Just heard about this for the first time, curious about what the game actually is. Someone upthread said that the combat looks good, everything else in the last few pages appears to be culture wars tedium.

So what is this game? The Steam page doesn't really say anything except about the setting. I flipped around that gameplay video and it's just the first half hour, seems to be wandering around looking at the school and talking to kids in cutscenes. Is that it? What happens after the tutorial? Is it going to be about fighting hundreds of ghosts? Platforming around extradimensional spaces? Doing potion recipe puzzles? Just walking around watching cutscenes? If I play this game, what gameplay systems will I be spending my time with?

Reminds me a little bit of Bully - walking around a school, doing little GTA-style missions. Is that what they're going for?

You can't even punch people who cares what you can do when you can't do the most basic stuff.

, no ukrainian goddesses,
What? Oh you mean those bitches posing in military gear so Zelensky can get a hard-on?
Anyway, this game looks like shit,as I have said. Straight Witchcraft and Niggery(game set in the fuckin 1890s and half the students are niggers, get outta here).
If they would've made a Tom Riddle game where you can actually become a Dark Wizard, that could've piqued my interest.

Yep. Lets play as Barbarian in freaking Harry Potter!!!
What's faster, some nonce screaming Avada Kedabra or an AR-15?
I rest my case.
But seriously, why not have a melee Harry Potter build? Imagine if you have a juggernaut rushing a spellcaster. You pre-cast stoneskin then some dashing boots and you can elbow tackle a death eater before they can react.

There's that spell called Crucio. Used to inflict terrible pain on its target. More fucked up than the Killing Curse.
Obviously a big NO NO,because family friendly and all that.

The last gameplay trailer showed that crucio was an available spell if you chose certain sidequests. The long and short of it is: your friend has a family curse placed on him; wants to get rid of it; asks for your help; you venture into the family mauselum; catacomb quest; you reach the last stage; it's a crucio test. You have a morality choice: you either cast crucio on your friend to pass the test or submit yourself to the crucio torture (with permanent stat penalty, I guess).

Honestly surprised.
Didn't think they had it in them to include such spells.
Still looks like shit,however.

I'm guessing that you won't be able to use it outside some specific dialogue choices though (since it's a crime and the punishment for it is a life sentence in Azkaban). It'd be cool if you could have some hilariously evil options akin to a DS playthrough of KotOR in this game, but I heavily doubt it. And although the game has multiple endings confirmed, I'm guessing that they're just dependent on your house (going by the leaked house-specific achievement pertaining to your PC reaching the 'map chamber', whatever that is) rather than on some proper moral choices.

Apology not accepted, reject magic and return to might.
it's not as if the Harry Potter game is going to let you punch anyone either way
That's quitter talk. I watched ERYFKRAD's stream last year, he beat Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 using a melee only build. It fucking rocked and I expect him to make it work here too.

It would still be nice. If you decide to go the dark path, you better pay the price. Maybe not in the baby difficulty modes but in the harder ones I can see it comming. Then again, I don't think there were any stats to speak of in the trailers. Not that I want a boots of +1 Flippendo, but whatever.

I mean, it's a crime in the 80's when Harry Potter takes place. The setting is the early XiXth century, maybe Big Brother was not as advanced back then.

modern gamedevs trying to do historical games is always funny
it's at best, just an excuse to use digital costumes

Why play video games at all if all you're going to do is larp as yourself and look for characters to self-insert
