The previous games went on sale pretty fast. And im not seeing much if any hype for this on the console reddits. It could well be that they are thinking that most of their sales will come on consoles, but thats a big if.

Did you know they're doing this for the consumer? Here those silly consumers thought they bought it on another store but cvv's masters fixed that. Thank you, Epic!

Jesus, I really didn't want to buy this game full price but I guess I will, just to support it against the tide of retards, edgelords and drama queens.

Fuck Steam in their fat, louse infested ass.
Would you buy one for me as well? That way you could really show it to Gaben.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Taking a stand to support EPIC/Tencent.
Boy, that has to be the weirdest twist on Codex yet.

No sense in hiding now, the gig is up. Clearly the smartest guy on Codex figured out my guise.

I'll repeat myself, but from the game publishers and indie devs pow the correct way to pressure steam without pissing of customers, would be to just set 18% discount on all catalogue on Epic.
Steam would start to leak sales, gain bad PR and eventually would decrease the cut too, than they could end discount on Epic and smaller cut would become industry standard for digital sales.

But that would require foresight that suits blinded by a perspective of a higher cut right now lack. Same price and exlusivity on worse and uncertain platform is a sure way for financial loss in sales.

I wish they'd compete by offering a superior service. It's not like there aren't a whole fuckton of things on Steam that could be improved.

This exclusivity nonsense is just dumb.

Congrats for supporting anti-consumer practices, you must really be proud of that. Purchasing exclusives on a platform that doesn't offer one tenth of Steam's functionality is the way to go! SUCK ON THAT, GABEN!

In other news even THQ Nordic know this was a bad idea. Sounds like not many people were in the know which is why it got pulled and announced at the last minute.

For the people that rated my post shit. Keep in mind, I don't really care for the different PC stores. I own more games on STEAM than UPlay, Origin, GOG, etc. but I didn't buy nearly all of them nor do I use STEAM much (other codexers can vouch for me). I don't particularly care, if eventually Epic overtakes STEAM, becomes as big as STEAM, etc. It won't stop me from playing games at all.

I'm really curious how it will play out. Forcing customers to use your store is one thing, but making it actually functional store that ppl go to, is another thing. Like Origin, UPlay etc. I own games there but that's only thing. Because who really uses those stores for browsing games, checking new releases etc.? No one. They are just fucking launchers I need to have to play certain games and I forget about their existence as soon as I finish said game.

I have feeling that Derpic Store will end just like Origin and UPlay: another liability collecting specks of digital dust on hard-drive until once in the blue moon some great promo will awake it from it's slumber.
