cheers for the enlistment call ValeVelKal, but i was away on Syrious Business (TM)

if there are future deployment opportunities, i suggest to lead an assault infantry squad honor-bound to deliver a pretty goat bride to Dayyālu and protect the happy couple until our village messiah is born from their holy union

to achieve this lofty goal, they would be willing to perform even highly unconventional maneuvers such as scouting, covering, and supporting his tank movements

+M
Spoiler : I checked a bit (I wanted to know if you can complete the mission if you are the one driving the medic IFV - turns out you cannot) and there are more reinforcements soon. So Assault Infantry booked.

I did some minor edition to Endemic and Sergiu, as the range of the game is scaled down so some things are not at range when it looks like they could.

XII. The rescues

We start with our dashing Special Force commander, vazha, who immediately eliminates the Technical threat with an ATGM missile. Keep in mind, it will be important, that while in the late Kalerion's BTR-80 his team reloaded to the maximum - four missiles.

oSbvAGT.png

qIgG5uq.png

Once the thread is removed, it is time for all-out assault, under initially neglectable enemy fire :

8ROJnF1.png

bOBrgB3.png

Things change, though, when another Toyota with a machine-gun starts shooting at Vazha's Tiger Forces. They have no choice but to duck for cover :

AKHLPU9.png

What happens next ? You will see... later !

Moving to the main compound, MoistCloister is assault the small houses next to it. You can watch below his squad jumping the small wall, then moving for the kill :

rcS3KnL.png

Cpqbqnm.png

They are, of course, heavily supported from all sides :

vLa7s9p.png

The action below lasted around 2 seconds in total :

Daesh counter-attacks. Some of Moistcloister's men are wounded, but none are killed :

JSIbJVx.png

Moistcloister's men on the other hand, don't miss.

ZcEKJKp.png

An Islamist is still inside the building, behind a wall. Moistcloister throws a grenade...

O9xRemF.png

... and gets killstolen by Endemic, who does an incredibly risky shot with his main gun, blowing up the aforementioned wall and Islamist

Hh3FDFk.png

The first building is now cleared, there is an enemy on top of the second one, and still a lot of people in the compound.

gg515He.png

A few more seconds later, Sergiu64 removes the hostile on top of the second building, with his first confirmed kill with a sniper rifle !

0MsoyLg.png

Only the compound left !

Now moving to Dayyālu's great turkey shoot - part II. Or is it going to be part II ?

Dayyalu moves slightly in order to be able to have a clear view on the technical and to be further away from the still occupied building :

mlKYgD3.png

[you can note an heavy shell falling between the two buildings, not sure if hostile or Sukhavati's]

This slight repositioning is immediately met with very intense RPG fire from the other building :

vibDqJY.png

f33ricU.png

PvI2QOo.png

hyN0j1s.png

One hit out of three rockets, luckily without damage.

Dayyalu's revenge is immediate and kills at least one militant :

LluNoc2.png

08rSRWZ.png

In addition, Dayyalu's support is on its way :

wavpBEO.png

Dayyalu slowly pulls back (according to Endemic, you cannot go backward fast on a T-62 anyway). At the same time, the technical starts to move toward the SAA forces for some reason :

TSxXazq.png

Suddenly, DRAMA ! An hostile Gvozdika shells lands on Andnjord already diminutive squad !

s5h4agq.png

Andnjord himself survived by miracle (he was ducking due to light fire from the closest building) and thanks to the smaller scale of the game. A 122mm HE shells THAT close is not going to leave you any chance in real life.

baud on the other hand manages to set up the machine gun, and immediately cleans up the closest building, while Dayyalu destroys the technical and Andnjord runs back to the trenches :

wW9TaRM.png

tD5gSBM.png

Dayyalu is at this point totally out of HE shells, so he decides to pull back from the scene for R&R, while Baud repositions his duchka.

