if there is gonna be another edition I can guarantee they are making difficulty more easier (like every previous revisited game: strange journey, persona 5, persona 3, smt3, smt5) so play it while you can still get challenge out of combat

smt5 would be better if it was harder
Well, I don't know about that. The menagerie is very cool, certainly. And its fun to find ways to break the game. But attrition or risk simply don't exist in that game and its a pretty major drawback.

Meanwhile in Metaphor the resource management can get pretty intense.

SMT V requires at least a house rule of fighting every demon that gets aggroed, otherwise, yeah.

Would kind of suck with the combat tediousness in the current fomula IMO.
After early game in 90% I was entering encounters just for recruitment purposes + mitamas. I very rarely actually fought regular encounters.

Even if they didn't adjust the difficulty for a later edition, the power creep from the inevitable extra archetypes and new powers from follower bonds would set in and make things easier. This is a shame because the difficulty was feeling good until Virga Island when I started brute-forcing encounters instead of properly strategizing, and this only came about because the game forces you to grind so much in the early game to recover mana (on hard, at least) that your jobs/levels start surpassing the difficulty curve. If they release an enhanced edition, I'd love a rebalance/harder difficulty.

end game has plenty of challenge, final boss took me 5 tries (lvl 72) and couple other bosses multiple attempts
mid game was easier than early/end game yeah

early game forces you to grind mana is not true if u are willing to spend extra day in dungeon which is totally fine you have plenty of extra days

Interesting. Earlier Personas conditioned me to think that wasting extra days in a dungeon meant not enough time for all social links which, in turn, meant new game plus, something I loathe nowadays.

Nice touch that you can change party members during the fight for one turn point in case you missed the archetype config. Still think you should be able to change archetypes during battles, can't see a real reason not do to so. The only reason I can come up with is the game to feel different then Persona but it's starting to feel a bit forced mid game.

It'd be nice to play this with everyone else on release but everyone knows there is going to be a special edition and I refuse to pay Atlus $140 for the same game (again).
It's a gamble really. You could end up with a SMT V Vengeance situation where it's an overall improvement, or you could end up with a Persona 5 Royal situation where it unbalances the the whole game and saps it of the difficulty it had, while adding another 30 hours onto an already bloated playtime.

I'd honestly be playing this right now if I didn't have so much I'm already in the middle of playing/starting later in the month (Ys X and Romancing Saga 2: Revenge of the Seven). I have a feeling this is going to be a situation where the special edition fucks everything up.
Shut the fuck up you ingenuine retard. Like seriously shut up right now. Nobody ponders these things booting up Persona 5, you play the game just to fuck Kawakami. Don't pretend it's otherwise, tryhard.

But then again, random dungeons seem like a terrible idea.
I would say unless you're ultra shit at the game, the dungeons in P4 will take up less than 20% of the playtime. And if that is still too long, you can always get a trainer or a cheat table to increase xp/ressources gain and cut the grind in 1/x.

The way the game is structured, you're heavily incentivized to do all your dungeoning in one go inside one evening per "Boss".

apparently there is some softlock issue still with the method available. We'll see if they can bypass it before the demo gets removed from the store lmao

20% if you do the bare minimal. If you want to 100% the game you need to clear every dungeon twice, and some of the side quests require grind which is not trivial.

Actually, that kinda sounds even worse.
So the rest 80% of the game is on-rails?

Damn, this game is addictive. Difficult to get away from.
Seems like Atlus really smashed it this time.

No, you need to manage your time so you could raise your social skills enough to get into girls bathroom. How you do it is up to you.

The gamplay is really good and feels like a step forward from the Persona/SMT formula.

The world though is just such a ride: "human" monsters that look asolutely fucking disgusting, furries, some sort of goatmen vaping in the capital, a curse straight out of ALIEN, metal silt striders and I could go on.

Persona games aren't dating sims. The actual "dating" content in P3/P4/P5 is maybe an hour per game which doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. The social links in Persona games serve to a) tell the confidant's story and b) to provide buffs for the dungeon crawling. Leveling up the social links and doing the dungeons compete for your time. You have to balance both activities.

A red haired elf dressed in what looks like a yoga pants+armor 3 piece suit wielding a halberd is named Hulkenberg. Ooook.

No, it's whatever the gameplay is outside of combat in metaphor. You're constantly making decisions about what to do when to optimize your gains in relationships and stats.

It's not the first release to use an unprotected demo exe, I want to say one of the resident evil's was cracked this way a few years back.

So you basically fight LBGTQ abominations?

Should be right up the codex alley. :smug:
