I would barely kill them in a full clip burst since their fedoras absorbed so much incoming damage.
That shit isn't even unique to the survival mode. I once tried to hold back rescuing Nick until I had a shitload of .45, so I could go all Mafia gangster on those fedorafags.
Ahahaha, nope.
At level 30 or so they had such a ridiculous hidden DR, I had to empty whole drums from a two-shot tommygun into their faces to drop. Was immediately reminded of that shitty hidden DR/DMG bonus the NPCs in Point Lookout had.

Bethesda gonna Bethesda.
:hearnoevil:
Didn't stop them to make them idiotic at times like nuking Institute instead of salvaging their technology just for the sake of blowing shit up.
Ironically that's actually pretty much in character for them. Prewar technology is holy and must be collected, preserved and maybe improved.
But everthing new made not by them is dangerous and will only lead to the end of the world! They didn't want you to keep the master's/mutant's base in salvageable condition either in FO1. Better safe than sorry.
Also the institute didn't have anything worth salvaging actually. F:NV made it clear that Bros are not interested in things outside of weapon technolgy. Farming? Nah, that's what extorting the peasants is for. The institute energy weapons are actually worse than their prewar lasers and no need for the stormtrooper armor when you have Powah Amoah. Teleporter tech is most likely already in their possession if you had them build the relay.
Plus the FEV research in the facility made nuking the shit the only sane option.

"We're gonna make Far Harbor great again!"
Last line spoken by Allen Lee after completing the main quest siding with Far Harbor, banning all muslimsChildren of Atom with a nuclear detonation and lynch mobbing the synths.
:mrpresident:
What's great is that even if you side with Far Harbor or the Children you can still turn on them afterwords and use Arcadia's fail safes against them, pretty much killing them all. Far Harbor is better without Bethesda NPCs populating it.

Pretty sure there is a pacifist ending, I had to use speech to convince Arcadia to go to war with both factions each time, Far Harbor is more than willing to go to war with the Church of Atom, but there are characters that disagree with that course of action. Convincing far harbor to attack Arcadia also requires a lot of evidence, given how much effort it took to destroy them all I feel like a pacifist ending is possible, not sure though. At the least I think you can replace the Children of Atom's leader with a synth, which creates peace, in a roundabout way.

It's not like the Church of Atom is a very endearing faction. If this is the best DLC FO4 has to offer then I'm not really regretting my decision to go with the base game for $20 and not worry about a GOTY edition.

Yeah their choice of villain is pretty pathetic.
Also I thought the whole survival aspect in Far Harbor is gonna be very very harsh with lots of terrain to traverse n such but following the NPC guide i manage to locate the synth settlement within 10 mins after shooting like 3 set pieces mobs. The the rad meter moved constantly, but in Power Armor, you're still fine. Hence, this is what would happen, if you make Dead Money DLC with full gear carried in to the DLC.

There's just no sense of danger unless you knowingly gimped yourself.

tl;dr: modders don't want (and mostly just can't because physical limitation/impossibilities) to port their mods to console, peasants protesting by spamming, threatening and whining on bethesda.net/nexus/even social media. that got bunch of modders pissed and intentionally made script extender as requirement and act as "DRM" for mods on consoles

maybe he/she should just tag it, so when they download it to their ps4/xbone, it will corrupt everything including the console's OS hahahaha.

as if porting a mod is as easy just "tagging" it so consoles can download it

Well, to be fair, it is that easy.

There's nothing too complicated in uploading mods to xb1 or ps4 other than you have to do separate uploads because of platform differences.

Seems Bethesda wants to end modding for some reason. First the pay-for-mods shitshow now this.

I knew this was going to happen. A bigger shitstorm is bound to happen when people can't mod the game at all because they don't want/can't use Bethesda's modding rules.
The console peasant butthurt is funny, but I'm afraid Bethesda will listen to them and not the modders. Fallout 4 has been a crash course on how to fuck your reputation.

Some good stuff in that reddit post.

I've been modding games Since the first Doom (I made .wads and skins) and it's allways been amazing fun.
People apreciate that you extend their game experience and often offer their own skills to make mods even better, resulting in mod teams that can compete with dev teams. Everybody is always respectfull.
Even on loverslab, a mod community build upon perversion and depravity, people are friendly and polite.

And now Mods are coming to consoles.
Gone is the respect and proper behaviour.
Since a month or two consoles owners are spamming up Bethesda.net and the nexus with some very offensive messages showing bizarre feelings of entitlement. As a result you guys are literally making modding less fun.

Bethesda forums is filled with these questions:
"When will mods come to xbox/ps4?"
"How can I download creation kit to xbox"
"I own fallout for xbox, why must I own it on pc to make mods, no fair!"
Like, whole pages of it. The question is answered every time but no one reads apparently and it's just asked again by the next console player showing literally zero understanding of proper netiquette.

On bethesda's forum page the comments on my mod are 4 pages of "plz bring to xbox" Even though it says in the description I designed it specifically to work on xbox (simple scripts, no hi-res assets)

On the nexus console owners are posting rants about us asshole PCMR modders who "refuse" to bring mods to consoles.
I have been called an asshole because I can't bring a mod that uses third party libraries over to console. It's literally impossible to port this mod to console. I explain this and they come with calling names and posing solutions that I should consider. I've been called a dickweed because I removed a feature from the console version of another mod. It caused lag on a monster pc, it would kill a console. Yet this was a bad decision on my part.
I've been threatened because "I paid for the damn game, I have the right to use that mod!"
There has even been a poll on bethesda.net posted by console players that modders who refuse to release for console should be permabanned.
I mean wat? holy fucking sense of entitlement.

