They're sequels made by the company that owns Fallout. Soon Fallout will be Bethesda property for a longer time and with more titles than when it was Interplay/Black Isle's.

Let it go, it's not 2007 anymore.

Bethesda has yet to deliver ONE Fallout game. All they gave the world until now are shooter/hiking-spinoffs.
They made Fallout 3 and 4.

The assets in fallout 1/2 are made from 3D models.

If someone, somehow, made a new, official TB-ISO Fallout title, they would probably use full 3D characters even if its 2D iso - already been done in Fallout Tactics.

A new iso-tb Fallout would probably be something like Pillars of Eternity or Shadowrun Returns - built in a 3D engine with a fixed isometric perspective, creating a illusion of 2D.

Would't surprise me if until 2025 we got a iso-TB Fallout spin-off. There's clearly a HUGE untapped demand there, all those Fallout-likes (AoD, Wasteland 2, Underrail, etc etc) didn't come out of somebody's ass. They can market it on "nostalgia" and shit.

My bet: A new Fallout Tactics game made for pc/portables. Think Fallout Tactics with the mechanics of nuXcom.

Indeed, a well-done Fallout title, with a good budget (as opposed to these Kickstarter budgets) would be incredible.

Wasteland 2 isn't Fallout, AoD isn't Fallout, Underrail isn't Fallout. The Fallout brand sells. People will buy it because of "nostalgia", because of actual love, and some popamole faggots will buy it out of interest.

Not real 3D plz.
Yes real 3D. Same real 3D as WL2, or New Vegas.

Concept mock-up, using New Vegas
Maybe I'm being extremely naive, but I always thought that an Isometric Fallout title, at least pixel-based as opposed to polygon-based, had the potential to be modded by all kinds of people. I would have a much easier time drawing new equipment instead of using meshes, textures, and the like.
It's far easier to make & mod with 3D assets. The main reason Fallout still chugs ~even today, is that it has to load all of those sprite-sheets; and this was also the reason that many NPC's could not use all of the weapons; their sprite sheets lack the animations for some of them. Modding those animations remains a big hurdle to those who would mod a 2D game with traditional 2D methods.

If modding even a 2D game is easier done with 3D assets, then that alone is reason enough not to bother with making the engine 2D. ToEE, Pillars, and WL2 are good examples of the engine style to use; and Troika's FO3 candidate [never so-named], is a fantastic example.
A new iso-tb Fallout would probably be something like Pillars of Eternity or Shadowrun Returns - built in a 3D engine with a fixed isometric perspective, creating a illusion of 2D.
Would it need to be fixed perspective(?) ...or merely a good depiction of combat miniatures, as seen in 'Dawn of War'; a same style view for the same reasons as Fallout. DoW was fixed perspective by default, but supported full rotation of the level, and even variable camera pitch.

New video and discussion. Awaiting this with baited breath after running through Brazil and 1.5 resurrection and waiting for Nevada.

Couple of years ago it could have been "Radioactive" or some shit. Shit trendy music is shit.

Looking at the trailer you could say that the mod is being made by people who are more like minded to Bethesda and their vision of Fallout. :smug:
