Gotta love how no one is even remotely interested in buying it.

^^^Yeah, you can see in the initial vision it was supposed to be more of a horror game like the original but they made a decision to drop that element at some point in favor of a pure WH40K skirmish kinda ruleset and RPG class/skill tree characters.

That video doesn't look any better than what we're getting. If anything it looks worse (Camera closer to the action, suspicious AP/TU system running concurrently with aliens, possible bunching of soldiers into "Single units of two"). You guys are just acting like it's so much better because the soldiers are less stylized. :rpgcodex:
Pff to that I say. Pff! Feast your eyes on this glorious preorder armor and hair!

This is so over the top that it almost looks like a parody in on itself. Mayhaps that's what they aim for?
Anyway, still sure I will buy the game when it comes out. :P

Holy fuck, that classic Xcom hair looks like shit. It's like they taped a buffer to his head and called it a day.

I think they got inspired more by this guys here than by classic XCOM

Ah, so that's the tough choices you make in this game. In dire need of fresh recruits, X-Com starts a recruiting drive in North Jersey to enlist troops for the Power Ranger brigade.

How does this compare to UFO: Extraterrestrials (+Bman Mod)?
I haven't tried the demo, because it doesn't run on WinXP.

Wow, overwatch works with squad sight. I wonder if that skill that lets you shoot again if you kill someone that's out of cover refreshes your overwatch on kills during the enemy turn

Also the #1 multiplayer troll is going to be hiding a floater with the high fly ability in a different corner of the map over and over for 50 turns

It won't happen in most instances. Although at higher levels there is an ability that'll let you shoot a second time in overwatch, provided the first one connects. It must be noted that shots during overwatch have an accuracy penalty. If the target is dashing, it lowers it even further, if he has the Lightning Reflexes perk, it avoids the shot altogether.

As for the floater high fly ability, I think it might be something you can do once, if not it'll at least have a cooldown for a few turns.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I love the first sentence: "Turn-based games have a thin line to walk in order to keep players engaged."

Watched 25 minute video presumably of the final version of the game. They do two missions. Seen the two maps multiple times from other videos.

God damn it Firaxis. Game looks so good, why'd you gotta fuck it up with non-randomly generated maps?

I already said that. They were unable to mod what they used as an engine. Basically they are victim of a third party SW. Also they are incompetent enough to not link kernel.lib properly.
