Well, if they can provide a RPG with base-building features we can swallow it.

Because RPG with base-building is rare as henteeth. Right off the top of my head I can only remember NWN2 OC's crossroad keep. And it's skin deep.

That's probably the only way to get modern fans to even play Fallout.

So, I was expecting "streamlined" F3 plus weapon mods from FNV and I'm not really that much surprised with what we have seen so far.
I'm not a purist, and slightly modded nu-Fallouts are quite enjoyable for me, especially FNV.

Good things I see:
- Gamebryo have been finally put to rest, environments look so much more interesting than in F3. Texture/animation mods will further improve the graphics. But TBH, I'm not sure about the art style.
- New armour system, cool! (breaking the lore with power armour upgrades is obvious, but may improve the game)
- Gun mod madness, cool! I hope 50 weapons means base types, and there will be unique ones.
- V.A.T.S. is still in, slow-mo is much better than Time Stop spell from F3. Also, has more sense with layered armour system. I hope that you'll get 100% damage from enemies in V.A.T.S. mode. If not -> mod will fix that.
- Some locations shown in trailer look really interesting from the
- Some small aspects of combat improved - radoscorpions/Mole rats can be buried under the ground and ambush you. Also - one deathclaw ambush, cool! Grenades on hotkey instead of switching weapon? Deathclaw can grab you and disable for some amount of time?

Bad things:
- ME-like dialogue wheels? I can really endure much changes, but this is so sad and retarded. It probably means that stat/skill checks will be absent or very rare and limited... Such checks are for me one of crucial things for Fallout game. And it may be very difficult to fix that with mods...
- WTF, built-in tower defence game? And that AI, Raiders running straight into turrets... I hope mods may fix (or at least tweak) that, but nevertheless its wasted effort which could be spent in some other game subsystem.
- Combat seems not to be improved really much.

Does not boder me much/OKish
- 1950 stuff - play once -> install "Alternate Start" mod. It's my standard for Bethesda TES/FO games so I don't care.
- FalloutCity - probably I'll play with it during the first run, I hope that's optional activity not required to progress with the main quest/char development.
- Dog - as long as it may be left in kennels
- Vetbirds combat - as long as it is optional (but I have fears that fighting Enclave Vetbirds may be equivalent to Skyrim's dragons...)
- Power armour with jet packs? If it's optional, I don't care. Could be cool if used jet packs would be something more than a gimmick in combat. I would like to see it as an exploration tool, similar way as a Levitation spell could be cast in Morrowind. I hope some modders will use it as such.
- Fallout Shelter WTF?

A lot of things need to be cleared, but number one thing which needs to be clarified are SKILLS!
The Bobblehead stand clearly suggests that skills are still in, but in what form? I suspect that they may have been merged with perks. Instead of assigning skill points you will have to improve skills as multi-ranked perks (my guess 4 ranks equal to old 25/50/75/100 skillpoints). Skill bobblehead would probably add one rank (unless you already have SKILL IV). I'm not happy with that at all, when it comes to skills in FO I'm conservative. On the other hand, such approach may force you to choose your build, as limited number of perks will not allow to become an God as it was in F3 - 10 in all S.P.E.C.I.A.L attributes, 100 in all skills and all of the reasonable perks on one character. However, one screen on the Pipboy showed character level 48, and that's just the base game! If there are 50 levels in base game and DLCs will expand max level even further, you'll finally become master of everything, grandmaster in selected areas.

I'm interested in this game, but I'm not expecting much. I still remember how I was amazed with Skyrim before the release, better to be cautious this time! If I forget that I'm playing game that is labelled as Fallout and used to be an cRPG, then it should be a fun experience anyway.

Todd sat in his chair, deep in thought. He was facing a dilemma: The SPECIAL attributes were rather dull, with Perception being completely useless and Agility a shadow of its former self. On the other hand, Skills where all right and had purpose. How in the world could he make SPECIAL as good as the Skills?

