Currently playing Requiem as a caster and I appear to have run into a bug - after handing the flute to the lady bard in the Bard College, she gave me 3 skillups in 3 different magic skills. I am level 9. After this, I cannot seem to gain Progress towards level 10 by paying for training anymore.

Is this a bug or a dumbfuck feature?

You can train five times per level, to prevent you from becoming level 100 by sitting in town selling your crafted iron daggers. Just become level 10 naturally and you can train again.

Though from what RK is saying, part of GITTING GUD is apparently SUCKING DICKS. No wonder you guys like it so much.

Alternatively, you could not tanking blows with your bare chest. But sucking dicks is easier, yes :M

fix'd

edit: though I do enjoy hearing about RK's popamole bj adventures with the mod...

is there a good mod that removes level scaling?

edit: skyre tones it down, but Requiem is the only one I know of that removes it entirely...hammer's your best option tho.

Well the alternative is to take orders in the tavern correctly. Passing them their venison steaks, mead and such.
Get it wrong and the innkeeper will fuck you in the ass literally.
Even if you're a guy. Equality, bitches.

Also neglected to inform the high amount of harvested reagents from the wilds. All them snowberries made nice cash when converted to potions.
Anyways those days of being a porn star to enter college is behind her right now, just ghosted through the whole 'Recover Books' phase of the Mage Guild questline by donning a disguise with Speechcraft 50 (20 + (Speechcraft x 2) = Prostitution fee :M). The only one I had to kill was the Caller, cause I failed my Speech check.

Playing Requiem(Only requiem installed, nothing else other than SkyUI and Alternate Start installed as well SkyUI Because it's a requirement, and Alternate Start because my computers so awesome that the dumb ass fps locked skyrim intro bugs out on me 90% of the time.) for the first time in a while, hop in, realize it now deducts stamina slowly for moving at a sane pace, and has also lowered the walking speed.

Almost uninstalled at that point, continue playing though, go to embershard mine after assigning 2 points to one handed, and one point to light armor, it's a mine occupied by bandits right outside of Riverwood, where I had started and cheated myself an iron sword to go with my fur armor. Fighting the single door guard. Hit, blocked the second before I hit, even though the bandits back was turned. Half my stamina gone from the power attack. Manage to land a follow up, chink damage, even though she's also wearing fur armor and wielding an iron sword. She then hits me, half my health gone, proceed to block the next hit, which still takes a quarter of my health off, and hit her again for chink damage.

The fuck do you guys like this mod again? The wolves run away with you, so you can't easily farm them for skill anymore. Even then, you've got to deal with like 5-9 of them each time you fight them. I killed a wolf with an arrow, and it had 7 gold pieces, and a MAMMOTH SNOUT on it. Seriously the fuck do you guys like this mod for?

I understand your frustration in saying 'Hey I'm level one, I want to freelance and adventure on my own, I shouldn't be getting my ass kicked in starter area!' but that's not how Requiem works. They don't hand everything on a platter. Even at lvl 19 I still die to a random draugr arrow, but getting to the point where I unlocked the Apprentice Stone regeneration, with 150% Regeneration Robe + 200% from Mage's Circlet was really sweet. Compare to SkyRe where they seem content to just let you dominate everything from the get-go and suddenly the level scaling train caught up and overtake you at Lv 15+ - you start wondering since where fucking NPC mages start one shot killing you? And why are these bandit chiefs triggering insta-kill animations on second hits? Where's the reward for hitting lvl 20?

Well, if you're not trained in Light Armor, you definitely would suck a bit of stamina. I did notice that, and packed a lot of salmon lunches on trips.
Right now as a Lv 19 with just basic Agility training, I can run for a long time (Run, not sprint) without a net loss to stamina even when wearing the Necromancer's Amulet that gives -75% penalty to Stamina Regen. I didn't even need to pack lunches anymore.

As for warriors early battle, don't walk up to people straight up. Use arrows first. Lighty armored dudes are vulnerable to arrows. If you need help in kitting up, you should join fighter's guild (cause you're a fighter) Freelancing is tough shit. I hear the Thieves guild also hire phailures at pickpockets like you, their thief set is pretty sweet for starter armor. Full access to guild's gear = get better at killing. Also, get a companion.

Also, if you want easy places to train up your warrior skills, head to Dawnstar/Solitude and kill horkers. They're so slow my mage can just summon bound sword and swing swing swing with no fear.

Almost forgot, some sick kid in Windhelm wants you to rape a granny with a dagger. You could definitely take her on barehanded. I just loaded my save and checked. I did it butt naked, with no scratch. It sounds very much up your alley, douchebag.

Thanks for the advice, good to hear it does get better, and thank you for actually giving legitimate advice, I'd never gotten the Horker advice, I'm just mostly chuffed about a lot of stuff recently. I guess I'm just so used to Skyrim as a game that's relaxing to play, that requiem might not really be the best mod for me right now. I still keep coming back to it, though, for some reason, it just seems like a good mod, but every time I try it, it just ends with me raging about issues with the combat system, and how newbies can't really do MUCH at all. And skills seem to gain so slow it's not really fun to gain skills. I've killed 12 wolves so far, with arrows, I'm still at level 5 Marksman. And I don't even want to USE a bow, I'm just being forced to because of the wolves being fast, and running away.

Anyway, again, the mod just keeps me raging. So it's probably best not to play it.

Thanks, chucklefucker.

What? You don't want to use popamole tactics? That's not hardcore. You must wish you were playing doom or something. Requiem is just too hardcore for you. GIT GUD. :M

edit: though seriously, a lot of your complaints are pretty popamole. Give the mod a chance to display actual stupid stuff before griping about how hard it is.

Well, you have to admit that:

...is a helluva lot more creative than "git gud" ad nauseum for 12 pages.

Might wanna read the readme, as well. I know only faggots do that but it helps.

Well, there's not much else to say to you people. I played as an unarmed, unarmored altmer and only died when I wasn't paying attention/got too cocky so I find it really hard to have sympathy for you failures getting your buff warhammer-wielding nords in plate armor getting facerolled by common bandits. :M

yes, yes. we've been over this. you run and hide behind level geometry like rocks while casting spells or zig zag around like a mad crack fiend to game the archer/spell ai and pray you don't get instakilled. gosh, i guess i just can't be as hardcore as you.

Just have meat shields and have them aggro archers

(Remember to disable trap damage)

This is how people have fun in Requiem

That one seems almost cool but yes, it only touches items, and doesn't remove loot scaling entirely. Also it takes some liberties that if I wanted I'd install mods that take care of them.

Playing as Imperial with shield in Requiem is nice tactics too; even basic Shield can take 50% of Magic damage at 50 and Imperial gets Stamina boost; give him/her decent plate Armour and archers can't scratch ya. Shame that Testudo is not implemented in this game.
