Might and Magic combat was always relatively simple.

True but the older games just seem to have more stuff to do outside of combat which added a lot to the overall experience. And the atmosphere of the shops and taverns in mm 6 and 7 were awesome.

To be fair, I don't know how the new blessings system that Infinitron linked to will add to the game since I don't have any yet.

Is it me or is almost no one playing with a Mercenary? There has to be some strength to them....

Not class is weak by any means. The Mercenary is actually a great class, and I would far prefer it over the true shit class in the game: the Scout (i am sure mechanically it is sound, but boy is it bland) and also the Defender. Just because the class doesn't have GM in any skill doesn't matter, as you will only attain GM for any class quite a bit into the game. And even then not for every GM skill you have I think. There are many good combinations that are better IMO than jumping straight into GM with every skill you have. My Crusader for instance, is a powerhouse. I only put a few points into heavy armor, choosing instead to focus in shield, even though it only goes up to master. That's because the benefits of shield are superior, and Master level unlocks an extra attack (shield bash!)

And Crusader is a great class, whoever said it sucked had no idea how to spec it. Just remember, before or as soon as possible when you put on heavy armor, pump up your weapon skill and put a few more points into armor too if you can. This will negate the -12 attack penalty to attack easily and quickly. You can also pump the Perception attribute, you get a bonus to attack and also your ranged damage with a crossbow.

Anyhow guys what levels were you when you did the following boss battles:

Shadow Dragon, Cyclops, Wraits/Banshees

Loving the game. But for the love of God I wish I could force myself to stop playing until they update the engine with massive optimizations so I can play with full graphics options without boiling my laptop and without stuttering.

Tip: Turn Vsync on and lower framerate cap to 40 FPS to avoid most stuttering and reduce overheating. it really works, but not in windowed mode unfortunately.

Terrible question, but where are your savegames saved in Windows 7 x64? There is a MM folder under My Documents, but it seems to contain only .png images for the saves, not the saves themselves. :P

I swear, you gotta believe me, I'm not computer retarded, but this game is absolutely eluding me. Does not appear to be the game's installed directory either. Fucking Windows!!!!!!!!! :rage:

And yes, saving/loading works just fine. It's the files I can't find whatsoever to copy between my laptop and desktop.

I remember back in the day when you could pick your save game directory.

If you can remember what you called one of your savegames just use Windows 7's excellent search feature. Click your Start button and just start typing the name into the small search box that appears right above it. Your results will immediately start appearing, and you can choose to open the file's location.

Guys, unless you have nerves of steal, you should really avoid every mainstream site covering this game. The pure retardness in the commentes makes me want to kill myself. Some gems from Angry Joes let's play:
After mess of Heroes M&M 6 and this, ubisoft should drown themself to sea and die
they are asking 25$ for this ancient garbage ...fuck me ...ridicolous ..this could be made by a single freshman game design college student + 1 hobby fantasy artist in their spare time working in a browser window screw you ubisoft scumbags
- This one actually makes wanting to murder this guy.
Ubisoft should sell Might and magic to someone who will take good care of it and try to raise it from ash. Might and magic heroes 6 was/is still like half-maded and this game does not look like 2013 game at all.
Not 2013? Do you mean it is not shit?
imo the best might and magic game was dark messiah. The combat in that game is amazing
You didn't play any might and magic games besides Dark Messiah, did you?

There are .LSG files next to the PNG with the exact name that I saved in-game. Sure they're not those?

By the way folks, DLAA = downsampling = true hardware AA. For best results (if you have a powerful rig) choose DLAA + a SMAA injector. This way you'll get the best image quality without blurring the screen.

Bros, is dark magic useful? I've noticed you can't learn any expert spells in Sorpigal for that so don't know if it's worth putting points into. The starting spell for DM is quite nice.

EDIT: Also the fact that Dark Magic is the only magic path that is exclusive to a single class (human freemage) probably needs addressing in a patch.

I tried the "demo" version and I'm glad I didn't buy yet; on 32 bit you have:
"Texture Quality is limited to MEDIUM
Party Barks, Monster and ambient sounds are not available
Voice over is not available"

Fuck it, not going to reinstall Windows for this. What concerns me is that upcoming kickstarters use Unity as well, but I think this is more a case of lazy, incompetent devs or rushed job (I hope).
