A certain dog who happens to be a ghost seems to be having some trouble with his LP so i figured that the best way to inspire him would be to continue this abortion of a LP. That's right, Ryan is back, and we've even more dry wit to share with you all this time around. But enough talk... let's get started.

After zee movie...

Well, that's sound advice. Time to get the heck out of here.

72667019.jpg

Blue green slime, eh? Well that's the kind of stuff that can happen when you don't maintain your ventilation system.

97447194.jpg

Oh... Uh, you might want to turn around...

26707884.jpg

Too late.

13601931.jpg

The cutscene is over and we are greeted by a gentleman in a lab coat.

Ryan's short memory strikes again.

77507980.jpg

The good doctor takes the elevator down to the basement...

77745180.jpg

.. and Ryan is free to perform all manner of vandalism including, but not limited to: Arsony, stealing and safe cracking!

31857464.jpg

But he'll have to stand still for another couple of hours lest he falls into a million pieces. Animated corpses are fragile when freshly raised.

"Bummer..."

Bummer indeed, my good man!

"And what of me then?"

You were eaten by a sleeper, you won't be coming back in any other form but monster feces.

"Bummer...

Uh, yeah...

And now we shall ask the radio operator, as well as Captain Sears, a couple of questions.

Pleasant as always, my captain, my captain.

24892729.jpg

Let's have a chat with the radio guy.

80218213.jpg

Oh so Shaw was his name... Dur hur.

26662016.jpg

Don't look into the camera! Don't look into the camera! And you wonder why we have poor ratings... Damn yank.

36622136.jpg

Anyway, let's continue our discussion with Mr. Shaw.

76289391.jpg

He sent us to you. Now spill it, mister.

Okay then. The armory is in the basement so... doooown we go.

And that's it for now. Tune in next time fo-

Yeah, we're bringing him back... but only cause we're heading to the armory and he's some sort of "expert" in the field.

T-2000? Why didn't i think of that comical comparison? Bah...

Let's get this thing moving.

17158328.jpg

Seems like Ryan can't go in without a pass. There is an incomplete pass on Captain Sears's desk so i guess we'll go ahead and forge a pass for ourselves.

56700764.jpg

But before i remembered the incomplete pass i thought that i could use the case file as a pass. Hur dur.

83262037.jpg

18168687.jpg

Enough goofing around, let's get that pass.

24086820.jpg

[Lore:] Hmm... Seems like we need a photograph and a stamp in order to make this valid. The stamp should be here in Sears's office, and the photograph... Maybe we can use the one stuck to Ryan's case file?

92365778.jpg

So we head back to the radio room in order to "use" the kettle found there. Notice the steam coming out of it...

59608464.jpg

89256059.jpg

We're going to use the case file on the kettle and steam off the photograph so that we can apply it to the incomplete pass.

24798203.jpg

Let's head back and stick it on there.

13133192.jpg

Success! Uh... Ryan looks kinda pissed off on the photo. Oh well.

15794020.jpg

More to come tomorrow since i'm not to keen on talking to myself two times a day.

I certainly see why you're not keen on LPing this, it's lacking something to make it actually suspenseful. Unless you get that feeling while playing. Do you? Did you ever?

More like constipated.

Also, I can't see a couple of the screens from the second and third last updates (not that I care, since I know this game by heart)

Not that it's bad to follow or anything - I rather mean that it's certainly weaker than many previous adventure games, as you yourself have said earlier.

I think a major part of a mistake they made here is actually revealing the Big Evil in cutscenes. It's metagamey and removes the "OMG WTF" feel of running into a corpse covered by random purple liquid.

That, and actually putting the player into an environment that isn't hostile or unreceptive, but rather, bureaucratic. Really now.

... Yeah, the game is pretty much a stereotypical example of the decline displayed in some of the last adventure games to be released.

I figured that i'll play this sucker through to the end so i won't feel guilty for quitting (again) and then have some fun with Normality... as promised... several months ago. Yeah.

Do you? Did you ever?

Never, but there are still some parts of the game which i enjoy. We'll get to those soon... I hope.

Well, it also serves as an actual example of decline in adventures, so there's added bonus for displaying this for everyone that hasn't actually witnessed it!

Oh, and here's a possible suggestion that might even make you more interested in running the LP - you could point out and comment on the clichés that they are using. Some of them are potentially amusing. Although I'm afraid that the writing is so flat that it's hard to actually even mock most of the time. But yeah, bashing am gud as many other LPs seem to indicate.

Time for the first half of today's update.

We poke around Sear's office some more and discover a safe behind a painting.

87801594.jpg

86667904.jpg

33420304.jpg

Now... the combination to the safe can be figured out by reading the ripped page we found in Sear's desk earlier and a book found i nthe projector room which has half a page missing. It's quite a simple "puzzle", but it's annoying to have to press every pixel in order to find the book, hence why i won't be putting up screens of that.
- This is the combination.

21565842.jpg

And the safe contains a rubber stamp, the one we need for our pass, and a key.

32922761.jpg

Use the stamp on the pass and voilá!

51474475.jpg

46666609.jpg

I figured it might be a good idea to close the safe and put the painting back in its place... You know, just in case.

84349712.jpg

We go back to the elevator and proceed to ride it down to the basement when suddenly...

54288884.jpg

The music changes to a very tense tune... I must admit that this actually managed to escite me slightly. But anyway... Let's head into this "restricted" area.

94133929.jpg

34431448.jpg

The music grows more tense.

74582529.jpg

We head into the north-eastern door. It's the storage closet where the soldier was attacked by the prisoner... I want to search the trunk.

16882502.jpg

Gentlemen, this is what "Oh god itz heavan" looks like.

71393600.jpg

And the music is pretty fucking spooky at this point.

More to come soon!

-soon there after-

After having found the body in the trunk Ryan decides that it'd be a good idea to search the room. He finds an old tin can which smells horrid.

15ahm.jpg

20509387.jpg

We head out of the storage closet and are treated to yet antoher cutscene.

74532187.jpg

A poorly refridgerated german crate and the sound of water dripping. This can only be good.

90639335.jpg

Back at the security checkpoint...

26006702.jpg

73304537.jpg

82522011.jpg

Now that's over with... Let's enter the south-eastern door.

33997388.jpg

Ah, it's the doctor's office.

84435038.jpg

25105804.jpg

89333454.jpg

30126528e.jpg

She exits the room and returns in after a short moment.

32089506.jpg

I didn't ask the nurse about Quincy since we're suposed to sniff out the infiltrator in this base. Asking suspicious questions isn't going to help us, so we need to be subtle. As such we are going to lie to the good doctor and search his desk while he is distracted.

20328970.jpg

Let's go with the oldest trick in the book...

94511514.jpg

27906297.jpg

The old tin can we picked up might help us... convince him...

79698512.jpg

24453705.jpg

25407011.jpg

But move we shall... We quickly nick the assembling manual which lies on the good doctors desk and return to our original position.

16781676.jpg

26547030.jpg

And with that we return out to the hallway only to spot our dear friend Quincy heading out of the armory and in to the doctor's office.

98706438.jpg

And that's it for now. Thanks for reading.

We've actually completed the first third of the game which just happens to be the most boring part. Soon we'll get to the really interesting pats.

As for my new updating pattern: I just want to crank out an update once i day so i don't lose momentum and stop updating it... again. Also, my next LP will be one of Normality.

Well, them really interesting parts sound like they might be... uhh... really interesting! Does the monster eat all the people that require your papers?
