I appreciate the werewolf perk tree and the new loot at least.

I took a hiatus from skyrim now that I got to serana in dawnguard.

I have no idea what you're talking about lambchop, Dawnguard is so far better presented and put-together than the majority of base Skyrim. You've got your perfect marysue waifu vampire, Serana, you've got a neat-looking vampire castle, and you have some mechanics that actually force you to roleplay as a vampire. I can't really think of any base Skyrim quests that are of this same quality. Granted, it could be a whole lot better, but it's not bad at all. I especially liked the Soul Cairn stuff, which has a bit of hidden content to it that actually makes it enjoyable to explore. ...once you can get past the hordes of frost skeletons and invisible assassins.

Insert Title Here Strap Yourselves In Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Divinity: Original Sin 2
Found Crossbow on some bandit and put the beginning of Downguard into 100th level using the superb ''Timing is everything'' mod. :incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline::incline:

Last thing your Dragonborn should care of are Vampires in the middle of Dragon Invasion and Civil War; put the beginning of Dragonborn past the ''Dragonslayer'' part of MQ too; might be too far though as PC being Dragonborn is public knowledge after Season Unending anyway.

Help me guys! I don't know if I should go to Loverslab and turn Skyrim into a brown loli rape simulator or if I should go to Nexus and install Requiem plus every lore-friendly mod that I find.

So generally explored the South as a level 15 heavy armour one-hander + conjuration support, and Requiem certain isn't the insane punitive crackpot mod some thought it was once you get past the first few levels. I think it's questionable how they balanced it up to level 5, but after that it's enjoyable. I like the fact that when I find lower level bandits I can slice through them in a couple of hits, take no damage, but if I'm not careful I can get an arrow in the face or a giant axe down the back and have to reload.

I imagine it's far easier with followers, but I never liked those anyway.

Personally I think sex/rape/nude mods are just as decline furthering as any other decline based degeneracy. If I want porn I'll just use the internet. Needing to jack off whilst gaming seems like something stoners and call of duty bro's do.

Is dawnguard that bad? never even bothered playing it.
It's not bad per say. It's just not above the quality level of the rest of Skyrim. Not sure what bros were expecting there... Also, some people don't like the vampire lord stuff or the fact that there is one friendly NPC that you really should have the choice to kill, but don't, so "story on rails". How unusual in Skyrim.

I found it Good For What It Is™ on the whole. It adds 2 new factions and crossbows to the game, as well as gives vampire PCs a powerup and either path you choose, you'll get an awesome new stronghold.

Off topic but:

Loverslab's people are awesome actually. They're very competent and nice and have a ton of constructive advises regarding technical problem. In some way they're even more helpful than the STEP project forums.

I've deleted my another 30 hours character because of CTD CTD CTD CTD EVERYWHERE. I had crash when enter a building, crash when exit a building, crash while looting, crash while smithing, crash I've used ENBoost, Safety Load, cleaned all the esm files, used BOSS to sort out a good working mod order, no uGrid editing, but still crashes after 1 to 1.5 hours of gameplay. I've looked at hundreds of pages on various forums. The only thing left that I can do and I think can be useful is removing almost ALL mods that use scripts, which include shit that I can't live without such as Enhanced Blood Texture, Convenient Horses, Balanced Magic, ASIS, Wet and Cold and others. Probably also remove those mods which claim to use no scripts at all, such as Immersive Patrols and SkyTEST. Heck, NO MOD IS INNOCENT. For example Player Headtracking claims that I can just disable it, make a new save and then delete the mod...but after crashing I've found in the papyrus log that there are still references of it.

Oh god I hate this game...

Heresiarch, did you do any extensive ini tinkering?
Some advices floating around the web are very dubious and actually cause crashes.
E.g. I was troubled by constant crashing until I removed the changes I had made to
iMinMemoryPageSize, iMaxMemoryPageSize and iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes in the Papyrus section.

Allegedly they will give Papyrus more memory and through this improve performance and stability.
In reality, the opposite is happening if you use too large numbers. I wouldn't go higher than 4x the standard values.

No, I don't use AS. I don't tinker much with the ini files either, the only thing I did was extending the script loading time from 500 to 2000 (which was useless as 40% of the crashes have nothing to do with script loading time during zone transitions). I tinkered with the shadow distance (6500, while 4000 is default high setting and 8000 for ultra). The thing is, the game crash only if I have been to different areas only, especially after clearing out a dungeon, then if I travel to a city (by horse) then enter a building or exit one, BAM. CTD. It feels like that the game doesn't clear out memories properly (it's not due to 3.1Gb limit as I have ENBoost installed) and then when it reaches critical mass it will crash. I don't know if I PCB after every dungeon can help but that's absolutely immershun brakin...

My zeroth rule of mod installation is "If you don't know if you need it, you don't need it".
Itz like that thing DraQ was talking about.

Can you post your mod list? Unless there's the .esm and then only one Requiem.esp...

Also, do you (and everyone else) suffer from CTDs after an hour or so of playing, especially if you've finished a couple of dungeons and travelled around alot?

I do suffer for periodic CTDs because bethesda.
But I still don't crash all the time.

I don't know how you consider it is "periodic". As for me, the game won't crash if I haven't been to dungeon + city + world map all in one sitting. That's why I got the illusion that my game was stable as I spent 4 hours without CTD in Markarth - because Markarth has dungeons, buildings, and the city itself, all without the need to travel outside. Now, in any other cities the game won't show mercy - I'll spend 15 minutes shopping and getting quests in a city, 5 to 10 minutes to travel on the overmap, 30 to 45 minutes in a dungeon, 10 minutes back to a town, enter a building...crash. So yeah, that's exactly 1 to 1.5 hours for me before CTD.

I'm running the game now with most script using mods removed. It SEEMS to be pretty stable so far. Some big mods with scripts or mods that put a lot of extra AI or actors in the game that I've sacrificed:

- Player Headtracking
- Footprints
- Enhanced Blood Textures
- Wet and Cold
- Convenient Horses
- SkyTEST
- More Farm Animals
- Immersive Patrols
- Balanced Magic

Script intensive mods or mods that could be resource intensive but I don't know if there are scripts I'm still using:

- Frostfall
- Realistic Needs
- Deadly Combat
- Deadly Dragons
- Run For Your Lives
- When Vampires Attack
- Inconsequential NPCs

With the former mods removed, the world suddenly became so lame: bloodspattering is tiny, there are no footprints on snow, there are no snow on my and NPC bodies, people don't have the cold breathing effect anymore, the roads lack those travelling merchants, my character can't turn her neck, my horses are no more convenient while my follower won't ride them anymore, farm barns are less populated...

The irony is the limitation of Skyrim modding is its own engine and unless Bethsoft rewrite the whole game in 64 bit and develop a new script engine, we PC players are stuck with limited quantity of mods to use unless you don't care of breaking the game. Fortunately we still have geniuses who made utilities such as ENBoost, Safety Load and TES5Edit.
