Do not go too greedy on the common wildcards, I spent all except 30 maybe. Then historic pauper hit and after four new decks I am out of common wildcards. Was a strange experience. But you can craft the uncommons away like there is no tomorrow, you get loads of those.

man seeing these historic anthology card arts just makes me sad. It's like, back then all of the artists were so damn good all those cards look metal as hell but now most of the art is like "look guys I used cgi to draw a squirrel"

As much as I agree with you there, I'd still say modern-MTG's the best for card art compared to the competition. Gwent puts up the best fight but MTG still edges it out simply because it's more creative, it's just that MTG isn't even as creative as it used to be.

I only just noticed that historic is back for good. Not going away at m21. Or so says state of the game for may. Craft your checklands now, guilt free.
And one of the upcoming arena tourneys is historic too, so spikes have been brewing. From Crokeyz stream, the meta atm seems to be lukka, jund lurrus food, mono r lurrus and naya winota. But I've been casually climbing to plat with temur breach past few days and it's still full of trash like mono white and mono blue.

oh yay..
anyway I've been having fun with war of the spark draft. I really like that planeswalkers are a thing in pretty much every match, it's just cool having them all over. oh also ixalan draft in two weeks! I started playing in GRN so I never got to draft ixalan, looking forward to playing with some big scary dinosaurs wooo! probably gonna take a break for the two weeks of ikoria draft because I'm so sick of that format
I cant stand Avengers:End Game/War of the Spark draft, too swingy and bomb heavy for my taste. Black is fun tho.
Ikoria is fine, companions are decent in draft and not completely cancer. Also I am somehow super good at Ikoria and can go infinite, Blitz Leech at common breaks the format.
Really pumped for Ixalan, I didnt knew that it was coming back before your post yet. Inredibly fun block, fairly low power but entertaining archetypes and super high flavour.

oh yeah the bombs are nuts lol. I lost vs someone who dropped oketra on curve yesterday, not much you can do vs a 6 health double striker that spawns a bunch of 4/4 tokens and when it dies it doesn't actually die :/. But last time I drafted WAR was when it was released so it's refreshing to look back, and something cool about seeing all the uncommon planeswalkers that nobody uses in constructed.

I dusted off my old greens, stompy gets so much better with a playset of Lannowar elves. I missed that explosive quality the deck used to have.

fairy engine tentaclonado deck
im supposed to use it to trigger ominous krakens, or nadir with small swarm of sharks from sharknado but... deck is quite shit when you are forced to compete with lurrus wall and I have yet to see it work the way I intended.
Reconnaissance mission & sharknado cycling abillity work quite well in this
Everything that runs fairys besides Brazen Borrower gets an obligatory Brofist from me. Such an amazing tribe, shame the last time they were good was Bitterblossom.
I have heard there might be more fairy stuff coming up, MaRo and WotC were really surprised how much people wanted Eldraine to be a fairy set.

Damn, I'm 800 gems short for the Anthology (decided to just buy it this time and keep the wildcards) so I can't brew anything new.
I have 10k sheleks, so theoretically I should be good after a draft or two.
Seriously though, the deck to beat is most definitely Yorion Fires with Lukka, so pick this one and practice the mirror a lot, or pick something that beats it.
Anything with counterspells should have a decent matchup. I had a good run with UG flash at the start of ther season, but it just isn't performing.
Reclamation might be a decent choice here, but it's a tough choice between speccing it vs. Fires or vs. aggro. You're not going to win everything.
Out of the aggro decks, I'm currently having the best winrate with WBR Knights.
Obviously, expect a lot of Lurrus sac. It's not a deck I would play personally. Same goes for the Obosh incarnation of mono red.

The new commanders have specifically been inserted into the Brawl format through the Brawl Hall rewards. They are Brawl legal so Wotc can make big bux of the retarded 10000 shekels Brawl fee without losing money from giving the community a reason to use their old cards in Historic Brawl.
-set:thb -set:war -set:eld -set:m20 -set:grn -set:rna
Inserting this string into the search box gives you only commanders from Ikoria and the Brawlhall commanders. -set:iko is broken atm so no way to filter just the extra commanders as far as I know. More than a bit annoying imo. set:ana gives the few historic legal cards which are not from Brawlhall or anthologies, but they are all garbage from the tutorial.
Strange, when I apply this filter in the Brawl deckbuilder it only breaks after I add -set:iko. Seems like WOTC programming is very consistent as usual. I will later post a list of the cards.

Anyway it is Talrand Sky Summoner, Hanna Ships Navigator, Bladewing the Risen, Firesong and Sunspeaker, Rhys the Redeemed. Not shown is the Gitgud Monster because it is mythic.
I believe making an empty space before searching for negative modifiers is required, ( -set:iko -set:thb -set:war -set:eld -set:m20 -set:grn -set:rna) works for me now without the brackets for all six cards.