X5L2l3S.png

Not far from those three teams, Ar Rouksor is sending mortar shells after shells after shells on a building known to harbor hostiles :

LepU6m1.png

After patching up, Egosphere is now on the move to clean-up whoever survived and occupy said building :

g3sPsqY.png

But this is going to take some time, so we can move back to the last compound assault. Here is the situation at this point :

CJzja5q.png

darkpatriot's team is spread-out. Three soldiers of his team are in front of Catacombs's team, while darkpatriot and the soldier he trained to shelter from mortar shells earlier on are behind Catacombs). The front-runners have the RPO, and they ease-up the target by using all their rockets. The closest tower is gone already. The part closest to Moistcloister is next wit the two other rockets.

tIpJIHT.png

v04aTiU.png

SmartCheetah also shoots at the target, effectively thanks to the brand new HE shells he received

ez0CRmu.png

8E5wQEA.png

Sukhavati also contributes :

TrRIjpc.png

Finally, while darkpatriot is out of RPO rockets, Catacombs still have those he got from Endemic's BMP-1, and it is time to use it :

NAi8qiA.png

By this point, there is no one left in the building, and it can be occupied by the assault force :

E0eBQTH.png

l04C7o1.png
The area is clear !
2zpR2s3.png
Allah be praised !
2zpR2s3.png
Great job, team ! The National Defence Forces are en route to the airbase to reinforce the perimeter. And our goal now is to finish off the enemy forces. Capture and hold the sector's key points !
algT0cZ.png
Wait !
l04C7o1.png
???
2zpR2s3.png
Who are you ?
algT0cZ.png
SAA Camera Division ! You are only allowed to go for the SOUTHERN key point at the moment ! Following you guys across 4 different battle areas, plus the stragglers, is just too time-consuming.
l04C7o1.png
That's a stupid order ! We need to press on !
algT0cZ.png
Do you want to be put in a medic IFV with an ATGM on the top of it and sent through the most dangerous roads in Deir ez-Zor to pick-up wounded soldiers ? No ? Then thank you for your cooperation !

Let's not forget mondblut and Azira . While everyone else is completing objectives and getting more or less into harm's way, they had been safe so far, but it would be great if they could bring some "spoils of war". Of course, capturing spoils of war from the enemy was risky, but this problem too had a solution :

L8qEXze.png

What about capturing spoils of war from allies ?

Z1jz2fb.png
You guys are not using that BMP ?
Y2RDZUo.png
Well, the drivers are dead, and we don't know how to repair it. But if someone could repair it and drive it to the air base ?
uLbXhww.png

Z1jz2fb.png
Repair it ! Drive it to the airbase ! Sure ! Let's get to it folks !

jUmfYyA.png

This would take a lot of time, so it is time to check how Vazha's "elite special team" is doing.

Not great. Engaged by a new technical, Vazha's men hit the ground and prepare their ATGM. Except one man, the Sniper, who for some reason runs toward the technical ^^ :

6h16BhD.png

It's a BINGO !

4aLf3Y7.png

Nonetheless, the group impetus has been stopped, the three men are all wounded, and have difficulties getting rid of the few enemy fighters surrounding them :

qL5AkEl.png

The situation becomes critical when a THIRD Technical, this time with a recoiless rifle, engages the team :

LT4AhWz.png

YU8dY85.png

At the exact same moment, Vazha, the dashing leader of the special force, is killed by bullets :

ds7Z0kl.png

The ATGM soldier manages to shoot another missile at the new technical :

The missile goes awry in the second half of the trajectory due the soldier directing hit being totally suppressed, but by insane luck, the missile veers off left & right... into the target ! [insanely lucky - it must compensate that time in Wargame : Red Dragon when an enemy fighter crashed straight into my only HQ]

aipSUw1.png

ddXnMfB.png

Sadly, there is no time to praise Allah, as the sniper of the team is killed by a Daesh sniper.

c6jB3KY.png

SmarthCheetah, who has no more job attacking the compound, arrives at this very moment, though his support is at this point inaccurate. The last survivor of Vazha's team has to get rid of the solider in front of him alone :

zsUXwZi.png

Winning the duel, the survivor now resumes his mission : save the prisoners !

Rndksdc.png

Will he succeed ?

We will know later ! Because for now, we need to talk about Allah's favorite tanker : Strange Farouwk !

His movement toward Dayyalu went unopposed, until he passed close - too close - from the building behind the one Egosphere was targeting :

xZAryTS.png

At this point, it won't surprise anyone if I say that the rocket missed. Imam Draco, perks of still having the commander on top of the cupola, started shooting immediately, while Strange Farouwk is still checking where it came from.

