Well not many people made new levels for the IE games. There were some - Dark Side of the Sword Coast for BG1 and I think there were a few for BG2. It's more about new quests, item packs, rule changes, stuff like that (#1 mod - rest anywhere etc).

I doubt i would even want to change any of the ruleset in a rtwp high fantasy rpg, why bother? In games like New vegas, it was fun to mess with mods that affected PC survival, like food, water, ammo, whatnot, because of the post-apocalyptic setting and gunplay.

Whatever ruleset mods are made, will inevitably be drowned out by the huge amount of romance mods. They might even use the scripted interaction format for more...intimate acts.

Oh god, I had not thought of that

:rage::whatho: :what:+

Pallegina rustles her feathers and looks at you comely with her golden eyes.

Do you:

Produce a riding crop from your pack

Use the Cape of Many Feathers to produce a lovely eagle like wing spread

Admit that you'd like to examine her body more closely in pursuit of ornithology

All old man. Gamebanshee is just a bit slow

I found a new one just then though :smug: Actually it's the same as one of the GameBanshee ones.

This one has an interesting piece of information, though I'm not sure if it's something Brandon said (badler) or the interviewer is assuming:

One unfortunate revelation is that because the Unity Engine used to create Pillars of Eternity has been highly customized by Obsidian, the game itself will *not* be modder-friendly, nor will mod tools be released with the game. Probably not a big deal to most of us, but still a bit disappointing—mod communities can often contribute significantly extended value for games that support them.

Most likely misunderstanding with no fact-checking afterwards. I think Sawyer said something like

*It's not modding UN-friendly*

I doubt they go back on something they have repeated tons of times so far as being the case.

Well you never know. Unity is pretty mod-unfriendly by nature. But as I said, I'd take what the author said with a grain of salt.

I think they said near the beginning that there would be no mod tools.

Someone at Obsidian said they would try to expose as much data as possible in human readable files, so modders could make changes that way.

Maybe PoE's sequel will be able to ditch Unity and whatever engine Obsidian develops or borrows will have better mod support or even a real modding toolkit?

Whatever, I'm going to have my hands full learning Larian's toolkit for the next year or so anyway, so at least there's that.

I think the bigger issue is that modding requires something more flexible than 2d, and 3d on a budget tends to look shit.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
If thought mods wouldn't be in for PoE. What if they allow people to use the current maps in the game and then just write your own scenarios with your own NPCs and stuff like that? It would be better than nothing. However, I do admit that it would be a bit boring going through custom campaigns with areas from the original campaign.

Well if HBS were able to provide an editor for Shadowrun Returns which uses Unity (and I think E:C editor is being made available too?) then Obsidian could do the same.

They could Kickstart it

Rose Gomez forum account: http://forums.obsidian.net/user/82222-rgomez/

They've changed the skill rules a bit to allow for more variation.

Also some of those Fighter abilities are o_O, "I will not die, fullstop".

Also interesting Frenzy mechanics here: I can already see Gfted1 complaining about this

A barbarian's Frenzy is one of his most valuable tools, allowing him to dramatically increase his damage output and Stamina for a short period of time. However, in addition to suffering penalties to Deflection, the barbarian's Stamina and Health meters are obscured for the duration. It's not uncommon for barbarians to suddenly drop unconscious -- or dead -- when their frenzies come to an end.

Barbarian Health:Stamina ratio changed

Thick-Skinned - Allows the barbarian to take only 1 Health damage per 8 Stamina damage received, instead of the normal 1 per 4 ratio

Brute Force is now passive it seems

Brute Force - When finesse fails, barbarians rely on brute force. On any attack that normally targets Deflection, the barbarian will automatically target the enemy's Fortitude if it is the lower defense.

It sounds like the Barbarian or Berserker's rage ability, except with the health and stamina hidden. At least it's better than Minsc's berserk ability that made you lose control, which could result in him turning on the rest of the party.

I love a good-looking blonde as much as the next guy but that portrait is poor as hell if it's supposed to be something used for in-game. Learn from passport photo guidelines!

I *think* it's Polina's. I didn't like her Earth Godlike portraits either, but I think this one is slightly better than those. It's weird because her portrait of Kana Rua is quite good.
