Yeah. Okay.
Will possibly be playable and good in a year?

It's already playable and good. Will it be more playable and better in one year? :fabulouslyoptimistic:

The asymmetry option is a nice touch, given how deformed people were in the middle ages.

Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I'm amazed that everybody can even play the game. I bought it yesterday and tried several times to get past the tutorial/map screen only for the game to crash every time. Changing the settings didn't seem to do anything either.
And the weirdest part is that it didn't seem to use the gpu at all. My CPU was melting while the gpu still at 40°. I mean the gpu is top of the line while the CPU is getting old but still, I never had such a extreme discrepancy. Had to refund due to concern of my pc catching fire...

But I might try some warband mods. Always played without until now.

1,000 unit siege turned the game into a slideshow. Turned it down to 500, a little bit better but still not good or even really playable. Also all of the units, both friendly and enemy, just sat there running into the castle gate for five minutes and nobody scored any kills.

The character editor reminds me of the story when I let my wife play Dragon Age Inquisition. Spent 40 minutes just on choosing a hairstyle in the character editor. In the end went with a Qunari.
I'd say that every gamer who ever played a game that had a character editor with their partner knows that particular problem...

Wait, you people don't spend half an hour on making your character as cute as she can be?!

My CPU is also the oldest part of my system, and Bannerlord is pretty stuttery sometimes. My GPU is only a year old and pretty good, it ran Dishonored 2 - a game with pretty high demands - at highest settings completely smoothly. I can also run most Total War games - Rome 2 for example - without any stutter whatsoever, and they have similar unit counts so should be similarly CPU intensive.

When it comes to Character Creation (generally speaking), randomize feature is your friend. Just click click click, okay looks good.

The different factions also have slight variations in the options given for background. So important to go that far before you settle on a faction.

Game is definitely RAM and CPU heavy at the moment. But luckily I upgraded both less than a year ago for an insane amount of money. It seems like RAM is the leading cause of CTDs. FYI: My avg FPS is over 100.

I'm so happy that combat against small bands of enemies ends so much more quickly now.

In Warband after a certain point you didn't bother with units of 10-20 brigands because entering combat with your huge army and hunting them down would take 3-4 minutes of time better spent elsewhere. In Bannerlord such an attack ends in 30 seconds max.
Or you can even send out your troops to simulate combat, which acutally works now that the Tactics skill increases your troops chance of success in auto-combat (so you don't have instances like in Warband where you sent your 100 best knights to do auto-battle against 10 forest raiders and 15 of your troops got killed).

Funny how they implemented crafting while they didn't fixed stuff that would take few minutes and are even tracked by encyclopedia.
Khuzait heavy Lancer has lower skill than regular lancer, Imperial crossbowman has higher now skill and mediocre crossbow (skills are the same of Imperial archer), sturgia berserker with higher One handed and polearm than two handed and tons of stuff.

Also seems confirmed that non noble battanians can't be archers...they even have a dedicated mounted skirmisher but no archers.

Protip: other than Tournaments, "Escort Merchant" missions are possibly the easiest way to make lots of money, relatively fast. I've been escorting a Caravan for the past 10 minutes until it visited 2 cities, didn't really have to fight anyone along the way, and got almost 5,000 as a reward.

I like Warband, but I am not trying this until 2021 at the earliest. It has the potential to be an excellent game, so I would not spoil my experience by playing it while it is still not really patched up and while it retains many weird decisions that will be changed for the better down the road.

Apparently you can execute captured lords (and ladies) now.

Finally. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to off load prisoners en I couldn't find a slave trader nearby. I often tried to recruit them or let them escape.

Do all Turks work this slow?

There was a little military coup a couple of years ago that likely set them back.

See you in a few weeks.

The towns look really pretty but it seems almost pointless to actually walk around in them, except for roleplaying (larping).

Agreed. I love that you can click on a portrait and be taken directly to that person to speed things up.

During the campaign / quests some people don't show up in the fast click menu and you have to enter the town to find them.

Good to know, then. Maybe this feature is phased out deeper into the campaign?

That was a failed military coup that lasted like what, 5 hours? I mean I can imagine it being "disruptive" for maybe a week but not more than that..

Fetch quests (take these sheep to the city) are also relatively easy and a great way to get out of a hole.