Etc, etc, etc.

Dear console owners. Could you please just stop and let us enjoy our hobby?
We do not work for bethesda. This is our hobby. You are not entitled to anything in this matter.

Sad thing is, I actually think some of the damage is done.

I've heard tell of a mod or two being ganked from nexus, and uploaded for use by Xbone users. I've seen many modders complain about the entitlement factor.

Sadly, and most of all...I've seen modders talk (maybe seriously, maybe sarcastically) about requiring F4SE and implementing it as a form of DRM to keep their mods off Betheda net and consoles. Simply because they have no desire to support console mods, and the onslaught of kiddies who act like jackasses, act entitled...and scream and shout. Simply because, using F4SE means you have more of a headache free experience when releasing content you are, in fact...making for free.

That's what these kids do not get: these mods are being made, and given away.

I'm currently planning out a couple mods, and I can tell you: I am very tempted to make F4SE a part of my spec for this very reason. I've visited the "new and improved" bethesda forums...I have to say...I really have no desire to have to log into it again. It's badly managed, they have children working as mods and suspending/banning people...and it's just a cess pool.

That whole place is just a travesty. It's badly operated, managed and horrible to have to navigate.

The sad thing is, when they announced mods for consoles...even though I am a PC user...I was hoping it would be a great success. To help level the field a bit. To improve the experience for all players.

What it's becoming, is a shit show. The reason is solely on the backs of the people at Bethesda. While they are not responsible for what people say...they are responsible for the people flinging shit across the rooms of their house. I've seen people banned/suspended for simply using the phrase PCMR...meanwhile kids acting like entitled twats are being given pass when they act like ass clowns; which just perpetuates the cycle of bullshit.

Seriously...it's enough to make modders, and Fallout fans...stay on Nexus, or even LL if they are so inclined. Because...who wants to make things for free, only to be greeted by ungrateful, unparented crotchfruit.

The only ones who will suffer here, are the adults. The ones who know how to be respectful, and use complete sentences. That's the actual tragedy here.

Console kids. I guess it's true. They are a blight on the industry.

EDIT:

From the same thread:

This really bothers me already because we are cutting armour and features to accommodate for consoles already.

Haha fuck. Even mods are getting this treatment now because of limited hardware. There will be no winners from this.

Just went to upload a test mod, that was rather unfinished, unoptimized and also broke the main quest and guess what.

I filled in the name, packed the files, and it just uploaded to the xbox one like that. No evidence of any restrictions at all.

Modders are just overdramatic people who can't handle any criticism of their work, consoles aren't going to change a thing.

So wait, you have to use some official Bethesda thing to publish mods now? You can't just download from the Nexus and install like the old days?

It works the same way as Steam Workshop. It's just yet another website where you can upload stuff. Yet another one trying to make your one-stop-shop for mods which achieves the opposite.

The author of the NCR Veteran Ranger and x-02 power armor was contemplating taking his mods down and quitting due to the shitty modding community, one of the main reasons was that peasants had re-uploaded his mods seven times since Bethesda launched their hosting site.
Ungrateful PCMR eltists, don't they realize that without consoles there would be no modding scene? If it weren't for consoles all video games would probably be dumbed down or not available at all.
Mod authors just need to whisper down, "No."

Hmm, yeah, if your LOD isn't switching something else is fucked. IT could be something else is using your hard drive heavily, or your inis are fucked. Try deleting them and regenerating them.
I did do that, also started a new game because 3 broken quests is enough for me.

Anyway, the ini remake did seem to improve meshes and textures loading from time to time. Haven't seen any entrances stuck in LOD mode. Have seen a slew of new bugs crop up doe, well it's Bethesda.

Had situations where doorways wouldn't load the door data fully. You'd see a door, but no message about interacting with it. Trying to go through it you ended up in the worldspace. Some spawn bugs. In the previous game I got respawning NPCs in certain locations, those are gone, replaced by respawning NPCs in other locations. Go figure. Also cell reset bugs here and there, but that's fine by me, more loot. It's possible the cell reset bug is made worse by Automatron filling random containers with junk items for the eyebot quest, as for some reason it inits before you can even make one.

BOS quest triggered correctly this time. Started Automatron too as mentioned; initially I got spawn variety, eventually getting more and more robots/rust devils. Probably going to be full rust devil spawns once I finish mechanist lair, like last time.

I don't get it. Loot lists and spawn points are something anyone with even a tiny bit of knowledge of xEdit can fix, unless you work at Bethesda.

First gen i5, gtx 960. 6 gigs of mem.

Before you say, lol u underspecced jew, I've seen a dozen reports of similar issues with way overspecced systems. Also some people crash like a mother, not sure if they're trying to run it on a toaster or what, meanwhile I've had 2-3 CTDs ever.

2600k, 16 gigs of memory and two 970's in SLI yet the Dunwich Quarry and the immediate surrounding area have had messed up, bulging white meshes since day one. I finished both parts of the quest and otherwise avoid that part of the map like the plague.

The modding scene has always included a certain amount of ego, melodrama and perversion. Adding a bunch of entitled folks who barely understand the basics of modding was always going to turn out badly. Might as well reintroduce paid mods and make this a full bowl of crap soup.
