Remove it. Now.

Do you seriously think people can't google it up anyway? It's on several torrent sites.

The comments are funny, in any case. VIDEO GAME MODS, IT IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.

WTF are some people crying about, like the testers keep saying over and over, they're making that mod for themselves, so why should they quit making it, just because some people they didn't want to give the unfinished product to, got it anyway.

It's like "omg omg you saw that house I was building for MYSELF, screw this i'm gonna quit now!"

Despite what they have said, they started a website, shown off what they have done and communicate with the fans. They got the attention and interest of people on purpose yet act like complete captain moral superiority douchebags. They should have announced that they haven't worked for several months and are not planning to do a lot of work further. People are right to be angered.

To clarify things, I meant the crying about "now that it's out they might drop it" and "omg don't dl it it's not ready" - along those lines. I think most people who actually read the info that comes with it, understood that it's not a finished product yet ffs. Only bad thing that might come out of this is TG getting piles of retards reporting the same old bugs over and over in their forums maybe.

It just feels pretty assholey to me to take someones work and release it against their wishes. They made the project, spent a lot of time on it, why should other have the right to do this?

You are absolutely right,

but so what? who cares? this mod was dead anyway, maybe this whole situation will make them man up and motivate them to finish what they started... or maybe it won't change anything and they will stay unchanged as atentionwhores.

Funnily enough I've already stumbled on a few unreported bugs after power playing through it for a few days:

1) On Nar Shadda when the group is racing to rescue the exile from Jar Jar Tek, if you have Kreia as the active character when the Mira grenade explosion cutscene activates, then the screen goes black and never returns. The work around of course is to have another character active when this cut scene activates as the scene will then fade and you'll presented with the cutscene of Kreia resurrecting the wookie.

2) HK-50 interactions seem quite problematic. On Nar Shadda, they tend to sometimes just stand there and do nothing as you walk by. Sometimes they will activate, sometimes not. After disposing of the group initially, leaving the area and returning again seems to be enough to get the group to respawn randomly.

So the leaker seems correct in at least one instance: The beta testers seemingly haven't been doing that great of a job. These bugs didn't exactly take too much effort to find. Other than these two things, no other issues to report though. A lot of the restored content works quite well and fills in a lot of the gaps. I expect as I take on other planets, other issues will come to light though.

Jaylittle, I've encountered 2 pretty major bugs my self(but nothing seriously annoying). On Dantooine I got 2 identical encounters with HK 50s. After the outside great battle of Dantooine my screen went black, I could move but there was supposed to be a cutscene. I reloaded and everything was fine though.

I agree with you in that I think at least some of the beta testers got the pack in their hands and left.

Anyway, right now everything seems playable and enjoyable.

Do me a favor, try having HK-47 in your party during one of those HK-50 encounters. I just started Dantoonie and I also ran into some trouble with them there - but I hadn't put in the time to play with it yet.

EDIT: Edited for clarity

People work on mod for a long time. Modwatchers get impatient, and someone leaks it against the dev's wishes. Devs are pissed, threatening to sue, leaker is smug. Basic INTERNET DRAMA.
Actually to clear one thing up: The devs haven't threatened anything. The only threats are coming from Darth Windu. I guess he just forgot to put his tampon in today. OstermanA has made no threats and neither has Wildstorm.

Still I want to know when somebody is going to start a thread on the TG forums regarding this leak. I noticed somebody already stealthed an update onto the YouTube channel announcing the leak. I figure once news of this begins to hit the TG forums... the shit is going to hit the fan in a major way. Nerd civil war people. Imagine the level of zit juice being fired off at random!

Interesting. However that also says they cleaned house within the Closed Beta team. Since I'm too lazy to log in and check the list myself - I wonder just how many people got axed. As I recall there was one page of members plus a single member on a 2nd page. I think 25 people are listed per page. That makes for 26 beta team members prior to the incident. It would be interesting to know how many got the axe.

Either way, less beta testers == slower progress. They've got a number of bugs out there right now though so it's not like the developers are having to look around too much for something to do. And if they pay any attention to this thread at all, they are likely to get more bug reports than they ever received from their closed team.

And yes 1.0b9 is the current build, but there has not been an updated source code download provided. The current file is still from May 18th. I suspect that there is a possibility they may not release the 1.0b9 source simply because they know that would make it possible for us to keep our builds in sync with theirs. Only time will tell on this though.
