Achtung!

Just so you all know, you should not put in Replicators to the Rec III upgrade on Federation Embassy until Norfleet has put in the Dilithium. Before that, only doff-acquired replicators should be put in (which incidentally Norfleet is doing now).

Drakron accidentally acquired 400 Fed Embassy Provisions instead of Entertainment Provisions. So, NOBODY replicate any more, not that I should have to say this, since none of you gain anything by setting FC on fire anyway, because otherwise Drakron will be stuck with them until Embassy 3 and it will be a huge waste.

Okay, everything's running again. I have managed to haggle for new sources of Vespene Gas, so while those are holding out, we'll make some progress: We're gonna probably need a lot more of those crappy data samples, so find some more with your Doffyness!

Right on the samples with Valkar. Got enough surplus on him otherwise, so it's time to find more Artifacts, samples are the byproduct.


Also, how much are we talking in terms of source abundance? How many thousand FM in the gas field?

EDIT: Also queued Engie Projects III for Fed SB. We should get all the categories to T4, due to the fact it means we can focus better at the looooong finishing stretch (which probably means skipping Eng5) when only 1k XP is needed for SB tier 5.

SB5 itself, alas, while great for bragging rights and dick-waving, does precisely fuck all. It should definitely be considered a lower-priority thing than anything that is, well, USEFUL, like Sci-5.

Sci-4 should be our current priority, given that Sci-4 (and later Sci-5) are the only branches of the tree expected to give anything useful. With the long construction gap involved, we can afford not to worry much about Eng-4 and push more Sci with only the occasional Eng...gives a use for those damn samples.

As for how many Vespene, our sources have maybe about 15K total, at varying times of availability, although with the chronically short attention span of kids these days, I can't really know how long I can hold their attention. But we should have some big projects for dumping, that should drain them dry. More stable sources provide somewhat less.

Well, I think SB5 itself is a fairly worthwhile goal (even if just for the big "fuck you" we give with it), but I do agree that in terms of T5 categories Science is probably the best choice. The only real peer it has is Military, since some of those ships are pretty nice.

Well we are somewhat half way into T4 in all categories and I am going to point this out.

T4 is 100,000 XP
T5 is 250,000 XP

Meaning just to get to T5 its all the XP plus half of that of what we taken to get T4 overall.

As much T5 is good for bragging rights its still utter nuts the requirements to get there, the ways to make money (that also means FMs) out of the T5 are selling Shipyard Access and selling Elite Hangar access, in fact considering how the Embassy is going we might think about doing that but sadly the Embassy doesnt really have much things useful outside the kits and consoles.

This is were we should do coin toss, Hangars are for Carriers and I dont see us with having a Carrier force (at least Fed) but we can sell access to them, Ships are good because we have access to discounts and so can use then and also because we can sell them.

KDF is different, my suggestion is sole focus on Science due to KDF ships pretty much topping at T2 and KDF being "Carrier heavier" so Shipyard is not a necessity.

We can only hope with May update things change.

Yea, at minimum it'd be two and a half months to get a single category to T5. That's assuming we'd run the 1k and the two .5k projects every single day without missing a beat.

Well from what I been able to understand, the T5 Fleets gone either Engineering for Elite Space Weapons (and ending up with [Dmg]x2 [SHeal] + a mod of their choice) or for Shipyard, I know of a Fed fleet with a T5 Shipyard that was asking if anyone had T5 Science as they were willing to pay for the Elite Hangars.

I dont know were T5 Fleets are moving into now, Engineering is a costly mistake since you just get a weapon with a extra proc and one when really starts to show up in PvP and working will likely end up on the Nerfing table because 14 years old cannot into power insulators, Cryptic isnt shy of nerfing things that dont come from a Lock box or from the Zen store as its their first reaction to everything.

This leaves Hangar, the only T5 KDF Fleet seem to have gone to Shipyard so everyone so far been "Hangarless" but I dont think we can take advantage of it by running Science 24/7 as T5 Fleets really are better equipped for that, this is why we had the Foundry nerf as we could reach T5 before May as that is apparently not to their interests.

