About a year ago you guys said this game suck(ed) and now you all are cumming over it. Nevertheless this thread has made me got the game though, as I was extremely fond of DD1 myself.
And yeah, the game is very nice indeed. While I find it resemble more like Two Worlds rather than actual DD, I find it superior in regards of being a 3rd person actiony RPG. At first I almost moaned at how many actions the game has - almost claim it a popamole - but then I realized, even when exploring in a dungeon, there are 40% of the time spent on conversations or puzzle solving.
The world, while not as big or sandboxy as Two Worlds or TES, it is packed full with contents and hidden secrets to explore and is never dull to wander around. Without referring to the wiki I would miss alot of the quests and items, and even after referring to it I've already missed two pieces of set items.
The dialogue is quite fresh too, it doesn't use stupid pretentious old English from Two Worlds and doesn't take itself too seriously, lots of humor everywhere, but still managed to make me feel attached to the story and characters.
What I don't really buy is the strange loot system (Completely randomized chests everytime you open it?) and the crazily randomized item attritubes (seems too dull and too whacky even compared to Diablo), and the lack of magic (there's like only 3 to 4 serious mage attack spells). Also, while you guys claim the skill system is good, I find it rather blah, because there's no restriction at learning different skills at all, you you can take top tier warrior or ranger skills even though you've invested none in those classes before. But maybe that's what the game supposed to work though, as a Dragon Slayer is more or less a Witcher - a multiclassed figher/mage/rogue who can fight and fire and do acrobatics equally fine.
BTW, does it hurt that I miss out set items (I've missed the chance to pick up at least 1 piece of them, and the area is sealed off forever it seems)? Being a perfectionist I just don't feel well missing stuff out.
