Is it trendy in RPGCodex to dislike Bethesda, Bioware, etc?

Who or what is drog?

Lol. So fucking predictable

Yeah, I have to start using different terminology :)

You guys do realize I am actually pretending to be Drog now and the joke is on you right? Just thought I would let you know that..

I mean, if you follow the tone of this thread, you can tell when I started to find this humorous and decided to flow with it for entertainment reasons. Reading up, this guy did some amazing work on Arcanum. Calling me Drog is a compliment.

I have not had this much fun in an internet thread in a long time.

If you'd just take the time to choose an avatar you might stand a chance of getting away with it, Drog. Damn you're lazy (now)!

I can't deny that I'm impressed with his antics, even though his actual characters could use some work.

You fucking little cunt

Your pespective of an outsider is naive and uninformed, even if you think it is clear-minded. There's a series of causes as to why a game is liked or not. We are an intellectualist community, so we don't discuss about our feelings and first impressions, and we're not about to discuss yours. Try to figure out the arguments and you'll see that it all makes sense. Perhaps there is a bit of hyperbole going on, as you say, but no one except Volourn can't make the distinction between figures of style and content with a minimum of effort. Of course, there's also a fair amount of posters who never post anything worthwhile and spew out the general opinion, but that is needed : it is what makes rpg codex a prestigious magazine, the fact that people are willing to follow its general concenssus... more or less.

For example, to help you a bit here, the reason why games like Fallout 3, Dragon Age, and so on, are not liked, are more than a simple immediate jugement that you, as an ignorant and candid little cunt, can spew out. You have to consider the history of roleplaying games in general, design standards, litterary standards, what is expected, what are the hopes and dissapointments, what is creative, what was done and what could be done better, and so on and so forth. All of this culture is assumed on these forums - without it of course it seems silly, because well shit, everything seems silly to an outsider who doesn't get the context.

I know I'm being trolled, don't worry. Everything is a big troll. Derp. Fuck this shit, where is my armor and lance i have a tournament to go to soon

:salute:

No one could have said it better.

Intellectuals curse more than drunken sailors. Fact.

Need a citation on that my friend..

See, an intelligent person would realize that doing a study on how much so called "intellectuals" cuss is ridiculous. You missed the sarcasm in his elegant post, and the irony is biting you in the ass.

I thought it's pretty sensible to dislike bad quality and people who make bad quality.
But then again, bioware, bethesda, bay's transformers, twilight and so on prove me wrong.

That's what you would like me to think, Drog. But little do you know that I know you would think that, and I'm the one pretending here. I am pretending to know that you pretend to pretend that I know you are pretending.

I move that all newly registered posters should be given the honorary title of MASTER OF ARCANUM given the statistical likelyhood that they are, in fact, the master of arcanum.

Drog being Drog, Codex being Codex. And CK posting some manga stuff (though, surprisingly enough, this one doesn't have rape)
