Lastly, is that Japanese pre-xcom stuff a reference to that UFO:EU LP from the LP Archive?

I'm not a huge X-COM lore buff, but it seems to be based on official timeline found in one of the games' manuals.

Fake edit: read more here.

Kind of cool if the game will actually go into a vanilla x-com mode by 1999, but kind of lame if its going to take two years with the best weapons you can research being heavy cannons or something. Wonder how its going to play out (or if its even finished given the alpha status).

I think you should build a new base or two, you seem to have the money to do that. It would be a way to help you get more scientists. A good alternative is getting that vehicle which allows you to carry 10+ agents to nearby missions. It would certainly help in cases like this one. So many damn enemies... And no captures. Perhaps you lack the necessary tech/building? WTF were civvies doing here? It artificially raises the difficulty a bit by having retards doing nothing but waiting to be killed. Good thing they weren't zombies.

Agent Jaedar reporting for duty.

I also find the asset reuse between x-com mods quite funny.

Yeah that's a lot of missions but you should wonder why so many of them in south murica...
PS. there is a key on keyboard that show effects of attack, if they hit and if it was critical or not. Forgot exacly which one it was though...

Someone should post a link with OpenXcom's list of hotkeys to save up time for everyone.

As for name for the vans, go with the classic: "Party Van". Also, concealable machetes. Xcom's tech is sure advanced. Too bad these commies start with bio-augmented agents and ours won't be able to take over the world with nanomachines. Then again it's a different universe.

Have you tried to purposely stun civies you can see running around? Thanks to XCOM's 'code of battle' followed by everyone, enemies don't target unconscious units, although IIRC attacking civies deducts you some points. Also, can these unarmed farmers attack you hand-to-hand or are there just to soak up bullets/taser shots?

Casualties in duty to protect to mankind. :salute: Still, Grenades or something similar to balance lack of heavy weapons would help with in missions where there are lot of enemies, like spider mission. Is there something in mod to work that out?

And shot in the back, yet doing some shotgun dutu. Do I get something like X-Com equivalent for Purple Heart now.

Edit: And naming vessel to Party Van would be fine choice.
