Also I agree with him that simulationist immersive RPGs are the best

The problem to me with simulationist games is that they undercut the imagination of the player, something that others, like isometric ones, don't really do. New Vegas is a good example of that, in that while it tries its best and largely succeeds, the demands on the game are so great that the simulationist experience is undercut. I certainly felt that being underwhelmed with how small New Vegas was even if the NV area around it, like the farms and airport, were well done.

I think a thing is with a lot of game settings, as much as you'd love to see it all in detailed first person, it's best to leave to the imagination and how much better it is as filling in those blanks.

That's a valid PoV, imaginaton certainly has its advantages, even if my own preference for first/third person is set.
It is true Vegas was underwhelming in NV, such was the reality of that old creaky engine and short devtime.

This is getting better. Witcher 3 had a huge, beautiful city in Novigrad, and KCD did Sasau and Rattay pretty well, for a medieval setting.

Yes, this is what I was thinking when I read that post. Open world RPGs are no longer restricted to Bethesda's shitty engine and design philosophies, so world are becoming large enough to be somewhat believable (TW3), or the scale is such that it's OK for towns and villages to be fairly small (KCD). Capital cities in Skyrim are the same size, if not smaller, than hisorical towns in Kingdom Come which in 2019 house 3,700 (Sasau) and 500 (Rattay) people.

100% yes! You will play as Theresa and have a dog companion in our 4th DLC called, "A Woman's Lot." This will be our biggest DLC by far. She won't be playing Henry's mission, but she will have an important part to play.

I wonder if A Woman's Lot takes place during the time Henry was bedridden after the attack on Skalitz.

EDIT: 500K DLCs sold to date.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
That's....surprising. I thought it's a done deal they'll do a sequel.

That said I've always thought they should close Henry's story with a nice DLC and move on for the next game. I like Henry but let's be honest, he's not Geralt, capable of captivating global attention for many games, films and spinoffs.

Main game won't be continued. DLC is going to be side stuff. Henry's story is over. Internally, they decided to move on despite the cliffhanger.

I doubt it. Granted, I haven't fnished KDC yet, but Henry isn't a particularly good or interesting main charcter. I'd rather have them move on and tackle different historic events with a more compelling protagonist.

I didn't play KCD but if it ends in a coitus interruptus way, I'm going to just slice it away from the list of games I have to play (and therefore buy).

It's the opposite for me, but I can understand that point of view.

There is a large fanbase for the Henry character. He is quite loved on Reddit and Twitter, for example.

I mean, I might be mistaken, but to me it always seemed like there's a huge fanbase for "HENRY CAME TO VISIT US, JESUS CHRIST BE PRAISED" memes and not the actual character. Especially on reddit.
