1) To have a VO on the trailer like that, either the devs are cucks or they genuinely think it's cool, in either case, it doesn't bode well for the game.
2) If it's not the devs themselves responsible for that, then they either chose and monitored the people who did it or they didn't, if they didn't choose and monitor the people who made the trailer, that's poor attention to detail, which doesn't bode well; if they did choose, then see 1)
I think the "woke-ism" is getting on some peoples nerve.
Nah, just saying there's a lot more where that came from. Plus Jagged Alliance was never 100% EuroAnd the VO is a Black American. Do all Black people look and sound the same to you or something?
lol, our self-proclaimed expert.first two Jagged Alliance games
This also you?v1c70r14's favorite squad:
- "Blood" (can dunk)
- D. Huaong (smart)
- "Ice" (has fourteen kids)
- "La Malice" (also smart)
- Vicky Waters (former hooker)
- "Magic" (just made the cut because he's half-black)
and, of course,
- Helmut Grunther (leader, naturally)
Let this be a warning to everyone involved: we do not put up with taking over threads in GRPG with off-topic crap, no matter the game and no matter the nature of the thread in GRPG. If you, especially those of you who have been banned from this thread permanently, are caught shitting up other threads in GRPG, you face further sanctions. And by further sanctions I mean probably being shuffled off to rusty's forum or even worse. Again, if there's one thing that's not tolerated here at RPG Codex, it's fucking with our precious RPG subforum.
Now back to talking about the game. And ONLY the game.
The longer an rpg related discussion online goes on, the likelihood of people agreeing with Humbaba's takes increases in a linear fashion.
... but seriously, would it have been so bad if they got somebody like Carl Weathers or Idris Elba to do the voiceover? That would have sounded awesome, very apt. What about James Earl Jones or somebody with some gravitas? My post includes references to several classic JA2 characters, therefore it is on-topic.
I am also in my own oh-so-clever-way attempting to dissuade a deluge of dissident anti-dark person discussion in 'dis destination.
this one?Wow, I could have sworn that there was a Jagged Alliance 3 that got released about 7-8 years ago, and it was so universally reviled that it quickly disappered but I guess no such thing ever existed. I'm beginning to feel like a character in a Philip K. Dick novel with "false memories".
Hey, I don't like this narrator's voice any more than you do. If the actual game, however, A) doesn't feature him and B) is actually even partially up to the challenge of being worthy of being called Jagged Alliance, but seriously, would you really choose Jimmy Walker from "Good Times?" Seems like extraordinary patronizing wokeism or maybe just incredibly stupid. Doesn't make any rational sense. Kind of like this game.
All the characters who speak in the trailer sound pretty well done as voice overs. Then it cuts back to Huggy Bear doing the narration. Again, where is the judgement?Of all the people I'd expect to comprehend that Jagged Alliance has wacky voices in it sometimes and isn't trying to be "serious tough guy milsim #21837". smh
Heres a hint, thats not how Africans sound eitherThe game takes place in an African country. If seeing and hearing black people in a game makes you recoil, you should avoid it entirely (though the point is that you'll be killing many of them). My nigger fatigue is reaching levels hitherto thought impossible.
