For a developer/game franchise combination that the Codex supposedly hates with all its soul, it is a surprisingly popular discussion subject.

[in] Fallout 1, [...] you meet a cult that worships a giant mutated goo man

When it's in italics, it's in a whiny retard voice. That's what I hear in my head members pop in and out of this thread with their retarded one-liners.

A Libertarian complaining a fantasy world isn't matching up with reality.

FNV, if it were even trying to be realistic, wouldn't have anyone alive, or the people alive would be in such misery that no-one would play the game.

A liberal fantasy. You will die painlessly and all others will envy you.

Here's another scenario :

You die. The End.

Everybody else recovers and rebuilds and lives on as mankind has always done. If they found fully formed Neanderthal footprints on the shore of Europe at 800,000 years (prior to Snowball Earth total freeze over of the planet at 700,000 years B.C., meaning 'Thals survived the impossible) what on earth makes you think puny party favour nukes could ever end the story of man?

(Curious Tongue regurgitates televitz gibberish about radiation and other stuff sounding like Al Gore bellowing and generally making zero semantic sense but not realising he is simply echo chamber for media rubbish)

Ever notice how as the media tells sheeple how pointless it is to prepare for anything the government is spending all-time record money on their own shelters and one of the largest defence contractors on the planet builds atomic shelters for national governments worldwide? IT's never the end of the world, sheeple. It's just the end of you.

Thals survived the freezing cold, humans choose to live in it.

One thing to remind people is that in a post apocalyptic world, scrap metal are everywhere. A PA world is not the same as medieval, because it inherit everything the pri-civilization has made still exist.

Processing scrap metal will replace mining as the industry that give you more metal than you want to do with.

A robot will be attacked because of their perishable circuit boards that are almost impossible to produce in the new world.

Considering how highly Morrowind and Fallout 1, 2 and New Vegas rank here I assume you haven't been paying much attention. Shit, a large percentage even like Skyrim.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion are the shit games.

Perfect. Could not have said it better myself. Also, remember the alternate America depicted in Fallout was an industrial and scientific giant that stayed competitive right up to the war in 2077. This is the part that is science fiction. Everything they built would have been designed to last centuries and be EMP resistant. So prewar circuit boards would be more than worth it to attack robots for salvage.

In the Fallout universe, it looks like the bullet missed Kennedy and Amerikwa never went on to elect a former teen manwhore from Kenya. The Fallout universe diverges from ours in the year I was born, 1963 when they shot Kennedy. Our reality entered a phase of tremendous decline as the other America in that alternate universe went from strength to strength on a trajectory of massive incline right up to the time the bombs dropped. In our masturbation universe the technology was never used for much more than expediting porn distribution but in the Fallout universe they developed slow-decay batteries (softdrink machines run centuries on a single cell), thorium generators as big as a lawnmower, robots with biological brains for AI and a million other wonders.

In the Fallout world, getting clean food and water is enough of a challenge. I don't think many people would be willing to attack RPG-toting robots for circuit boards. And if you really, really want one of those, there are computers laying around as well. Those don't try to kill you when you try to pry them open.

Why are people talking about "circuit boards" in the Fallout Universe? Transistors were not invented until 10 years before the War. There would have been almost no circuit boards to speak of.

Also, I think the best thing anybody can do to the FO universe at this point is drop another few nukes on it. Send everyone back to pistols and spears. It was way more interesting back then.

I say circuit boards because most of the icon for electronic stuff look like a circuit board. The stat boost items, the water purification, etc...

I dont agree with the durable factor, by the way. Making stuff cheap, fast and perishable, is a philosophy. Near-Modern philosophy, at that. make stuff durable is an artisan's philosophy, whatever the age. If it's produced for mass people, it's perishable.

Were those information from the Fallout bible or something?

I tend to try and read a lot of the ted bits of information in-game and I don't think I read how much advancement there was in the world or what happened to the other continents for example.

The Bethesda who made Morrowind making a Fallout game makes my dick hard.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, warn me next time. The excitement over that theoretical game put strain on my heart.

Unfortunately we got the Bethesda who made Oblivion. There's a smidgen of hope for the future however, since Skyrim was such an improvement for them. You never know.
It will be less derpy than FO3, but say goodbye to SPECIAL! :troll:
