Seems GOG will be having an interview with Larian Studios about Dragon Commander on Wednesday April 10, at 2:00PM GMT just before they start accepting pre-orders. See the news post here.

Wow, I didn't know Dragon Commander was a full $50 game. I'm not big on strategy so I will have to wait for a pretty massive sale, sadly. I would throw them $20 but not $50.

Good thing i spend a lot on kickstarters lately otherwise I would have bought many of this weekends Interplay Classics.

Edit: Fuck it just bought M.A.X. 1&2! Damn me...
As I found out recently, there is no such thing as "I spent all my money on something". There is always some money for one more kickstarter or one good game on GOG.

Except for Castles, Conquest of the New World, and physical copies of the Fallout games I don't have any of these games.
And of those I have I've only barely played Castles and Fallout 1. I'll give Fallout 1 another chance some day, but Castles was too real time for my taste in strategy games.

Can Shattered Steel and the Freespace and Descent games be played properly without a stick/pad?

Tell me about Sacrifice. Is any good? It looks interesting.

Redneck Rampage and Kingpin look like fun FPS'es. Are they?

Stonekeep: To me this was the very first sign of The Decline when I saw a buddy of mine play it. I still remember feeling rather disgusted by the use of cinematic cutscenes, and gameplay that looked dull compared to Dungeon Master and its clones.
So I think I'll skip this one.

Why is Lionheart considered a turd? Judgin solely by the screenshots it "should have been" good.

Invictus: In the Shadow of Olympus also looks promising based on the screenshots. Is it turn based or real time? Control or clusterfuck?

Haha. Play it and find out. At the very least, you'll have a grand old time playing through the opening city of Barcelona. Then... then your smile will slowly fade.

Any suggestions by the Codex Hivemind? Obv. buying F&F2 just in case both of my physical copies magically desintegrate at the same time.

Definitely MAX; never played the sequel, though.

I think I might pick it up since I pirated it a few years back. At the very least, I'm guaranteed to enjoy it more than fucking SupCom.

"Interesting" is probably the best way to put it. Loved how the campaign was setup and the gameplay felt unique and enjoyable enough for me to finish a playthrough.

It's the only RPG other than Fallout to use SPECIAL. This is one of the game's best aspects. The other great aspect is the setting. The alternate history universe where magic and demons exist is really, really interesting and well done, with some logical effects on society, trade, politics, nation borders, and so on. There are also some great quests and they use a few historical figures in them, like Leonardo Da Vinci. You also get to hobnob with groups like the Spanish Inquisition, who have become a fanatical order dedicated to destroying all non-holy magic.

The problem is that after the opening city of Barcelona, which is possibly one of the better/best quest hubs in any CRPG of the last 15 years, the game turns into an extremely boring and repetitive combat grind with almost no variation for the remaining 70% or so. And combat in Lionheart sucks gigantic balls - it's like Diablo if you made all enemies move 3x too fast, made the controls imprecise and awkward, and gave the game terrible balance between classes and skills. There are a few hints of good ideas like the fact that certain enemies are almost immune to you and will completely kick your ass if you are not prepared for them, but otherwise it's just endless dungeon crawling.

The worst part about Lionheart is that you can see the incredible potential in the beginning of the game. With mods it could have been substantially improved, maybe even saved. But, there are no mods, no fan patches, no nothing for it, not even a high-res patch. I would say it's probably worth $2.50-5.00 or so just for Barcelona, but I would stop playing after that as you probably won't be having fun by that point.

EDIT: Seems someone did actually make mods for it, see here:

http://www.moddb.com/games/lionheart-legacy-of-the-crusader/mods

Doesn't seem very worthwhile though, just level tweaks that make you gain XP faster and slight rebalance of perks.

They are.

Redneck Rampage is awesome. Or at least that's the way I remember it to be.
