Those are the times.
We are given something that might just be the best turn based jrpg since a decade or 2, and people will judge it based on participation of a queer translator in the localization or on focusing on a socially sensitive topic.

O tempora! O morales!

as a counterpoint: the state of western vidya writing is as it is today because it was tolerated in the past

it is an issue when the slippery slope is not a fallacy but a reality.

And this is not a blobber Wizardy clone, this is a full-fledged JRPG which needs to include writing when we review it and it is perfectly OK not giving FATLUS and Soyga your money if you dislike the theme/writing/(((localization)))

I mean, you spend about an hour and a half locked into an almost entirely narrative-driven railroaded intro section before you're even allowed to set foot in a (short) combat level. The queerbait moaning about muh raycism is the game, the combat is just a carrot on a stick. Even after the first combat level and boss fight you are CONSTANTLY interrupted by LONG narrative sections.

And there's trannies EVERYWHERE. Everyone is a tranny, the protagonist, antagonist, the prince you need to save, the mysterious librarian who gives you alternate transformation forms, EVERYONE.

Femboy and catboy galore! And a tiny pixie for lolicon addicts. Gross.

I'm afraid to ask what is your definition of a "tranny" then.

Also I don't think the initial narrative section is nearly as long. Though there ARE quite lenghty sections afterward.

The MC looks incredibly gay. He looks like a gen z non binary kid on hormones. I thougt fatlust couldn't outdo themselves after shin megami 5 but they did it maybe they had netlfix help them out.

IMO he looks considerably better then SMT V Protagonist. Not that its a high bar to clear.

If that's a tranny then so was Sephiroth and most other jrpg villains, along with a good chunk of the heroes too. Androgynous != tranny. Trannies wear skirts.

It's quite funny how on reddit the woke brigade are complaining the game is for chuds because all the characters(ie. all the stronk wumen) immediately defer to the MC for leadership and here people are complaining he's a tranny because it's a blue haired boy in an anime.

Here, let me make a guide for you for how to identify the fucking alphabet people:

Or just big dudes in general:

No? I haven't seen a discussion about gameplay, builds or such lately.

Just shock and awe that some anime characters look feminine.
Worse yet, some wild claims that looking somewhat feminine equals being trans.

Plus speculations how woke the game allgedly is, focus on fake butt removal and fake change of game character.
While somehow all the females in the game are mysteriously atttracted to the mainchar.

Well, most people commenting on that probably haven't played the game yet, or they would comment on such things. Personally I am going to play it, just not yet because I have tons of games to play right now, I'll pick it up on a deep sale. I'm definitely not going to give a publisher my money up front when they make the decisions they have clearly made in this game, in order to appease the western modern audience. That is just reprehensible to me and amounts to a destruction of the artistic creation of the original dev team.

So people are commenting on things that they can clearly see are the case just by watching footage or looking at screenshots, and not commenting on things like gameplay because they haven't played the game. It's pretty obvious that the gameplay is solid.

Also yes the main character looks like a retard, sorry if you can't see that

I mean, I don't love how the main character looks. But like a retard? That's a pretty rough.... judgement of.... about half of anime characters.

Well it was hyperbole but yes, he looks goofy as fuck

Compare him to Joker from P5 for example

nigga u wot. what they did to hulk is a crime.
The curvy butt picture was fabricated in photoshop or some such. It was never a part of the official game.
i don't care about some picture. what they did to her in the game is a crime. two sticks transitioning into spine with nothing in between. even jailbait songstress has more curves. it's not even "negative ass" popular in modern western woke vidya. it's just void.

What does a female body with a small butt have anything to do with wokeism?!

Ahoy mateys. A question foRRR all my fellows that plan to sail the high seas.

- Game is bypassed (whatever that meant), thus it can be played fully from start or finish. That much, I get. What does this mean for the future of the game tho? What happens if a big DLC gets released? Idgaf about costumes and shite like that, but what happens if we get ~10 more hours of gameplay (presuming atlus doesnt remove Denuvo because of the bypass)

DLC gonna be unplayable until the game gets cracked/denuvo gets removed? (gonna be a while lol)

Or will the bypass make it easier to get into DLC than regular Denuvo cracking will?

This is also assuming the DLC is not gonna be costume shit, because IIRC the devs implied they have something different in mind for DLCs this time.