A young designer walked up to Todd. In his hands, he had documents which outlined his ideas to make SPECIAL more worthwhile. Fallout 4 would have disguise system, where Charisma would determine how effective your disguise would be. Agility would affect movement and reload speed. Coupled with the existing skills, this could prove to be an interesting system.

The hopeful designer made Todd aware of his presence.
"Mr. Howard, I was wondering if you had the time-"
Todd suddenly awoke from his trance, interrupting him.
"I have it! If we remove Skills, and move their effects to SPECIAL, that will make SPECIAL good again!"
The designer was stunned. He was thinking of how to reply when Todd's gaze met his. He was hit in full force by that wonderful hair, and that perfect 10 CHA. Todd spoke again.
"Well, what do you think?"
The designer straightened himself and smiled.
"Of course, Mr. Howard." He dropped the documents casually in the nearest bin. "Whatever you say, Mr. Howard."

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.

Your list could use some pruning. Nothing particularly wrong with these ones, for example. And a lot of them are just sad and obviously written by broken, lonely people who are so starved for companionship that they get emotionally attached to shitty forgettable NPCs in a video game. Mocking them almost feels like pushing a cripple in a wheelchair down the hill.

Mates, why are you even angry? The game was rigged from the start. It wasn't made for us, it was made for them:

It's Tumblr, what'd you expect? This kind of shit is typical for a lot of their fandoms -- all feels and romance and porn.
Not only tumblr tho'. Most part of the younger/causal crowd is like that. Go to gamefaqs and you'll find exactly this, granted, with less romance and more derp, but still. Or to 4chan, though there will be way more edgy posters and also rule 34. But for many in their late teens and early 20s Fallout 3 (or F:NV, though it didn't help much) was their first RPGs. Add to this fact a generic teen's stupidity and voilà - those pics that I've posted. It's not only tumblr, it really is the large part of the new generation of gamers.

Wow, even I wasn't expecting what they did. I actually kind of feel bad for you all now.

Now I wait for more details.

Why would anyone be angry about this being even less like Fallout than FO3 was? The further from Fallout it is, the less painful it is. Fallout as we know it has been dead for years, FO4 can't hurt it any more than FO3 already did, and the best thing that could realistically happen to it (aside from another Obsidian spinoff) would be Bethesda severing all of its ties to the original games. I can't even rage about the dialogue wheel or the lack of skills, because the thought of an open-world action-adventure game honestly seems a lot more appealing than another half-assed attempt at an RPG, with tacked-on skills that do nothing and combat that feels like shit because "it's an RPG, not an action game". Maybe they could even create something fun out of the crafting/building systems, who knows, because everyone knows they'll not be able to nail any of the aspects that made Fallout good.

Still, I didn't play a single second of FO3 and I'm mostly just looking forward to someone making a Codex LP of FO4.

Agreed but the title and the occasional glimpses of Vault suits and Nuka Cola are enough to remind you that this is supposedly Fallout 4 and not just a random action adventure game.

New Vegas also proved that Fallout can exist in some form even in today's gaming climate (gaming climate has to be the cuntiest phrase of all time), so it's irritating - although hardly surprising - that Bethesda have completely ignored and rejected any lessons they could have taken from it and instead opted to streamline and casualize further.

I like the crafting and the whole settlement thing and the Enclave armor, the vault suit being a proper suit. I think should put EVERYONE in the game in power armor, then nobody will notice how crap and lifeless the NPCs are.

Thats about it really, VATs slowmo is dumb, the 200 year old robot is dumb, going overboard with the 1950s is getting a little tiresome, would it kill them to throw a bit more futurism in the fashion? Dialog wheel is completely dumb. Mass Fallout 4, Fallout Effect 4 etc etc.

I'm sure we can all get suitably outraged when we find out how the plot is the glorious righteous noble and sanctified Brotherhood of KickAss is comming in blimps to free the androids and defeat the Enclave again.
Maybe in your fantasy world. In real world there is piratebay :P

Quote the wrong person brah?

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
The biggest problem in DooM was that you couldn't play a strong black otherkin woman that doesn't need no man.
