I know it's Codex tradition to depict the very worst of other forums for entertainment (even if the reactionary OMFG in those very threads ends up being just as retarded), but it hasn't been that bad so far. Pretty weak handbags as well, much better than DS3 launch.

Anyway, I sort of glaze-skim most long posts now, where I can pick out any tubgirl links but can't remember what they actually suggested.

Tigranes, bro, I'd be over there slam-dunking all these non-bros if only you asslords hadn't banned me as a hate crime against humanity and all that is beautiful.

My experience with the mods from that board, is that they are actually pretty reasonable, I've posted some stuff that offended some people and they just sent me a PM and said to take it easy, in lots of other boards I would have been banned already.

A mention of Hamburger Helper got my post removed.

I don't even remember seeing you there.

Anyway, we try to be hands-off, but it is the official forum of a game company. I enjoy the Codex mostly, but it's obviously different contexts.

At first, after reading the stretch goals:

Now I do agree that the game needs at least 3$ mil to compete with the other proper cRPG's in development, they need to do some damage control, and make a 2.5$ mil stretch goal getting Ziets and Cherry on board.

I agree with that mod. The Obsidian boards aren't the Codex.

This.

There are places and there are places, stop acting like morons. Beside, only 14 years old kids feel like they need to use the word "gay" as a pejorative.

We'll have to ignore the fact that Kicktraq uses a cut-off time to separate days, not the actual time elapsed from the start of the project. The analysis would hold even more true if the elapsed time would have been used.
day 1, day 2, day 3, d1->d2[%], d2->d3[%],
DFA: 167,826 988,755 349,980 489 -65
W2: 460,575 394,730 255,470 -16 -35
PA: 72,808 207,211 119,650 185 -42
SR: 296,988 215,127 99,651 -28 -54
PE: 705,095 482,314 57,539 -32 -88
PE (real time elapsed): 1,009,937 246,460 -76

No matter how you look at it, currently, PE has the biggest drop of all the heavy hitters. It's unlikely that the project with the shittiest stretch-goals and the shittiest conditions (no DRM-free yet) has the biggest drop in pledges just by coincidence. I haven't followed DFA and SR very closely so I can't say for sure, but the way W2 and PA handled stretch-goals was very good. Compare that to the way PE handles them and then come back to me and say that that has no importance.

http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/66710809/double-fine-adventure#chart-daily

Double Fine*: -65% and -72% day to day drop.

And you were only using a fraction of the funds on the third day. Now that that's over, we see that it's 198k, not 57k. Meaning it should be -32 and -65.

So yeah, the moral isn't that they majorly screwed up Project Eternity. The moral is if you compare this to projects that didn't get going until day two of Kicktraq (Double Fine broke one million in less than 24 hours, but Kicktraq's only showing 167k on day one), and look at the data for Project Eternity day 3 before day 3 is even finished (using 57k instead of the 198k they actually got) then of course this Kickstarter looks bad. But that doesn't tell us anything.

*Starting from the second day, because there's a big increase from day one to day two on Kicktraq due to the midnight deadline. Likewise, starting from the time of the crest, Planetary Annihilation has a 63% drop on the third day.

DFA is not really a case we should look at. It was the first, it's an adventure game, and has the unique Tim Shaefer.

What's this PA you speak of?

According to that they can easily get 4M by the end. Is it that bad?

I find the contrast between the SA and RPGcodex fascinating. I also find it interesting that the SA users think of themselves as so politically correct when they find so many things "strange" and "freaky".

Just add some variant of "Not that there's anything wrong with that" or "Just my opinion, but", and you can be PC while still making it clear you disapprove of them weirdos.

Edit: since it seems to have created a controversy, here are some ploitically correct suggestions for the "take my jewgold" emoticon.
