are you a new breed of viral marketing drone that tries to bolster firaxis' xcom sales by making people associate illiterate retards with xenonauts?

some choice quotes, which may or may not be taken out of context.
Military intervention is called for and the poor chumps end up as dead as the civilians they were supposed to rescue. Time to gather Earth’s best and brightest, time to send in the elite, time to put a sad-eyed excuse of a man in charge of the last line of defense. A stirring sequence informed me that I was now Earth’s only hope, the commander of the newly formed XCOM Initiative.
Every alien enjoys an introduction but their placement is still randomised, even if the maps are not.
Assurances were given that there will be many maps for each type of event, whether a terror mission or a UFO crash site, and that their order will be randomly determined, as will placement and number of aliens.
So, these new XCOM folks don’t have to buy weaponry, they don’t need to manufacture the basics or buy them from the local discount arms dealer. There are, presumably, hundreds of rocket launchers just waiting to be taken into the field but a squaddie must be promoted before he/she is able to use them.

Apparently, managing a chain of bases is too much nowadays. The "shipment arrival cam" turned out to be less exciting than the "headshot cam".

Why do they talk so much about dioramas and iconic images?

Rebates on materials if you build your workshops next to each other? The fuck....

Oh, so instead of a bunch of specialized bases you get one base and you are forced to choose an approach. Meh.

pre-order
Additionally, those of you who decide to pre-order the game will get guaranteed access to a launch feature that we're calling the Elite Soldier Pack. Now, I could tell you about the aesthetic upgrades you can apply to your armor with this pack, such as the Hyperion and Reaper soldier armor kits. I could also tell you about how you'll get access to a full color customization feature for all of the armor sets in the game. But both of those, in my humble opinion, pale in comparison to my favorite part.
You know that dude from the original X-COM with the blonde hair and the cheesy flattop?

That's right, you get him.

nextgen epic gear and dyes for the newshits

old school fanservice for the original players

no thanks

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
I just skimmed over an article of a German gaming magazine and it implies this game will be a lot like Enemy Unknown: permanent death for soldiers and the tutorial is 2 1/2 hours long (shame on them for having a tutorial instead of just a manual). It compared the game to the original and Incubation.

This, to me, is a good sign.

Edit: Then again, looking over the last couple of pages in this thread... meh. It'll probably be shit. :skyway:

Fucking hell, how could they ruin the Chrysalids? Seriously? Character design is fucking shit in this game but how the fuck have they gone from this to this? I loathed what they done with the Mutons but this...
