HOARD STUFF NOW.

Because of Switch 2 maybe? Look! If you want to kill a company or service just do these few little things:

1. Stop buying their hardware & accessories.

2. Stop buying their games or services.

3. Unsub to everything related to them.

4. Bad mouth them and give shit reviews across the board even if you don't play or just don't even post. Zombie land might be better.

5. Pirate all booty and seed like a virus. In the dark web. There are places companies won't travel. Fuck! I don't believe I've ever even been on the dark web.

As services make zilch $$$. Zero people buy anything and bad ratings and talks of their shit practices increase They'll take notice. And when NOBODY talks about them and they are ignored, they won't just die but they'll wither away. Oh sure, they'll try to get back people in some manipulative way but the public just needs to stab at NINTENDO's heart with silence and shunning. They'll die. Then you strike at the next company or maybe you strike at multiple companies as they'll be suffering anyway.

Konami, CapCom, Ubisoft, SquareEnix, Disney, Nihon Falcom, SEGA, BANDAI NAMCO, Sony Interactive Entertainment, FromSoftware Inc., Atlus, KEMCO, PLAYBRAIN, Koei Tecmo, Nexon, SNK, Gamera Games, Microsoft, Kyuzan Inc, Marvelous, Nippon Ichi Software, Taito, and Atari.

Hell, hit some of your other big boys too like Todd & Bethesda, Electronic Art, etc. HIT EM ALL!

But go ahead and buy from the smaller indie guys, that is fine.

If you want the big boys down and out for good ya'll gotta sacrifice. And that is where the high seas are your friends... of sorts. And even if every last booty archive is seized by the Empire there is still peer to peer, secret meeting in a dark alley, under a bridge, in the desert, atop some mountain, in the fringes of Antarctica where two very powerful Codexers live; shunning even most of their own kind.

REMEMBER!!

Have citra and yuzu recovered? Or are they experiencing the Classic FOSS Moment™ where all competent people were scared off and those that werent made 50 forks that died instantly and will never get anywhere, instead of all working on one thing together?

With Yuzu, Nintendo had a legal hook. What's the story with Ryujinx?
Their lawyers went to Brazil and literally paid the dude to stop the project.
Ok, this makes sense. But this means that now everyone can put the source online again and wait for Nintento to pay them to remove it?

The point is to stop development. Now that nobody is developing it Switch emulation is dead.

Now I am not sure if there are games that still couldn't run well.

In 2024 alone Nintendo took down: Yuzu (and Citra as a side-effect), many tools used to hack and patch the Switch hardware itself, Switch firmware repositories, and now Ryujinx. Mind you that these projects and related software were all readily available on the net for years.

One does have to wonder if Nintendo is being so aggressive because the Switch 2 or w/e is gonna be called is so similar to its predecessor that it could be easily emulated with just a few changes here and there. It would be like the GBA all over again.

Yes I agree, the main problem is that they stopped the development. But in any case, Nintendo still went against new Yuzu repositories and forks, even after the official Yuzu was taken down and stopped development. In the case of Ryujinx, what could they do if the code is back again online? Bribe again the new maintainers? As far as I understand Ryujinx code is completely legal.

Lol. They paid them. Ha! That's like paying terrorists. That'll spread like wildfire and I hope some other group picks up a mutated variety of code and continues. I hope they're nearly impossible to reach as well. Let Nintendo sweat fucking blood; those assholes.

This is like if in the '90s Microsoft had payed Linus Torvalds to stop developing Linux.

Ironically, if it is true, this could incentive new developers to work on the emulation of the Switch and the future Nintendo systems. They could even make significant money, thanks to Nintendo.

Nintendo doesn't want people playing their games at 60fps.

Helps that the new consoles are technically x86_64 PC hardware.
Makes it a lot easier to get started since you don't need to translate instructions (unless ARM takes over or something), nor contend with non-standard floating point units which cause no shortage of headaches for both PS2 and PS3 emulation.

Doesn't exactly make it any easier to actually reach the finish line though.

EDIT: didn't notice I was still on the last page, lol

Apparently, Lost Odyssey is fully playable. I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_npC1UD2Ufk&t=251s

The game looks and runs ok, and so far (10h) I haven't had any bugs.

It feels and plays like FFX without the annoying characters and with better writing in general.

The (short) days when Xbox tried to cater to the JRPG market was wild. It was sad when they retrenched into the Burger market- I don't drink mountain dew.
