite consistently picking the low-cold options. I guess I'm perfectly balancing it out with Elex chugging? Hmm.

No. It adds +10 HP. That's it.

It's very clearly a fucking nuke. Probably Elex-fueled, too, although Konrad says it's a type of weapon used before the comet.

There's a giant missile silo in the middle of the Outlaw's Fort with a warhead in it. I mean, c'mon man, not really much of a spoiler here. Especially since it's the first quest the Duke gave me (even without joining the faction.)

So uhh the Duke was seriously gonna just nuke the Clerics?

I kind of want to kill him and instate Rat as the Archduke.

i don't understand how that "stuff" is supposed to be a mass destruction weapon.
i have done the quest thinking that the duke allow me to join but nope.

I had already finished the quest line with William so I knew that wasn't the way in, though it does have a pretty sick pay day and also a boss battle.

I kind of lol'd how after destroying the machine the cut scene shows metal scrap items (the two small ones) around it, but when you're back in control they aren't there anymore.

So I'm like level 19, finished nearly every quest I can get my hand on, but still haven't found Arx (where is he?) and must now decide which faction to join.

I want to be an Alb tho =(

I tried ELEX, and first impression are they removed STR scaling, and balanced animals like that STR scaling was still there. Then they forgot that percentage bonus helps big numbers, balanced it with max gear, and well 1/10 of pittance is still pittance.

Basically they kinda fucked up with Character system.

And German government paid for that...
(BTW I see three people standing really close together, one was rotating around its axis, and the other was rotating really fast.)

well i didnt want to spent atribute points to strenght/constitution,i hoarded them for dex/int for my lazer needs,thats why i rushed to ignaton.

Anyway stormson's missing quest doesnt make sense so far.

so he was exiled to the valley. The valley is below the elevator west of the city. So either he should be in the area between that if he is on the way yo the valley. But i found the dead escort far north near the desert. I haven't found him yet and the quest isnt finished, but how does this make any sense? I eventually gave up, and decided to go to north, and accidentally stumbled upon the quest location. Why the detour?