Sadly, Imam Draco does not have HE shells left, so his effort is pretty useless.

B1i5OoO.png

On the other hand, Strange Farouwk still has HE shells, and use them decisively :

JsxXLkF.png

But there is another militant, also with a RPG, on the roof :

l5nNUnX.png

UsZnEsE.png

Hit on the turret. It won't surprise anyone if I say that the rocket caused no damage.

The combat carries on. Strange Farouwk focuses on that building, while Imam Draco decides to use his machine-gun against the mortar team that does not have any cover. You can see Egosphere's team, or rather their icon, in the background

XCTCm2V.png

Both the RPG team and the mortar team are neutralized, but at this point Imam Draco is shooting AP shells at meat targets, so he is ordered to stop wasting this kind of ammo lest he does not have any left when they meet the T55A :

QDOUqvN.png

So, I was mentioning Egosphere. The time for mortering is over, now Egosphere is assaulting. But before that, the men crouch to prepare the assault with some RPG shoots [aiming slightly up while crouching, not sure it is possible with a RPG-7 IRL]

SWNItQY.png

Wpk8OVs.png

b0QH2r5.png

That's two Islamists their families will have difficulties identifying.

There are a lot of bodies in, on and around the building now, under the effect of all those shells and RPG :

Hn1pIn5.png

But another guy gets on the roof. This time, Egosphere misses. It was the last HE rocket !

pPU5nYG.png

DeiPXco.png

As for Ar-Rouksor, he is totally out of ammo :

WVo0Qqq.png

Who will kill the last enemy ?

Not far from there, Sukhāvatī had one last HEAT shell (and not more HE shell ) :

YtkqqCe.png

5QkZMCx.png

sMAWOJP.png

Egosphere can now occupy the building :

oECHZYa.png

Back to Mondblut - by the time he has finished his repairs Azira had arrived to his location, and spots again a few lightly armed militants by the time

NSVVn4n.png

Z1jz2fb.png
Well, repair done !
Y2RDZUo.png
Great, can you ... !
Z1jz2fb.png
Sorry, can't hear you ! Next part of the mission is to go to the airbase
Y2RDZUo.png
Yes, but with us !
Z1jz2fb.png
SORRY ! Can't hear you ! Probably the jamming you mentioned earlier !
Y2RDZUo.png
But we are just in front of each oth...
Z1jz2fb.png
BYYYYEEEEE ! Good luck with your mission !

On the way out, Mondblut immediately tests the canon on the militants. It works perfectly !

0DwZCoH.png

Of course, there are more militants further away to engage.

So let's conclude with Vazha's survivor :

Darkpatriot's team is, from the compound, in a position to remove the sniper that had harassed Vazha's team :

XrgVMhj.png

Meanwhile, SmartCheetah huge his guns to remove another threat to Vazha's remains of a team :

CArKwbo.png

This allows the last survivor of Vazha's team to get into the building. The prisoners use the opportunity to run away, though they are on the roof and the elite soldier barely passed the door of the building :

g8vLSJz.png

The elite soldier, mission accomplished, leaves the building. The prisoners are still on the second floor ^^

Lo9Kc4h.png

Looks like a guard is going to try to intercept the prisoners :

9pEbYIL.png

So the elite soldier gets back into the building, not sure what happens but the prisoners get out !

OS4SZ63.png

SsNAvyJ.png
Hey, this guy does not look like a prisoner !
39hb47W.png
Well, I played dead !
SsNAvyJ.png
Bring them all to the base, we will sort that out there !

So... this long long turn is finally over.

This is the situation at this point :

LCXtff2.png

jgcf4nB.png

If you wonder about ammo, the situation is pretty clear :
- There is no more ammo in the supply trucks, at all
- Endemic still has a lot of ammo for his gun,
- Dayyalu could refuel a tiny bit, so he is at low-but-acceptable level,
- Strange Farouwk and SmartCheetah have very ammo left,
- Imam Draco has a few AP shells left and ammo for the Dushka, everything else is all out
- Sukhavati has maybe 4 rounds he could get from the supply truck,
- IF your squad has something rockety, then your squad does not have any more ammo for it,
- Vazha's last survivor has one missile left,
- There is no more raw ammunitium in Endemic's BMP-1, though Mondblut's "medical" BMP-1 is full of ammo, so if you want RPO refill, only Mondblut can provide...
... except that it is time for reinforcements :

VCyEuR5.png

I will bring two supply trucks (what's left in the pool) and 1-2 fuel trucks. We can bring BMP-1, all sorts of BTR, and the rest is infantry. Priority will go to the new / returning commanders, then to commanders who received heavy losses, then we will see what is left :).

