Every time I watch the trailer again it gets worse...

... It's hilariously bad, and stupid newtard fanboys are mindlessly happy because of the franchise name being thrown, not because of the content.
How many times have you watched the trailer?

Couldn't cope with the harsh realities and degenerate world that Bethesda had woven?
Degenerate is the right word, I guess. Every enemy was a wax doll ready to explode from a single bullet. I mean everything in the game varied from meh to total crap but for some reason combat was the most off-putting part. A chore that never ended because next pack of copypasted fakes was always five minutes away.

Okay am I the only one who hasn't finished Fallout 3? Not even NV could grab my attention.. Do I have to give it third chance?
I've been dodging FNV for the last 4 years, but the curiousity finally took the better of me, so I'm playing it right now.
It's actually quite decent, if you can get past the absolutely trash combat, some bad design decisions and occasionally boring exploration. The quests are well-designed, NPCs and dialogues are as well, and the overaching story too.
There are a lot of skill-checks and some stat-checks, so the way you build your char actually does influence how the game plays somewhat.
But you will want to install at least the unofficial patch and maybe a couple of mods that fix some really bad interface problems.

wow with f4 announcement, New vegas on steam has 10,000 concurent players and f3 GOTY 3,000 players.
and the official trailer has 7 million views in one day. I don't even know if Star wars had so many after 1 day.
also 1st on top sellers on steam beating GTA v. goddamn.
This gonna be big, it will outsell Skyrim.

Todd knows how to create attention. Hatred violent? Witcher with racism? That's nothing compared to a male only protagonist in todays times !

I actually wonder if Polygon/Kotaku will make a "Top 10 Gaming Controversies in 2015" article, with the lack of a playable female character in FO4 taking the #1 spot.

Eh? That would be #1 on the "Top 10 Hate Crimes in Gaming in 2015" list.

Has the male only protagonist been officially confirmed ?

If so then I will have to wait patiently in the wings with my scythe and reap the drama.

Design documents stated a male protagonist, and this was confirmed by that reddit leak. Then you have what it seems Troy Baker voicing the main character. I'm sure it will be a fixed character. I was somewhat angry with this but I think it will only affect larpers.

A reddit post based on a kotaku leak which listed female and male voices for the protagonist. Here's a um, link https://archive.is/5fgdB

Don't hotlink Kotaku, FFS. Here's archive.is version.

I wish Bethesdas version of the series ever had an actual wide open land feeling. The next town or building or shack is always like 20 foot steps away. Just for once I wish one of these games had an actual empty desert where you couldn't even see "the next thing" in all directions you turn and you have to actual go out and find something.

I loved Fallout 2 and Morrowind, and enjoyed Oblivion; but Fallout 3 wasn't that great IMO. It had like one city with 5 quests in it. That's not an RPG, that's a shooter.
I hope Fallout 4 is a mix of Skyrim and the old Fallout 2. I want cities (the first time I played Skyrim I did not even visit all cities), the SPECIAL system, conversations, and a lighter focus on combat.
And I really hope Bethesda learn from the successes and failures of FO3, FNV, and Skyrim.
