Look out Cyberpunk! Now New Vegas lets you drive around and run people over. If it has playable pachinko machines, it's confirmed best RPG ever.

:shredder:
They actually did it, the absolute mad men!
That song is ear fucker though.

Maybe this will be good but I am keeping my expectations low. That story summery still doesn't convince me why the NCR deserters has such a huge army up north. So apparently the NCR allowed a huge chunk of there army to go renegade and take a lot of their weapons with them too. So the NCR did nothing to stop any of this coup de'tat.

Well umm yea?
At the time of Blackthorne's escape, the NCR was already fighting the Legion.
We saw in the base game that the army was suffering from a severe shortage of manpower.
Sending even more infantry to the icy lands of the North is tantamount to suicide and is not worth it.

Okay, I haven't really had much impetus to play on the Fallout 3 platform ever again, but this might just change things...

How did that mod end up?
It wasn't bad as long as you were inside the Vault, the moment you leave everything turns into shit.
-Cringy teenage melodrama
-Wattpad tier plot
-Raped lore
-Empty open world
-Infinite spawn trash mobs

You forgot to mention female Legion spy

I wouldn't be surprised if that was another big project abandoned after massive criticism.
That or finishing it takes more time and there is not much to show.

-Raped lore
that's just Bethesda going Bethesda with Fallout IP

To be fair, and having played more than my share of NV mods, New California is top tier for fan-made and worth a playthough (or two) in it's final state. And it's free. They did a pretty good job with the factions and questlines and use a fair number of skill checks that affect plot and character building. Agree entirely on the teen-cringe, though. I can think of two spots with infinite mobs and both are plot devices to force the PC along. As for lore-raping, it's more than a few notches better than the giant bats and gem-studded ghouls in 76.

This a pretty ambitious project, but if I'd rather wait for this

if I'm going to fire up New Vegas ever again.
This didn't age well.
Indeed, too bad. New Vegas modders can't be trusted to put out actual quality stuff worthy of the classical Fallouts legacy. Fallout of Nevada, 1.5: Resurrection, together with the upcoming Mutants Rising and Sonora are where it's at.
