Demon Stone is a more refined Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance, a hack/slash action rpg, has some nice voice work as a bonus.

Dragonshard i never played, it's set in the same universe as D&D online i think, which i never enjoyed, and is some sort of RTS.

NWN2 has some nice expansions, although the original campaign is quite bad. I recommend playing Mask of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir, the first for it's story, the second for the overland map exploration and the interesting character builds.

Funny, I got the whole lot sans Dragonshard and Demon Stone at Gamestop/Impulse for 8,35 € a little while ago.
:kingcomrade:

Of course, you then have to put up with Impulse, so if you didn't want that, the GoG offer is probably the cheapest way to get that stuff.

Edit: NWN2 OC is not bad, imho, just a bit generic. It has a few nice moments though. YMMV.

NWN 2 - banal shit boring
MOTB - awesome storyfag game
SOZ - good ideas, bad implementation; you can finally create a full custom party which was a definite plus for me
MOW - never played it, but apparently it's a decent storyfag experience

SOZ has best party dialogue system I've seen but the premise is so boring I made only to Keep, got unrecognized and quit. MOW is hard to get but MOTB is brilliant the best Obsidian game so far and they're some good modules for MOTB.

I found SOZ to be pretty entertaining, as you say the dialogue system is nice, there are loads of environmental and conversation skill checks, and you get to play with a full custom party, story wise it is shit.

MOTB should be on everyone's play list at some point, it's a great expansion and game engine not withstanding, it's the best D&D game in god knows how long.

Yeah, they did fuck up. They borrowed modders' work to "enhance" the game, and released a broken game that took months of extensive patching to fix (not sure if the game is bug-free even now). Which is quite ironic considering the game has worked with all the enhancements without any problems for years.

And it was also a pathetic cash grab, charging $ 20 for a 15 year old game. They added some companions plus romances, though, if you're interested.

Yeah, just get the GOG version and mod it, you'll end up with the better experience.
