You guys are fucking posers. (I get it, you're all self-confident good looking sex machines, so sex in video games seems pathetic and it's only good for Biowhorean losers... That's cool. You're cool! Can we have a serious conversation now?) I wouldn't mind romanceslike they were in PT or MotB or even some in BG2 (Viconia) - means feeling natural and in correspondence with NPC's presonality. If I am introduced to a hot female NPC who's not a frigid (or) lesbian (welcome to New Vegas!), then the lack of flirting/romance options at all (meaning in case of any type of character I'm roleplaying) feels as arbitrary and out of place (paradoxically) as does having every single character romancable (another extreme). Long story short, do what makes sense!

Conclussion: I don't give shit about romances in general, I want my story to be believable and reactive as much as possible! So, unless that hot chick who is obviously in to me suddenly interrupts our evolving conversations (heh, sorry guys, lack of developement time and money), i'm fine. Otherwise, fuck you.

You're all welcome.
Could you estimate for us how many anime body pillows you own?

I don't quite get why they would be limiting their writing like that either. It's not like they need to create personal romance quests or visual sexual intercourse cutscenes, all they need to do is keep the writing believable.

Well if romance is going to be of quality, it needs to be very well developped. You can't just discover your love for that half-fish-half-woman just after she saved you from a random trash mob... On that note, I don't feel romances in PST were very well done, except the non-romance with Deionarra.

Obsidian probably feel they don't have time for that, or none of the characters would fit well for romance. Not to mention a possible love interest NPC would be included in almost all parties... Tragic unbalance ensues! :outrage:
Or maybe they could be more realistic, and you both recognize that you are using each other because you live a very dangerous life and want some fun before you get stepped on by a giant.

They definetely should add some hideous and disgusting sluglike godlike and make it the only option for romance...oh wait, I totally forgot about furries and other deviants.

Josh's favorite video game romance is the one between Ben and Mo in Full Throttle. Lesi and I both enjoyed Mask of the Betrayer's, deal with it.
Ben and Mo follows coffeetable's rule though. The player and the NPC have equal agency in the relationship.
Sorry for the double quote but I just realized how amazing of a troll a Ben and Mo style romance would be for the Bioware crowd. After all the build up, you finally confess your feelings for one another and then one party immediately leaves. Holy shit it's brilliant.

Viconia and both romance options in adam miller mods for nwn were the only 2 times ive seen romance work in a game, and add to it. AP romances werent developed enough to actually matter, i loved scarlet as a character and i could see the chemistry she had with mike, but it was more like a hook up than a romance, which was fair enough. MotB romance was fitting, but a bit weak.

I now hope there are dialogue options to attempt to flirt with the characters, only for them to turn you down every time. Push it too far and they leave/attack. Should cause some decent tears.
Turn down any type of character? That means she's frigid, or that someone seriously fucked up her childhood.:smug:

None. My bed is often filled with real ladies. Come on, they would think I'm some kind of weirdo... Unless I'm hiding my pillows in the closet. Which I'm not. I swear!

I thought of that but I don't know if it would be consistent with the PoE setting. It might be too gritty.

Fallout 1 and 2 did that very well, and it fits the gritty universe characters are living in, too.

"Shhhh! If you don't be quiet, George won't let me play with th'rabbtiz! Shhhh!"

Wonders of a low INT character.

Explain plz

After talking Angela with a low INT character and getting into her room, refuse to have sex (really low int here :)) She'll start to cry rape and we got that dialog line as answer. It is a camoe from(to?) "Of Men and Mice"

Ah, I thought there was actually a way to get them together.
Still, should do a complete low INT playthrough.

More stuff:

The mega-dungeon (Endless Paths of Od Nua) is already at alpha implementation. Some of the levels will need a secondary art pass as well as a secondary content pass, but don't worry about its inclusion. It's ready for revision and huge.

So seriously, what's the intended reaction to the Death Godlike? Should I be having the sort of reaction some people get when they see lotus seed pods? Because there really is something gross about them and I'm wondering if it's intentional or if the effect was supposed to be more subtle.
It's intentional. Nature godlike are among the more "subtle" and they're not even that subtle (as the portraits should suggest). Even Pallegina really doesn't look particularly normal; her afro is hiding a lot more feathers.

Is Pallegina also an Earth Godlike then?
No, most people believe she is a godlike of Hylea, who is a goddess of birds and the sky.

Death Godlikes look overblown, with those masks and daaark smoke whirling.

Something of that should be cut down, and the cut should be generous. Masks definitely, but that daaaark smoke effects could be toned down too. It looks like some disco masquerade.
Or worse, like some weird JrpG - manga concept.
Admittedly, they do look quite overblown, but any facial features are unlikely to be visible from the isometric view at all, so why care? For all intents and purposes, the smoke effects will resemble hair when zoomed out.

Nah, its going to look ridiculous even from siometric point. they will seem completely out of the character and style. they just need another pass or two to tone that shit down.

-

- Oh, some people dont like weirdos, wow...
i wonder why would people have weird feelings towards these godlike seeing how many of them there are in the world. Everyone should be pretty much use to them really.

this is my concern mainly. anything strange that is seen enough times becomes mundane and common.

How typical. So I'm promancer now.
Best romance in any game is banging Bishop's daughter. Then his wife. I never felt more romantic.
Where was that?

You wouldn't appreciate the depth, anyway.
I only wished it was possible to bang both at the same time. But eh, dialogue tree limitations.
Ok, you guys are grumpy arrogant faggots, so I had found out myself. It's Fallout2 and apparetnly, I don't remember jack shit of it... But that may have something to do with the fact that F2 is much worse than the first one.:smug: (Also, I played it like 8 years ago.)
