So whats the general codex consensus here? Should I pick this up now or wait for it to be on sale for £2.00

I just started playing this game.
It's been very enjoyable so far. It actually exceeded some of my expectations.
I can't draw any conclusions yet, haven't seen the later parts of the game.

This game rules, haven't had this much fun playing a new game in a long time.

I have a question though, one of my followers became ill while wandering about in the jungle and my doctor's can't treat her - anyone figured out how to assail this yet? Because she's probs gonna die.

You must "attach" a doctor to the wounded/ill at nights when camping. At camping screen 4th tab, you can heal them yourself if your healing skill is high.

Yeah I know how to heal people. The option is greyed out for this chick, I can heal battle wounds but not the disease.

I actually found this game to be pretty fun. I downloaded it first, enjoyed the 2 hours I spent with it and then bought it on steam for $18 just to support the devs and one of the first kickstarter games i played.

I think this is as consensual as the Codex gets, although this is still the honeymoon period.

Yeah, the whole Isabela 'story' is pretty hackneyed and it's a pity that's prominent when everything else shows pretty good writing. Next time I know not to bring her.

Isabela when you talk to her told you that she is not real soldier and that uniform of her Spanish papa is to protect her from tasteful rape from Spaniards, she was allowed to join Cause Senor Rossi was her Father Friend and treats her like daughter. She is also no feminazi and didn't objected to mi Capitan kissing her hand; So as much as I hate PC and anachronisms I treat her as exception from a rule which a few of them indeed happened then:

Took Nun and Female Doctor too, both are deliciusly ''Racist'' and Aggressive.

LundB, requesting Patriarchy Mod that removes all wimmenz from the game. Even better than a modesty mod!

That would probably be the easiest mod of all time. The starting characters are defined in a plain XML file.

They didn't fund this game.

By the way, is anybody buying Skyway a copy so he can play the game without having to admit he spent his own money on a "Kikestarter" game?

Does anyone have any idea whether game files can be edited in any way? Game folder has no .ini.

\Documents\My Games\Expeditions Conquistador\Config.ini

When we ask them about a french translation (I guess you shall see who I am talking about, the same person who is working on your "discord time" one, and your LoE project of course), they just answer a simple "feel free" as if it would only be considered as a fan translation, while spanish and english versions are fully included in the first released version (and we all know how their respective work was considered and rewarded), with no involvement at all from their part to help this person, with a simple "démerdes toi mec".This is a poor manner and behaviour from a newcomer indie studio to receive someone with good intentions, specially in regard of a community that is too often retrograded at a second rank. From our point of view, they lost many potential customers. Definitly not as professional as you AE.

That is what I have to say, their Public Relation is so shitty, while their game is so great.

The game has around 220,000 words, which makes it a fairly expensive affair to have it translated. bitComposer have said that if the game sells well, they will pay for a German and Russian translation. Unfortunately, we couldn't afford any translations beyond the Spanish one on our own, and we thought that made the most sense to have. People are of course free to translate the game if they want, but we don't have the time or manpower to do quality assurance of these, hence they would be considered fan translations. I hope this clears it up.

Yo, Avonaeon, any chance of posting the game's soundtrack on Youtube?

I'll ask the guys when I get into the office on Monday.

Finished game. Mexico not unlocked as a starter option. Wut?

It still has the locked icon on it?
You can try adding "MexicoCampaignAvailable=True" to your config.ini file in the path I mentioned above.

About that. I tried going into C:\Users\Ulminati\Documents\My Games\Expiditions Conquistador\Override\English and editing the contents of <GivenName> and <FamilyName> tags to properly codexian names in both Level0.xml and Level1.xml. However, on restarting the game and starting a new game, the characters still display their default spanish names.

I tried copying everything into a seperate folder named RPGCodex. This enables RPGCodex as a language option, but still doesn't change the contents of the files.

What gives?

We'll look into it. Sounds like a bug.

Game is very good, but out-of-combat management controls a bit sluggisly, controls and movement are a bit like playing with 1sec ping. The overland map horse movement is also not very smooth. Still, I got that "one more turn" feeling so I'd definitely recommend buying it, it's well worth the 18$s they want for it.

I love this game, but the more I enjoy it, and the more I find in it another kind of approach about what is making a RPG.Where is the PC, what is he doing? Player takes all decisions when the team have to be managed, during dialogues phases, but in traditional cRPGs, player always incarns directly the PC.Here, players never see his PC, even during fighting sequences. A quite interesting approach: an invisible PC.
Don't know if there are many of the same kind of RPG

The game is great though other than that. I admit I laughed at the kickstarter project when it launched because of the weak pitch and the fact that I thought it was just another Vaporware project but it turns out to be an excellent little game with great writing and tons of replay value and the fact that it should keep casuals at bay (a bonus delight to me).
