Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
By then there will be no electricity and we'll eat bugs.

It's over man, over.

I just played through Mafia 1 and 2 DE. First one I thought wasnt very good, there were a lot of inconsistencies about the characters as they were portrayed, and the message of the game made no fucking sense. I thought the gameplay was bad, had no clue why the game even featured an open world, may as well just have turned the driving into cutscenes.
Imagine my surprise when I discovered that it wasnt a remake, but a reimagining from some retard, and my shock when I saw what the changes actually were. A shame that they ruined what seems like a good original game with those retarded rewrites.

The message of being ambitious but not too ambitious is an important one that gets completely lost in the DE, instead being replaced by one of family, which makes no fucking sense since "the family" barely got any time, a few minutes in a 10? hours game. And also rings hollow to those that have had the bad luck of being born in a shitty family.

Mafia 2 was an exercise in frustration, you mowed down hundreds and never got an ounce of respect. You quite literally took half the chink mafia in a matter of minutes and are supposed to be scared of the other half? Fuck off. You took on, alone, one of the 3 families in the city, and murdered everyone, from the new hire to the boss, and people still treat you like you are some kind of a easily bullied fuck up. They even force you to leave your best friend to die after he risked everything for you, and it all rings to unbelievably dishonest and forced.

I dont know if Mafia 2 was a victim of rewrites, or if the game was originally this retarded, but I found the experience very frustrating. The cinematics and gameplay quite literally showing you two realities, until the moment the gameplay gets acknowledged but the significance of it completely ignored.

Overall I found saints row 2-3 and gta 1,2,3,vice and san andreas better than Mafia DE, and I have no clue why these games are talked about with such reverence.

Never buy remakes, boys. If the studio was any good, they'd be making their own games, instead of rehashing others' successes.

Tried playing this trash (played the original eons ago, great game at the time), literally could not go any worse.

Inescapable loading screen where these idiots announce that they are a team of diverse backgrounds (as if anyone except woke morons care), followed by a declaration that this is a work of fiction that does not in any way endorse the actions depicted in the game.

:what:

Imagine if Goodfellas or Godfather started with a 10 second message like this. Like how fucking stupid do they think their target audience is?

Then, another 2-3 loading screens, followed by an ad (of Mafia 3), and to avoid seeing that ad in the future I had to hold down some button for 10 seconds. Oh boy.

Finally get to final loading screen of the actual game, and it ... crashes to desktop.

I try a few more times, get a few more desktop crashes, google this shit, apparently it's a well known issue with this pile of trash, that no one has bothered to fix. Some people suggested running the exe file directly from the folder, instead of using the Steam launcher, I tried this, it worked one time, but every other time, it CTDs.

:rage:

My fault though, should've stuck to my rule and never bought a remake. Oh well, at least I got in on some massive sale.
