Does the online coop require split screen?
Is there a way to put my lantern on my belt or something?

Only local co-op requires splitscreen, though you can opt for it I think but if playing online you can keep full screen.

Also, lantern placement on bag is also based in part on what bag you have (there are multiple bags with different pros/cons, like light bags that let you have the fast-dodge roll.)

As for jumping, no you can't -- BUT the game does have inertia, so you can access some areas by running up hill or rolling at the right time that are otherwise not doable.

See below for a spoiler regarding rolling + very good bag, but note that it is a spoiler and possibly a glitch/exploit.

If you go to the bandit camp in the north of the Chersonese, you can get the 110 slot bag immediately. You don't have to fight anyone but it may be easier to do so anyway. There's a locked room that requires 2 energy coils, but if you walk up the rock behind it and roll onto the roof, you can "talk to npc" which will unlock the room. There you will get some caster armor + the 110 slot bag (has the same name as the skeleton costume pieces).

Unrelated but the soundtrack really is great. The forest track is probably still my favorite (27:55:

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
jesus vendavel prison is brutal. entered it, the guy said if i wanna a good rest, i am tired and i said yes.
lmao i should have seen it coming. they took everything, enslaved me, escaped trough the hole. half dead, tired, naked i trotted back to cierzo, (good thing i didn't sell my previous weapons and armor. i get my weapons and armor, bought and crafted bunch of tripwire traps, and go back. starting with the fucker that deceived me, i planted like 5 traps in the room, destroyed teh fucker and the rest of them, got my gear back. also the backpack ended up ashore near the fortress. never again i trust people offering rest lol.
Fluent
also i admit i lucked out because i when i got back there is a bandit with brutal mace and tower shield outside the fortress. i managed to kill him, rest up and got his weapon. with poison rag the crock guy fight (also spamming traps) become manageable.
Same thing if you dont take the quest from the mage upstairs, she immediately attack at point blank , enough to one shot you. Third one is only fair fight as you can just move away and kite...
she has quest? i thought it was gonna be another bamboozle i killed her straigt away

Don't worry, I missed a lot too, haha. I didn't find evidence of the murderer in the desert, I missed the missing acolytes or whoever in the Hallowed Marsh, the bandits invaded Cierzo, etc. etc.. Future playthroughs, I guess. :D

I'm wondering how to further my current build. I'll say I did NOT see my current playstyle coming. I don't know what I was imagining, but running around dropping arcane traps while enemies chase me was not what I was expecting. :D That said, I'm curious how to continue that build. Pretty sure I'm going to get the skill that increases rune magic potency and/or get the 40 point boost to Mana. I'm still using that ethereal sword occasionally but not against tough enemies that can kill me if I get too close to them, so I run around and drop bombs basically. It's pretty neat and somewhat effective, though enemies in plate armor with strong weapons are still tough. Was thinking of chakrams too but I don't know much about them. Can I wield them with the ethereal sword in the other hand? How do they function?

where do you get training for plate traps? i can make charges but cannot deploy the pressure plates. i haven't leave chernoneese yet tho.

I believe I saw pressure plate advanced training in Levant, from the rogue trainer.

Vendavel fortress dialog punishments are silly. I mean, it happened to me the same that the guy up there, i just wanted to rest even tho it seemed suspicious i did not think it would be insta locked in the dungeon and striped of all my stuff. Anyways, recovered my bagpack and destroyed everything there, then i talked to the cook, made some stew and shit, then i ate one, and said "i think im missing some ingredients" BOOM insta LOCKED AGAIN... wtf, that was just plain stupid. Anyways, i missed the witch quest too, i talked and didn't have any quest options in the dialog, so i just killed her and her goons, nice loot.

Btw, that guy conqueror something, dropped a pretty cool shield, but did not drop the weapon, that a bug?

It's so cool that those floating lights in the swamp will follow you if you walk over them and serve as a light source for a good long time. Just a neat, useful environmental detail and mechanic. Also, love the ash giant designs. So weird.

Might be a bug, but only the shield dropped for me too. Still using it like 15 hours later even though I've found better ones because it looks so cool.

EDIT: Hallowed Marsh and Monsoon are probably my favorite areas in the game so far atmosphere-wise. So weird and cool everywhere you look. Plus the music is great there. Will definitely be joining the Order of Ellat on my next playthrough. I'm kind of doing a little self-imposition where I try to only do sidequests in my faction's area and Chersonese so I have plenty of content for subsequent playthroughs. Very similar to how I do it with my very Piranha Bytes games playthroughs. Not being that strict with my skill training though. Think I've decided: going with Mercenary, Shaman, and Wild Hunter for my breakthroughs this time around. That's another little self-imposed rule: have at least one class from your faction of choice.

What do you mean with your brekathroughs? Those special 3 points you get to spend on certain skills?

I'm definitely using the 1200 silver I scrounged up and getting 1) the 40 mana boost passive, and 2) the "all runic magic is more powerful" passive. That will make the running around setting magical traps a much more potent way of dealing with things. Currently using a steel saber but seriously, despite what people are saying I think that ethereal sword has something to it. It must be coated in a strong ethereal varnish or something. So far so good though, able to progress albeit with some trouble in the next Holy Order mission.

