Whupped the starting chapter 3 fight and got Pizarra, didn't crash for me so I have no idea how it happens.
So what is the strategy you used? do you kill the demon or kill her before? I managed the fight without the demon, but you get half the xp and no drops, but with the demon it's harder. I'm trying to do it without anyone dead because that just kills their xp.
Easy mode is one cleric or anything able to read cleric scrolls +one warrior, go left, loot the chest. Then go right cast gargantuan elemental , you've won . Rince and relaod till it works.I found the next tombs much easier than the shadows one, but probably only because I used a lot of spells against the mummies. The dragon fell to the best dragon-slaying spell of all, Glitterdust. If you struggle at shadows, you wont pass the rest. The next tombs are much harder, then you get to the lava room , and finally one last boss after that, no rest at all , not once.I suggest you do the goblin first pick one side, green is easier but you miss a companion. The shadows were hard and I needed a couple of reloads to kill one of the two casters in the first round with a charge and an Energy Missile, but the mummies + vampire was a breeze. Is there an obvious way to deal with Strength/Constitution damage? Those shadows are fucking scumbags.
Not really no, the shadows and the mummies are the hardest part of trying to handle it at a low level. You can try summons to keep them distracted, otherwise it comes down to a certain amount of luck.
With Greater Spell Focus, my Druid had an 85% chance of hitting with Quicksand and you can aim it so that it hits both a mummy and the vampire. I surrounded the other mummy with a Summon Crocodile and a Tentacled Horror, then I charged in with my two melee guys. The summoned creatures tanked the ability damage and were able to deal enough damage to take down both mummies with the help of 2 Scorching Ray and 2 Energy Missile. I wasted A LOT of resources (a domain power usage, 2 level 2 Druid Spells, 2 level 2 Wizard spells and 6 power points on the Psion), but I came out from the fight without a single damage or reload.
Up until now, the Aberration domain with maxed Charisma, Extra Turning, Augment Summoning and Summon Mastery was the strongest tool at my disposal. However, Quicksand is a gift from the gods. I just hope I can fucking rest now...
Ah, the dragon was a real pushover: he failed the save against Glitterdust and went down in three rounds without doing anything worthy of note. If there is no extra boss behind the door, this death snare thing is extremely easy at level 3 with a non-joke party. However, if now I have to face a boss without resting, Pierre is a monster.
Now, the next part is another matter. The demons are a joke against a two-handed Fighter, but in the cave the continuous damage is giving me a lot of trouble. Maybe I just need a bit of luck, but right now I don't see how I can come out of this alive (especially because the salamander one-shots me with a single spell).
If I go into the cave with Wizard + any warrior, how can I survive the continuous damage? It ignores fire resistance and without continuous healing from a Cleric everyone goes immediately dangerously near 0 hp.Fire cave is not that hard just tedious, bring a fighter to beat down the fire snakes and either a wizard for confuse and the ice spells or a cleric for the elemental, haven't tried it with the cleric though so I don't know how hard that is. The Efreeti can be brought down in two turns using deep slumber scroll and a coup de grace.
If you've done all that at level 3 you'll be able to squish the solo goblin fight in a few tries thanks to levels you can put in, king was still a bitch for me, but the lizardman hydra battle was practically nothing.
Tigranes are you casting stun or sleep to disable them, or you trying to mow them down with sheer damage? The fight against the centipedes shouldn't be particularly hard, but keep in mind that the game forces you to buff/debuff all the time if you don't wanna get fucked over.
Well, you'll get fucked arseways then too, but every now and then you'll win.

They're not a problem - hell, my Mantis Gladiator can basically take all of them out on his own. The issue is that any one of them casting acid splash guarantees someone gets a death, and the only way to prevent that is (1) keep all of them disabled the entire combat, wasting resources; (2) pray hard for surprise round. (1) is not the end of the world, (2) is just annoying.
For the first levels I found the Wizard and the Psionicist to be on the same level, since in my party they both were Grease machines.Anyway, time for mimics and tombs. I do feel like wizard is more useful than psionicist so far, just because apart from stomp and energy stun I'm not too convinced about psionicist's early abilities.
Yeah, my psion uses a lot of the 1 PP Grease, so my dudes can slide enemies around. For the first levels I found the Wizard and the Psionicist to be on the same level, since in my party they both were Grease machines.
Honestly, the ratmen selling restocking Astralagus is probably how you were meant to beat this whole module; we just didn't add 2 and 2 together. You can in theory buy yourself 200 of that and beat the whole game without resting...
I hope it's a bug and he fixes it TBH.
Any tips for the mimic fight?
They are incredibly slow, so you can deal with each group separately if you can deal enough damage. I summoned low level critters (a wolf and a skeleton) to gain time with two groups, while focusing the other one and then the additional creatures. Honestly, it was the easiest fight in the entire game, I think I got hit once or maybe twice in the entire encounter.Any tips for the mimic fight?
Watch out, the Discord of people that can't get past chapter 1 are suggesting we nerf all summons because they are 'overpowered' and make the game too easy.
Two astragalus and a bunch of potions were enough to clear the lava room and the last boss. To me, the shadows were way harder than anything else that came after them in the tomb, all at level 3. I had to reload three times against the salamander because I couldn't possibly survive his fireball, but once he decided to face me in melee it was a breeze. All things considered, this first part of chapter 2 is way easier than the final fights in chapter 1 (lizard priests + frogs and the sacrifice party).
