I watched reviews from more casual people today and they were much more positive. Input lag was barely mentioned in any of them, and when it was they said it was "fine." The dirty secret is this thing is made for casuals to fuck around with for an hour after they put the kids to bed, and those people don't give a shit about quality or consumer rights, only convenience. That's why one of these services will succeed eventually, though probably not this one if they keep fucking up the business model.

"The Washington Post's Gigabit Ethernet" has as much informational value as the special environments google used to tease Stadia.
Guess it's too much to ask from these fuckers to dig a bit deeper and check where the servers are and if there are special routes in place (stuff google promised/implied).

Google Stadia game service will be launched tomorrow, November 19. Some international media have already tested the “revolutionary” product from Google and share their final opinions.

Most critics agree that now Stadia is at the stage of beta-testing: many functions do not work yet, and the quality of the picture and the response is poor.

If you are constantly suffering from the limitations of your Internet service provider, you will surely avoid Stadia.

  • IGN.
There is no reason why anyone should be using Stadia now.

  • The Verge.
If you’re looking forward to the same level of graphics clarity and instant management response as a powerful gaming PC or console, you’ll probably be a little disappointed.

  • Financial Post.
The biggest problem with Stadia is that the service doesn’t give you a smooth gaming experience at the start of the game.

  • Polygon.
A look into the future that may be another company will realize.

  • PC World.
One of the many challenges at Stadia is that you and I may have very different experiences.

  • VentureBeat.
Under the right conditions and with a powerful connection, Stadia feels like a potential leap into the future, and streaming games feel like magic.

  • GamesRadar.
Streaming of games from Google is too limited and unreliable and brings too little benefit.

  • Ars Technica.
I wouldn’t buy a Stadia kit at this time, just because many features will not be available until the beginning of 2020.

  • Yahoo Finance.
Google Stadia works perfectly in perfect testing conditions, but that does not mean that the service is worth using right now.

  • Screenrant.
The future of streaming games has not yet come.

  • CNET.

Stadia is completely pointless: If you want a system that is portable, has online games, has a lot of exclusives and upcoming games, just get a damn Switch! Nintendo has made this piece of shit system obsolete with its awesomeness, and I would rather play Mario Maker fanmade stages online than any Stadia game except maybe Red Dead Redemption 2 and Thumper, which are the only good ones on this disaster. This system will be confined to the same shit pile as the CDI, Virtual Boy, Nuon, Jaguar, N Gage and Xbox One.

I saw the footage of it running of gigabyte internet. I knew this would be bad, but I didn't see it being that bad on a fast connection. Lag looks so bad a turn based game would be unplayable. How the hell did this get out of internal testing?

https://twitter.com/MisterAntiBully/status/1196816117022507017 is just bullshit though. And there's so much to critique, no need to make up shit. That paste is just common sense stuff spelled out for clueless people (their target audience).

This is too slow for even correspondence chess. What happened to the negative latency?