Breakthroughs are indeed the 3 points next to that chain breaking symbol. You get 3 in the game, therefore you can unlock 3 classes. Every skill above the breakthrough is locked behind it. You cannot reclaim these once you use them, so you have to choose very carefully. You choose a class, you stick with it through your entire playthrough.

Is there any stealth in this game? Can you build around it? Is it OP or useless? Are there non-lethal options? Is it combat heavy? Any forced combat sections?

You're all crazy to be playing this right now. Although this game sounds extremely like my shit after a year of patching probably

I've played 42 hours on PC without any items going missing. And for that matter, any major bugs to speak of.

pc have less bug.
also pc have the debug mode that allow select the save file (the game actually have multiple save slots) and spawn items.

in this game traps and consumables are extremely strong. guns too, slow to reload but strong.
daggers are deadly too.
i’m pretty sure a rogue/rune/mercenary(gun specialist) is probally the strongest character.

the game discourage the player to facetank strong enemies, and melee consume a lot of consumables and resource.
have a lot of health/mana/stamina really don’t matter the regen matter.

probally bow is good too but bugged for now.

Standin' pretty. In this dust that was a city.
The Vendavel quest was neat, but I didn't complete it. I was
enslaved and became a miner, until I found my backpack after helping the cook, the medic and gather iron scraps. I didn't know where to go from that point and dove into "The Hole" and barely escaped with my life, washed up on the beach. When I went back I asked to drink with Crock and he took me to a room and attacked me, he was way too strong to deal with and I was washed back up on the beach again. Not sure how strong you have to be to complete that quest but I don't see myself being able to. Unless maybe I just tell him "I'm here to kill you" and attack him? At least I'd have the upper hand then.

Really cool series of events though, wasn't expecting it.
Half the fucking thread consists of your posts, and you couldn't even get this right? The god damn mine overseer (probably the second person of, like 8 talkable NPCs down there) tells you this straight up, that to be released you need to buy the guards favor, and the guard tells you to get 30 silvers, which you can get in like 60 seconds (eg. by selling the mining picks literally lying next to the god damn vendor) And boom, you are free and loose nothing. Not to mention another prisoner teaches you back-stab for a shitty shiv you can craft, and the nurse gives you the health potion recipe making it one of the most profitable "deaths" I even came across. Oh, did I mention you can farm the cook for mushroom bars infinitely?

Natural mana regen? But I opened up my stat panel and looked at the mana for a minute, didn't regen.
Philosophers get mana regen if you "unlock" that class. Normally you don't. EDIT: Very tired debuff (<50% sleep) grants mana regen too.

What do you mean with your brekathroughs? Those special 3 points you get to spend on certain skills?
That's essentially the 3 "classes" you can unlock, getting access to their advanced skills.

Doesn't Reveal Souls also restore mana? If you cast it on a dead body, a skeleton or some dead bandit, a soul might be revealed as a blue orb. Hit it with your Spark spell and you regain a chunk of mana. I haven't tried it yet but that's what I've been told.
That's how it works, and casting Conjure (shaman skill) on that orb calls a a ghost to fight for you.

yes only shield.
Not true, he drops the mace as well. It's Brutal Mace or something like that. High damage, high impact, inflicts Confusion. Got it twice (because I'm sperging & restarting the game with new characters as usual), so it's a solid.

guns too, slow to reload but strong.
daggers are deadly too.

Gun skills reload the gun almost instantly, and you can just switch loaded guns from inventory making the Mercenary ridiculously op.

probally bow is good too but bugged for now.
Bows seem shit, unless you want to cheese stuck enemies. You can luck out and find a recursive bow, that inflicts Slow, but it takes quite a bit to get the horns and craft it into Coralhorn bow where the DPS starts to be relevant to the Fang melee weapons you can craft in first 15 minutes of leaving Cierzo. unless there's some omega bow late game, I don't really see it even coming close to guns.

In case someone should actually kill enemies in this game, it seems to be possible to overkill the area, because its day 20 and I had no respawns of bandits / wolves / chocobos all around Chernose since I killed them all in days 5-10. surprisingly dungeons seem to respawn, since I had Cierzo storage respawn the troglodytes AND loot, but maybe it was a bug.

About loot:
On other fun notes, the probably best backpack in the game (unique, 110 capacity) is right there in southern bandit camp, but you need 2 coils tat seem to only randomly spawn in Chernose supply chests to open the doors that lock it.

A little spoiler.

This is pretty nice. I am watching Cohh's playtrough from the start and its kinda making me want to play. Pretty nice so far. Still little iffy tho about the journal not writing important details regarding quests and need to make a note myself, that's way too old school.

I found so far heavy, slow weapons are lies.

The fang claymore or 1 handed mace so far is still the best weapons. The thing is, they are just too slow to land a proper combo and properly stagger the enemies. They just attack back mid combos.

This. I wonder how 2H weapons became so meme in all the walkthroughs I've seen. Combat is all about dishing max impact until enemy gets to half stamina, then stunlocking them until dead.
