I'm standing by my choice.

Nuke it from orbit!

We don't have enough nukes and would have to use viral weapons. Dropping plague from orbit is also cool (see Istvaan Massacre) but, really, use bio-stuff against species that is a master of it?

if you can get to the surface

See, this is the part that has me worried. Even though I'd feel better if we nuked (all right, all right, virus bombed) the place from orbit. The only way to be sure, ya know. But since the surface is far, far away, and we're near the "egg" thing already, I stick with my initial choice of supporting Ahriman.

if you can get to the surface, they will work

That's a big if IMO. We are deep inside and close to the source of the xeno filth. We not only have Ahriman's spells but also a dreadnought with us. He should be able to overload his powercore or stuff like that and create a massive explosion and hit the damn ball of genetic goo right there where it hurts. No armor saves, no agility saves.

I have a strong feeling that destroying it from the inside will mean the sure end of Ahriman, Cypher and the Brokeeper and I'd rather have them around actually. We'll let Cpl. Hicks decide this one.

might take more than that to blow up a planet, tho

you might have also noticed that Cypher has succeeded his save vs insanity roll, so thumbs up!

So it was Cypher who killed Johnson in your version, not Luther?

Don't you people remember the description of Silas Mar's ship? That thing is a fucking monster armed to the teeth, you could probably go Alderaan on this planet if you wanted.

just to be clear, there is a 'better' choice here, and it is a consequence of past decisions. it's not as unknowable as deso would aver, so...

well, good luck and all that *sounds of hydraulic plasteel pistons sliding into place in a bunker deep down Titan*

So... in previous updates (and side story flashes) we went deeper and deeper into Cadia. No point turning around now and hoping bombs will do the hard work for us.

I would hate to for this awesome band of bros to die but they seem kinda doomed anyway... Most important thing is they do whatever possible to stop another terrible thing happening to mankind.

I've always been a fan of blowing shit up from orbit..

There's an "if" they reach the surface, yes. There's also an "if" the hivemind lets them reach the heart and corrupt it.

I'm not sure either of these are impossible, and as such, I'll go with what I like the most. And what I like is taking Cypher's advice and killing each and every living thing on this rock from orbit.

Letting Ahriman corrupt this hivefleet sounds amusing, but not very conducive to continued human existence..

B, virus-bomb Cadia from orbit!

It doesn't sound very wise to let Ahriman mess with the core. He's not to keen on human salvation, he probably just wants its power.

I vote for B.

There was only a withered corpse in a golden chair. It told me to come here. To track you down.

Note that the Emperor didn't tell him, "Actually you don't have to locate *Ahriman* precisely, just go to the planet he's on, stay on the ship you used to get there, nuke the planet, and call it a day. That should be good enough." The job he wanted us to do involved more finesse than an orbital bombardment. Therefore, the heretics who vote B fight against the Emperor's holy will. Cease, repent, and vote A.

Regarding some arguments that have been made:

The Black Ship was indeed described as having planet-destroying weaponry. The thing is, the last time we saw it, it was guarded by overwhelming numbers of Deathwatch fanatics who (if they're still alive) consider all three of us uber-heretics. If they're not alive, then it may be guarded by whatever killed them.

For the people worried about Ahriman, remember: the end result of simply eliminating the threat posed by this hive fleet would be a return to the place where we were at the end of Act 2, i.e. the one where the Swarm and the enthroned Dragon were about to destroy all life in the galaxy. We need to do better than maintaining the status quo.

Very true, bro. Also, as much as I love our party of XTREME bros, I find Ahriman's motives extremely suspect since he overtly mentioned that he doesn't care about humanity at all. More importantly, I'm worried he'll try to turn the swarm to his will.

Of course the Brokeeper will go with Exterminatus, anything else would be out of character. FFS! Vote B you faggots! Unless you want another segment ending with failure and death for our protagonists, that is.

Orbital bombing is too impersonal. A pyromaniac's ( and that's certifiable insanity) way of doing things. True BROS vote A.