We also have not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 new missions.

1. Bring back the prisoners to the spawn point. Easy.
2. We heard you like Escort Side Mission, so we upped the ante with an Escort MAIN Mission, and of course no preparation time => Escort the NDF convoy. For reference, here is the route it will take :

Db9IGAV.png

It is pretty strong as well so whatever reinforcement we bring should be enough to escort it :

8Via2B7.png

3. Wipe out Southern Daesh force :

19cmLSX.png

4. Wipe out the North Western Daesh force - I don't want anyone to go for this objective at the moment so I don't have to spend litteraly 5 hours to do the next update like I did for this one ^^ [30 minutes playing, 2.5 hours taking & editing screenshoots, 2 hours writing this]

NiUYdS4.png

Once the escort is over, we won't be on a timer anymore so I will use the opportunity to refuel & refill everyone, except those engaged in mission #3.

well

if I'm outta ammo and the ammo trukk is empty as well, guess it's time to FIX BAYONETS and charge with grenades

unless new trukk gives me a new payload, then I'll join up with whoever goes for objective #3 - p. sure a mortar is worthless for an escort mission, and while it seems like the north daesh force is closer and would be a more obvious target for me, alas north daesh force is absolutely haram at the moment

Pretty sure empty mortars are useless for escort missions yes.

yeah, you will be able to result with the new trucks, or in the belly of Mondblut’s BMP.

going to set up a refuel and rearm station where Dayyalu is at the moment.

I say he is dead, his trusty second is now in command. He knew his boss very well and know what he would have done.

Key Tiger Forces Commander Killed; Colonel Suheil Al-Andnjord Wounded near the Kuweires airbase

11831703_1645114612436823_1460073831736535765_n.jpg

On Thursday, the commander of “Qawat Al-Qanoun” (Codex Forces), Colonel ‘Ali Al-Vazha of ‘Ayn Al-Souda, Tartous, was confirmed to be killed-in-action after a mortar shell hit his camp at the town of Kuweires in the eastern Aleppo governorate.

Colonel ‘Ali Al-Vazha was overlooking the battlefield at the town of Kuweires with his senior commander, Colonel Suheil Al-Andnjord of “Qawat Al-Nimr” (Tiger Forces), when the Islamist rebel fighters of the Islamic State terrorist group fired a multitude of mortar shells from their positions at the imperative town of Frikka to the north.

The mortar shells struck Colonel Al-Vazha’s camp, killing him and one of his officers; this shelling also wounded Colonel Suheil Al-Andnjord, who was reportedly hospitalized for a concussion and multiple flesh wounds that he sustained on Thursday.

According to a military source, Colonel ‘Ali Al-Vazha was buried at his hometown in the Tartous Governorate – he was awarded numerous military decorations for his gallantry on the battlefield.

In early 2014, Colonel ‘Ali Al-Vazha was one of the two hundred soldiers to take part in the lifting of the Islamist siege on the Aleppo Central Prison; it was noted that the Colonel was among the first to enter the prison after leading his soldiers across the battlefield.

Colonel Suheil Al-Andnjord – true to his nature – did not spend much time in the hospital, as he returned to the battlefield seven hours later in order to implement his contingency to recapture the town of Kuweires from the Islamist rebel fighters of the Islamic State (banned in Russia).

Good thing I mined that intersection, now that a main escort mission spawned. Will protect them from flanking. :salute:
True, though I have no idea what happens if you had mined where the convoy is going through.

think I'll just camp at my current location until the north-western daesh arrives, hopefully with armour so I can expend the heat rockets

Can Al-Matnjord, the Tiger Force Commander and handsomer brother of Al-Andjord join the battlefield? In which case, can Al-Andnjord just stick close to his gallic brethren Al-Baud for the rest of the game?