Sure we could potential get there as there is a market but overall we would be coming late with too much competition likely offering better deals.

Of course unveiling a Romulan Faction along with its version of the Fleet system is going to piss the crap of everyone because no way in hell anything can be done with the current system when starting from 0 and this is new shinny, meaning everyone that is now bored will try their hand at a Rommy and there is no "buffer" to save the system from its design.

1) Trait system is reworked, horribly fucks up balance even further.
2) Romulans are an actual mini-faction, have a full SB and Embassy, with the old costs.
3) KDF gets nothing.

You can guess which is wrong is bound to happen.

Well the problem with a Fleet and Embassy system for then is Rommy Embassy cannot be in New Romulus as its silly so its a new map (even if likely they just recycle Embassy Map since its a Rommy building anyway) the and Starbase Incursion also needs map since Fed and KDF maps are diferent, also Rommy Starbase would need 5 new models and of course a OPs map for it since they cannot just kitbash it like with the other floors.

The costs currently involved are the problem, when we got the Fleet System we had max leveled characters and we had alts, if they throw it long with the current costs this is really starting from nothing and if KDF struggles to T5 then Rommy will be dead in the water because even at mini-faction we have the commendation to work and everything else to work and we already know what grind the Fleet is, at least KDF had heads up with maxed characters as Fed did, just less people.

Its simply not something that is going to work with maybe 8% of the total players, they really need to make incentives to make people other then Fed but the problem is how its still stuck on Red versus Blue and as long that continues we will get a majority as Fed with the other factions wasting away because if they cannot make unique content for 2 factions they are not going to do it for 3, mini-faction or not.

3) KDF gets nothing.

KDF is getting a new tutorial, not much idea why ... I hope they just drop the whole "and here is how you shoot gun" bullshit since I already KNOW how I shoot gun, I have to play Fed before this for much levels you know?

Current KDF tutorial doesnt work because even if they do lock you in room until you learn how to shoot gun they dont have anything about how to drive Starship that is kinda funny as BoP play is very different that Fed and requires some different tactics, unfortunately they dont even take advantage of since you are stuck with a BoP you have Battlecloak and so make the tutorial explain those mechanics.

If you start at level 1 as KDF without knowing anything about the game, the current tutorial doesnt explain how to drive ship and you cannot understand how to drive ship because its not explained, also you cannot understand how to kill Fed because it also does not explain how BO and abilities work.

The current KDF tutorial doesnt work for level 1, no previous experience players, it always needed to be changed for that.

You can guess which is wrong is bound to happen.

Well not 3 since we been told that, they certainly made noise about KDF getting content but I will not be surprised if KDF and Romulans get to share content with KDF getting recycled Rommy missions ... but even that is something, last thing they got was "Alpha".

Personally I think the best solution for the Romulan mini-faction would be to have them have their own missions up to a point, and at endgame the Romulan player can choose to join up with either a Federation or KDF fleet. That would side-step most of the TEH HORROR a whole new Starbase with present costs in a totally new faction would cause.

And guys, 3 was there as a joke.

Well, how it traditionally works is that when we need to make the old one go away, if it's still there, I make it go away. You are free to take any action you wish there, as long as you don't mess up the counter. Either way, it goes away when the time arrives for it to depart the scene.

What does it lead to aside from the ability to farm faster/more?

Hey, Vaarna? What did you do with the 4 stacks of Entertainment Provisions we needed to finish the Embassy projects? I noticed that 4 stacks were missing, and that the logs indicates you took them somewhere. I specifically prepared those in advance, and without them we'll never be able to finish. I checked the next shipment schedules and that was the last load of Entertainments that will arrive in forever. If you've lost them, they're basically gone forever, because according to the construction forecast, there is no next shipment.

Don't worry, I'll drop by Risa to get replacements. Must have taken them for my reppers, seeing how you've repeatedly mentioned that people should at least try to use all the shit lying around in the vaults.

I'll also rename one of the tabs for construction materials to avoid this in the future.
