Cryptic has done a great job remastering the old bossfight with Donatra's Borg Scimitar warbird in Khitomer Accord Space STF. So Codex Cool Squadron flew out to have a go at it.

The first change is that Donatra doesn't have near-instagib Torpedo Spreads and immensily powerful cannons anymore, which makes the fight fairer and less reliant on kiting her.

More important though is that her AI has been redone completely. She's more aggressive now, faster, and cloaks more intelligently now.

NX-91701 USS Gombe Stream has gotten a refit recently, now using plasma weaponry instead of traditional phasers. I don't know if the fact I'm not using phasers or that I'm proving Janeway right makes me feel dirtier.

Graviton Beam is still used to great effect. Knocked Donatra six kilometers backwards with it here.

This is the best thing about the fight: Donatra now uses the Thalaron Pulse Cannon with precision, always placing at least one player dead-center of the killzone. Makes for a nice deal of tension to hope you'll have Evasive Maneuvers in time to avoid certain destruction.

You didn't have close calls like these in the old version. This is much more fun than kiting unavoidable death torps.

The Scimitar is getting hammered to space scrap, and the new arsenal of the Gombe Stream is proving more and more effective.

Thar she blows! Overall, this in conjunction with Hive Onslaught Space Elite leave me very excited about the upcoming redux of Crystalline Entity instance.

Obligatory bridge shot. Should probably figure out something profound and wise to say as befits a Starfleet Captain.

I wouldn't be excited about CE, though. According to the field reports, unlike this fight, CE is nerfed to mindless DPS-race faceroll where only TacEscort PEWPEW is rewarded and everyone else is wasting their time as they won't win. "Competitive Teamwork" means your goal is to troll all the other players, not to work as a team.

Actually I have, but I've spent every minute since trying to forget it. Nice to know I've been at least partly successful.

Okay is there a reason why people are putting up Shield Generators or Industrial Fuel Cells in lots of 2 for 50,000+ when they can be bought at a normal 'goods' vendor for 60 creds a pop? I thought I'd taken crazy pills for a second.

Those are for Starbase projects. Norfleet has taken a liking to buying everything in advance nowadays.

No I mean people on the Exchange are selling the very same items I can get from a goods vendor for hundreds of times the normal price. Who do they expect to fall for that?

Someone always does.

Haven't played in more than a year I think, what are the biggest changes?

Biggest changes? Well, aside from all of your equipment being vendortrash now, and your ship probably consigned to the scrapheap, and the nerfing of STFs, and the entire New Rommieland thing, which consists almost entirely of chasing rabbits? Well, that's about it.

Thus, things are obviously worse than when you left. Entropy always increases, after all, and the decline is inevitable and inexorable. Bored enough to come back despite everything turning to shit since then?

Honestly, I suspect half of those outlandish offers are people transferring money to their own alts. After all, no one would fall for that, so they're the only ones who'd buy their own overpriced crap. Because once, I saw a hypospray for a million bucks, so...I posted another one, just like it, for the same amount...and a dude bought it.

I'm sure he was like :rage: afterwards, but he never asked me for his money back, so I kept it.

Haven't played in more than a year I think, what are the biggest changes?
- Reputation System replacing random STF loot and adding new endgame progression in the form of passives.
- Nukara Adventure Zone, one of the three open mission zones.
- New Romulus Adventure Zone, but less gimmicky than Nukara due to not needing Enviro Suits.
- Defera Invasion Zone has been made available 24/7 and the rewards altered slightly.
- Bunch of premium ships.
- Tau Dewa Sector.
- Energy weapon proc rebalance, mostly buffed Polaron and Plasma.
- Fleet System shenanigans.
- You now have a Small Craft selected as well as your starship proper.
- New Romulus missions tied to the Reputation System, Yesterday's Enterprise mission, Alpha mission for KDF.
- More jewboxes to fool the gullible addicts.

I'll fix it, 'k? (It wasn't me, btw)

I would actually assume it's one of our new guys who does NOT know about this particular rule regarding Dilithium, so be nice.

Grr. Someone started the KDF starbase project 5 days too soon. That screw-up is going to cost us about 200 doffs worth. THIS is why I don't want project queued that we don't intend to finish immediately or time-insensitively: A project that isn't queued can't be accidentally launched. On top of that, certain upgrades are not actually upgrades at all, but only serve to make life more difficult. *COUGH* STARBASE UPGRADE *COUGH*.

I told you that you should post in the topic more often regarding your Five-Year Plans. That way they can be seen and people actually stay updated. Could be someone logged in after a few week's break and sees the SB project only needing Dil, and goes for it. Won't do much good if you just tell people in-game about this stuff.

EDIT: Anyway, this does mean that whoever handled the Dil remaining (IIRC it was somewhat below 100k left to go) could chip in on the bawxes we will need for doffs. I'll have a look-see through my alts, see who's got lots of FC.

I've tried this, but it doesn't work well. My experience in Sims modding has taught me that the best way to produce intelligent, directed behavior, is to remove the options for stupid behavior. By removing all options except the ones that are desirable, you can greatly curtail undesirable behavior.

So remember, don't do anything I wouldn't do.

That's not enough to buy even one stack of doffs, so I'd just hang onto it. Perspective: A stack of doffs costs 37.5K. It generally takes at least a half a dozen assorted stacks to feed a daily. Organizing a dozen half-assed efforts is simply more hassle than it's worth, so if you can't actually do the job, it's better to just sit and accumulate resources until you can, rather than annoying those of us who have to budget and do those tasks with a half-assed attempt that fails to complete the job and doesn't actually save us any effort. Half-assed efforts create more work for us, not less. If you can't fill a bar, it's generally better not to even try.

If you fill the bar, it's one thing we don't have to do. If you fill HALF a bar, we STILL have to fill the bar AND you've created additional bookkeeping. This is not only not helpful, it's counterproductive.
